²⁴ for there shall rise up false Christs, and false prophets, who shall shew great signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

¹⁵ And beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

⁵ for many shall come in my name saying, I am the Christ, and shall deceive many.

¹¹ and because iniquity shall abound,

²² for there shall rise up false Christs, and false prophets, who shall work signs and wonders, to seduce, if possible, even the elect.

³⁷ All that the Father giveth me, will come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will not cast out.

³⁹ And this is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all that He hath given me, I should lose none, but should raise them up at the last day.

²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; nor shall any one force them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father who gave them to me, is greater than all: and therefore none is able to force them out of my Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one. Then the Jews again took up stones to stone Him.

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, that he might not spend time in Asia: for he endeavoured, if it were possible, to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

²⁸ And we know that all things co-operate for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose; ²⁹ for those whom he foreknew, He also predetermined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be as the first-born among many brethren: and whom He before ordained, these He also called; ³⁰ and whom He called, these he also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. ³¹ What shall we say then to these things? if God be for us, who can be against us? ³² He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall lay any accusation against the elect of God? will God, who justifieth us? ³⁴ Who is he that condemneth? Is it Christ, that died for us? yea rather, that is risen again, who is also at the right hand of God, and who maketh intercession for us? ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ (as it is written, "for thy sake we are killed all the day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter:") ³⁷ but in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things future, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as ye can, live peaceably with all men.

¹⁵ What then was your blessedness? for I bear you witness that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

⁹ who comes, through the efficacy of Satan, with all kind of lying power, and signs, ¹⁰ and wonders, and with all iniquitous fraud, among those that shall perish; because they received not the love of the truth, by which they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God will send upon them the efficacy of error, so that they shall themselves believe the lie:

¹⁹ However, the foundation of God standeth firm, having this inscription, The Lord knoweth them that are his; and, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

⁵ who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹ But there were indeed false prophets among the people of old, as there will be also among you false teachers, who will privately introduce pernicious heresies, denying even the Lord that bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction, ² And many will follow their pernicious tenets, on whose account the way of truth will be reproached: ³ and by artful speeches they will make sale of you for gain. Whose judgement is long since hastening, and their destruction doth not slumber.

¹⁷ Do ye therefore, beloved, as ye know these things before, take heed least being seduced together with them by the error of the wicked, ye should fall from your own stedfastness.

¹⁸ We know that whosoever is born of God, doth not practise sin: but keepeth himself from it, and the wicked one doth not touch him.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world: he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life unto the death.

⁷ And he was permitted to make war upon the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over every tribe, and tongue, and nation. ⁸ So that all who dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

¹³ And he doth great wonders, so that even maketh fire to come down from heaven to earth in the sight of men; and deceiveth those that dwell on the earth, ¹⁴ by the signs which it was given him to do in the presence of the beast, telling the inhabitants of the earth to make an image to the beast, that had received the wound of the sword, and yet lived.

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet, who had wrought signs before him, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
