Luke 9 Cross References - Worsley

1 And He called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases: 2 and He sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 3 And He said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; nor two coats a piece. 4 And into whatever house ye enter, continue there, till ye leave that place. 5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye depart from that city, shake off the very dust from your feet, for a testimony against them. 6 And they went from town to town, preaching the gospel and healing every where. 7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all the things that were done by Him; and was perplexed, because it was said by some that John was risen from the dead; 8 and by some that Elias had appeared; and by others, that one of the ancient prophets was risen again. 9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? and he wanted to see Him. 10 And the apostles; when they were returned, told Him all that they had done: and He took them and retired privately into a desert place belonging to the city Bethsaida. 11 But when the people knew it they followed Him; and He received them, and spake to them concerning the kingdom of God, and healed those that had need of a cure. 12 And when the day began to decline, the twelve came and said to Him, Dismiss the people, that they may go into the villages and country-places round about, and bait, and get food: for here we are in a desert place. 13 But He said unto them, Do ye give them food. And they said, We have but five loaves and two fishes: unless we should go and buy provisions for all this people: 14 for they were about five thousand men. And He said to his disciples, Make them sit down in companies by fifty. 15 And they did so, and caused them all to sit down. 16 And He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven He blessed them; and brake and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17 And they did eat, and were all satisfied: and there was taken up what remained even of fragments twelve baskets. 18 And it came to pass, as He was praying in private, his disciples were with Him: and He asked them saying, Whom say the people that I am? 19 They answering said, John the baptist: but others say Elias: and others, that some ancient prophet is risen again. 20 And He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ the Son of God. 21 But He strictly charged and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22 saying, the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and be put to death, and be raised again the third day. 23 And He said unto them all, if any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me: 24 for he that would save his life shall lose it, but he that would lose his life for my sake shall save it. 25 For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be destroyed? 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He comes in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. 27 And I assure you, there be some of those who stand here, that shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God. 28 About eight days after these discourses, He took Peter, and John, and James, and went up to a mountain to pray. 29 And as He was praying the form of his countenance was altered, and his raiment white and glistering: 30 and behold two men talked with Him, which were Moses and Elias; 31 who appeared in glory, and spake of his exit, which He was to make at Jerusalem. 32 Now Peter and they that were with Him were heavy with sleep; but being awakened they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with Him. 33 And as they were departing from Him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here, let us make three tabernacles, one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. 34 And as he was saying this, there came a cloud and overshadowed them; and they were afraid, when they went up into the cloud and disappeared. 35 And there came a voice out of the cloud saying, This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him. 36 And when the voice was uttered, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it to themselves, and told no one at that time any of the things which they had seen. 37 And the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a great multitude met Him: 38 and one of the people cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee look upon my son, for he is my only child; 39 and lo, a spirit seizeth him, and all on a sudden he screameth, and it convulses him with foaming; and bruising him, with much ado departs from him. 40 And I prayed thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not. 41 Then Jesus answered and said, O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? Bring thy son hither. 42 And as he was coming along, the devil bruised and convulsed him: but Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him to his father. 43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God: but while they were all wondering at the things which Jesus did, He said to his disciples, 44 Receive these words into your ears; for the Son of man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, so that they perceived it not, and they were afraid to ask Him concerning it. 46 Then a dispute rose among them, which of them should be greatest. 47 And Jesus knowing the thought of their heart, took a child and set him by Him, and said unto them, 48 Whosoever shall receive this little child for my sake, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth Him that sent me. For he that is lest among you all, shall be great. 49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, and we forbad him, because he followeth not thee with us. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not; for he, that is not against us, is for us. 51 And it came to pass, as the days were almost fulfilled of his being received up again into heaven, that He set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52 and sent messengers before Him: who went into a village of the Samaritans to get a place ready for Him. 53 But they would not entertain Him, because his face was towards Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, as Elias did? 55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what spirit ye are of: 56 for the Son of man came not to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. 57 And as they were going by the way, there was one said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest: 58 and Jesus answered him, The foxes have holes, and the fowls of heaven their nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 59 And He said to another, Follow me: but he said, Lord, permit me to go first and bury my father: 60 but Jesus said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their dead; but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. 61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but allow me first to go and take my leave of my family. 62 But Jesus said unto him, No one, that hath put his hand to the plough and looketh back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

18 and the son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, 19 and deliver Him up to the gentiles, to insult, and to scourge, and to crucify Him. But on the third day He shall rise again. 20 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him, together with her two sons, falling down before Him, and presenting a petition to Him. 21 And He said unto her, What dost thou desire? She saith unto Him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on the left in thy kingdom. 22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask: are ye able to drink of the cup which I am going to drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

Matthew 20:28

28 as the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.

Matthew 21:31

31 Now which of the two did the will of his father? They say unto Him, The first. Jesus replied, Verily I say unto you, that publicans and prostitutes enter into the kingdom of God before you:

Matthew 21:38-39

38 But when the husbandmen saw the Son, they said among themselves, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, and seize on his inheritance: 39 so they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and slew him.

43 Therefore I tell you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation, that will bring forth the fruits thereof.

42 saying, What think ye of the Messiah? whose son is He? They say unto Him, David's.

Matthew 23:6-7

6 and love the uppermost places at feasts, 7 and the chief seats in the synagogues, and salutations in public assemblies, and to be called by men Rabbi, Rabbi.

Matthew 23:11-12

11 But let him that is greatest among you be your minister: and whosoever will exalt himself shall be abased, 12 and whosoever will humble himself shall be exalted.

Matthew 23:36

36 Verily I tell you, all these things shall come upon this generation.

Matthew 24:14

14 and this gospel of the kingdom of heaven shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all the nations; and then shall the end come.

Matthew 24:30-31

30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the land mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming as on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory: 31 and He will send forth his messengers with a trumpet of a loud voice, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 25:31

31 So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne:

Matthew 25:40

40 And the king replying will say unto them, Verily I declare unto you, inasmuch as ye did it to one of the lest of these my brethren, ye did it to me.

Matthew 25:45

45 Then will He reply to them, saying, Verily I tell you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the lest of these, ye did it not to me.

33 But Peter answered and said to Him, though they should all be offended in thee, yet will I never be offended.

Matthew 26:36

36 Then went Jesus with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit here, while I go there and pray: 37 and having taken with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and much distressed; 38 and saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death, stay here and watch with me. 39 And going a little farther, He prostrated himself, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. 40 And coming to the disciples, he findeth them asleep, and saith to Peter, what! could ye not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Matthew 26:41

41 Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42 And going away again, the second time He prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass from me, unless I drink it, thy will be done. 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

Matthew 26:51

51 And one of them that were with Jesus, stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and striking at the high priest's servant took off his ear.

Matthew 26:63

63 Then the high priest said to Him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us, if thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus saith unto him, It is as thou hast said: and I tell you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

Mark 1:26-27

26 and roaring with a loud voice, came out of him. 27 And they were all amazed, so that they inquired of each other, saying, What is this, what new kind of doctrine is this? for He commands with authority even the impure spirits, and they obey Him.

Mark 1:35

35 And in the morning, before it was light, He rose up and went out, and retired into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Mark 3:13-19

13 Then going up into a mountain, He calleth for such as He saw fit, and they came to Him: 14 and He appointed twelve to be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach the gospel, 15 and to have power to heal diseases, and to cast out demons; 16 even Simon, whom He surnamed Peter, 17 and James the Son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, (and He surnamed them Boanerges, which is to say, Sons of thunder,) and Andrew, 18 and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, 19 and Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, even him who betrayed Him.

Mark 5:4-5

4 for he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been pulled asunder by him, and the fetters broken; and no man could tame him: 5 and he was always night and day upon the hills and among the sepulchres bawling, and gashing himself with stones.

Mark 6:7-13

7 And He calleth unto Him the twelve, and sent them forth two and two, and gave them power over impure spirits; 8 and ordered them to take nothing for their journey, but a staff only; no bag, nor bread, nor money in their purse:

Mark 6:8-11

8 and ordered them to take nothing for their journey, but a staff only; no bag, nor bread, nor money in their purse: 9 but to tie on their sandals, and not to put on two coats.

Mark 6:9-11

9 but to tie on their sandals, and not to put on two coats. 10 And He said unto them, wheresoever ye enter into a house, there stay till ye leave that place.

10 And He said unto them, wheresoever ye enter into a house, there stay till ye leave that place.

Mark 6:10

10 And He said unto them, wheresoever ye enter into a house, there stay till ye leave that place. 11 And whosoever will not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Sodom or Gomorrah in the day of judgement, than for that city.

Mark 6:11-11

11 And whosoever will not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Sodom or Gomorrah in the day of judgement, than for that city.

Mark 6:11

11 And whosoever will not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Mark 6:12

12 And they went forth, and preached that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. 14 And king Herod heard of Him, (for his name was spread abroad,) and he said, John the baptist is risen from the dead, and therefore miraculous powers appear in him. 15 Others said, it is Elias: and others said, it is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.

Mark 6:15

15 Others said, it is Elias: and others said, it is a prophet, or like one of the prophets. 16 But when Herod heard of Him, he said, it is John whom I beheaded, he is risen from the dead. 17 For Herod had sent and seized John, and bound him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, because he had married her: 18 For John had said to Herod, it is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife. 19 Wherefore Herodias persecuted him, and would have taken away his life: 20 but could not; for Herod revered John, knowing him to be a just and holy man, and protected him: and when he heard him he did many things according to John's instructions, and heard him willingly. 21 But a convenient day happening, when Herod on his birth-night gave a supper to his lords, and chief officers, and persons of distinction in Galilee; and the daughter of Herodias coming in, 22 and dancing, and having pleased Herod and his guests, the king said to the young princess, Ask of me whatever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. 23 And he gave her his oath too, whatever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, even to the half of my kingdom. 24 And she withdrew and consulted her mother, what to ask: and she said, The head of John the baptist. 25 And immediately she came in again with eagerness to the king, and said, I desire that thou wouldst give me directly the head of John the baptist in a dish. 26 And the king was exceedingly grieved, but on account of his oath, and those who were at table with him, he would not refuse her: but immediately sent one of his guard, 27 and ordered his head to be brought: 28 and he went and beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head in a dish, and gave it to the damsel, and the damsel carried it to her mother.

Mark 6:30-45

30 And the apostles came together to Jesus, and told Him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a retired place, and rest a little: for there were many coming and going, and they had not time even to eat. 32 And they went away privately in a ship into a desert place. 33 And the people saw them departing, and many took notice of them, and ran thither on foot from all the cities, and got before them, and came together unto Him.

Mark 6:33-34

33 And the people saw them departing, and many took notice of them, and ran thither on foot from all the cities, and got before them, and came together unto Him. 34 And when Jesus came out of the ship, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them; because they were as sheep without a shepherd: and He began to teach them many things.

Mark 6:34-34

34 And when Jesus came out of the ship, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them; because they were as sheep without a shepherd: and He began to teach them many things. 35 And when it was now late in the day, his disciples came to Him, and said, this is a desert place, and it is now late:

Mark 6:35-44

35 And when it was now late in the day, his disciples came to Him, and said, this is a desert place, and it is now late: 36 dismiss them, that they may go into the country-places and villages round about, and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat.

Mark 6:36-44

36 dismiss them, that they may go into the country-places and villages round about, and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat. 37 But He answered them, Do ye give them something to eat. And they say to Him, shall we go and buy two hundred penny-worth of bread, and give them to eat?

Mark 6:37-44

37 But He answered them, Do ye give them something to eat. And they say to Him, shall we go and buy two hundred penny-worth of bread, and give them to eat?

Mark 6:37-38

37 But He answered them, Do ye give them something to eat. And they say to Him, shall we go and buy two hundred penny-worth of bread, and give them to eat? 38 But He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they had examined, they said, Five, and two fishes.

Mark 6:38-44

38 But He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they had examined, they said, Five, and two fishes.

Mark 6:38-38

38 But He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they had examined, they said, Five, and two fishes. 39 And He ordered them to cause all the people to sit down by companies upon the grass:

39 And He ordered them to cause all the people to sit down by companies upon the grass:

Mark 6:40-44

40 and they sat down in an oblong square, an hundred by fifty.

Mark 6:40-40

40 and they sat down in an oblong square, an hundred by fifty. 41 And when He had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, He looked up to heaven, and gave thanks; then He brake the loaves and gave them to his disciples, to set before them; the two fishes likewise He divided among them all.

Mark 6:41-44

41 And when He had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, He looked up to heaven, and gave thanks; then He brake the loaves and gave them to his disciples, to set before them; the two fishes likewise He divided among them all. 42 And they did all eat and were fully satisfied.

Mark 6:42-44

42 And they did all eat and were fully satisfied. 43 And they took up of the fragments of the bread, and of the fishes, twelve baskets full.

Mark 6:43-44

43 And they took up of the fragments of the bread, and of the fishes, twelve baskets full. 44 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men.

Mark 6:44-44

44 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men. 45 And immediately He obliged his disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the people: 46 and when He had sent them away, He retired into a mountain to pray.

Mark 6:51

51 And He went up into the ship to them, and the wind ceased, and they were exceedingly amazed in themselves, and wondered: not considering the miracle of the loaves,

Mark 7:34

34 and looking up to heaven He sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, be opened:

Mark 8:6

6 And He ordered the people to sit down upon the ground: and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and brake them, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the multitude.

Mark 8:8-9

8 And they did eat and were satisfied: and they took up what were left, to wit of fragments seven baskets: 9 and they that had eaten were about four thousand. And then He dismissed them.

Mark 8:16-18

16 they argued one with another, saying, It is because we have no bread. 17 And Jesus knowing it saith unto them, What are ye reasoning about? because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet discern nor understand? have ye your heart still hardened? 18 Have ye eyes, and do not see? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember? 19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did ye take up? They answer, Twelve. 20 And when I divided the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? and they said, Seven.

Mark 8:27-30

27 Then Jesus and his disciples went out into the towns of Cesarea Philippi: and by the way He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I am? 28 And they answered, Some say, John the baptist; and others, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

Mark 8:28-30

28 And they answered, Some say, John the baptist; and others, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29 And He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered and saith, Thou art the Christ.

Mark 8:29

29 And He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered and saith, Thou art the Christ. 30 And He charged them, that they should say this to no one concerning Him:

Mark 8:30-31

30 And He charged them, that they should say this to no one concerning Him: 31 and began to tell them, that the Son of man must suffer much; and be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes; and be put to death: and after three days rise again.

Mark 8:31-9:1

31 and began to tell them, that the Son of man must suffer much; and be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes; and be put to death: and after three days rise again.

Mark 8:31

31 and began to tell them, that the Son of man must suffer much; and be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes; and be put to death: and after three days rise again. 32 And this He spake plainly and openly. Upon which Peter began to rebuke Him. 33 But He turned about and looking on his disciples reproved Peter, saying, Get thee behind me Satan; for thou savourest not the things of God, but the things that be of men. 34 And calling the people and his disciples to Him, He said unto them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me: 35 for he that would save his life, shall lose it; but he that would lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mark 8:36

36 For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 or what shall a man give as a ransom for his soul? 38 for whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this degenerate and sinful age, of him will the Son of man be also ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.

Mark 8:38

38 for whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this degenerate and sinful age, of him will the Son of man be also ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.

Mark 9:1

1 And He said unto them, Verily I tell you, that there are some of those who stand here, that shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. 2 And after six days Jesus taketh with Him Peter, and James, and John, and bringeth them up by themselves to a high mountain apart; and was transfigured before them:

Mark 9:2-3

2 And after six days Jesus taketh with Him Peter, and James, and John, and bringeth them up by themselves to a high mountain apart; and was transfigured before them: 3 and his raiment shone, being exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller on earth can whiten.

Mark 9:3-3

3 and his raiment shone, being exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller on earth can whiten. 4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.

Mark 9:4-6

4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. 5 Then said Peter to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: let us make three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias:

Mark 9:5-6

5 Then said Peter to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: let us make three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: 6 for he knew not what to say, for they were sore afraid.

Mark 9:6-6

6 for he knew not what to say, for they were sore afraid.

Mark 9:6

6 for he knew not what to say, for they were sore afraid. 7 And there was a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him.

Mark 9:7-8

7 And there was a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him. 8 And immediately looking round about, they saw no more of any one, but Jesus alone with them.

Mark 9:8-8

8 And immediately looking round about, they saw no more of any one, but Jesus alone with them. 9 And as they came down from the mountain, He charged them to tell no one what they had seen, till after the Son of man were risen from the dead.

Mark 9:9-10

9 And as they came down from the mountain, He charged them to tell no one what they had seen, till after the Son of man were risen from the dead. 10 And they laid hold on that expression, querying among themselves, what means the rising from the dead?

Mark 9:10-10

10 And they laid hold on that expression, querying among themselves, what means the rising from the dead?

Mark 9:10

10 And they laid hold on that expression, querying among themselves, what means the rising from the dead? 11 Then they asked Him, saying, Why do the scribes say, that Elias must come first? 12 And He answered and told them, Elias doth indeed come first, and settle all things: He told them likewise how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things and be used contemptuously. 13 But I tell you, that Elias is come, and they have done to him whatever they would, as it is written of him. 14 And when He came to the other disciples, He saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes disputing with them. 15 And immediately all the people, when they saw Him, were astonished; and running to Him, saluted Him. 16 And he asked the scribes, What are ye disputing about? 17 And one of the multitude answered, and said, Master I have brought unto thee my son, who is possessed by a dumb spirit: 18 and wherever it seizeth him, it convulseth him; and he fometh, and gnasheth his teeth, and thus he pineth away: and I desired thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not. 19 And He answered and said, O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me.

Mark 9:19

19 And He answered and said, O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me. 20 And they brought him to Him: and as soon as he saw Him, immediately the spirit threw him into convulsions: and he fell upon the ground, and rolled about foming.

Mark 9:20

20 And they brought him to Him: and as soon as he saw Him, immediately the spirit threw him into convulsions: and he fell upon the ground, and rolled about foming. 21 And He asked his father, How long is it since this befel him? And he said, From a child. 22 And it has often thrown him both into the fire and into the waters to destroy him. But if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us and help us. 23 And Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And the father of the child immediately cried out and said with tears, Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief. 25 when Jesus saw the people flock together, He rebuked the impure spirit, and said to him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, Come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And when he had rored and vehemently convulsed him, he came out of him: and the child was as one dead, so that many said, that he was dead.

Mark 9:26

26 And when he had rored and vehemently convulsed him, he came out of him: and the child was as one dead, so that many said, that he was dead.

Mark 9:26-27

26 And when he had rored and vehemently convulsed him, he came out of him: and the child was as one dead, so that many said, that he was dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

Mark 9:27-27

27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. 28 And when He was come into the house, his disciples asked Him in private, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And He said unto them, This kind cannot be cast out, but by prayer and fasting. 30 And they departed from thence and passed through Galilee, and He was not willing that any should know it; 31 for He was instructing his disciples, and told them, the Son of man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will put Him to death; and on the third day, after his being put to death, He will rise again.

Mark 9:31-32

31 for He was instructing his disciples, and told them, the Son of man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will put Him to death; and on the third day, after his being put to death, He will rise again. 32 But they knew not his meaning, and were afraid to ask Him.

Mark 9:32

32 But they knew not his meaning, and were afraid to ask Him. 33 And he came to Capernaum; and when He was in the house, He asked them, What were ye disputing about among yourselves by the way? 34 But they held their peace; for they had been disputing with each other by the way who should be the greatest. 35 So He sat down and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any one would be first, let him be last of all, and servant of all. 36 And He took a child and set him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms He said unto them, 37 Whoever shall receive one of these little children in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me only, but Him that sent me.

Mark 9:37-37

37 Whoever shall receive one of these little children in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me only, but Him that sent me. 38 But John answered Him and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, who doth not follow us; and we forbade him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no one, that worketh a miracle in my name, and can presently speak evil of me: 40 for he that is not against us, is for us. 41 For whosoever shall give you but a cup of water to drink, for my sake; because ye are Christ's, I assure you, he shall not lose his reward.

Mark 9:43-48

43 And if thy hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that will never be extinguished; 44 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the inextinguishable fire; 46 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye cause thee to offend, cast it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell-fire; 48 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Mark 10:13-14

13 And they brought to Him little children that He might touch them: and the disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 Which Jesus observing, was much displeased, and said to them, Let the children come to me; and hinder them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mark 10:14-15

14 Which Jesus observing, was much displeased, and said to them, Let the children come to me; and hinder them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mark 10:14-14

14 Which Jesus observing, was much displeased, and said to them, Let the children come to me; and hinder them not; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I tell you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall by no means enter into it.

Mark 10:33-34

33 saying, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles; 34 and they will insult Him, and scourge Him, and spit upon Him, and put Him to death: but on the third day He shall rise again.

Mark 10:38

38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask. Can ye drink of the cup, that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

Mark 10:49

49 And Jesus stopt, and ordered him to be called: so they called the blind man, and said to him, Be of good courage, rise up, He calleth thee.

Mark 14:25

25 and I assure you, that I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine, till the day when I shall drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Mark 14:33-36

33 And He taketh Peter and James and John with Him, and He began to be overwhelmed with terror and anguish. 34 And He saith unto them, My Soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death, stay here and watch. 35 And going a little farther, He prostrated Himself, and prayed, if it were possible, that this hour might pass from Him. 36 And He said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to Thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless, not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Mark 14:61

61 but he held his peace, and made him no answer. So the high priest asked Him again, and saith to Him, Art thou the Messiah the Son of the blessed God?

Mark 16:12

35 but Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him.

4 Carry neither purse, nor bag, nor shoes; and salute no one by the way. 5 But whatever house ye come into, first say, Peace be to this house:

9 and heal those in it that are sick, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come unto you. 10 But into whatever city ye come, and they receive you not, go out into the streets of it and say, 11 even the dust that cleaveth to us out of your city we wipe off against you: but know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast plenty of goods laid up for many years, take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night shall thy soul be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that heapeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich towards God. 22 And He said to his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor for the body, what ye shall put on:

25 When the master of the house shall have risen up and shut the door, and ye begin to stand without and knock at the door saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and He shall answer and say to you, I know you not, whence ye are: 26 then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drank in thy presence, 27 and thou hast taught in our streets, But He will say, I tell you, I know you not, whence ye are; depart from me all ye workers of iniquity:

31 At the same time came some of the pharisees, and said to Him, Go out and depart hence, for Herod intends to kill thee. 32 And He said to them, Go, tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and to-morrow; and in a little while I am to be perfected:

John 5:22-24

22 For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath committed all judgement to the Son; 23 that all men may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father: he, that honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father that sent Him. 24 Verily, verily I say unto you, he, that heareth my word, and believeth in Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come under condemnation; but is passed from death to life.

John 6:9-15

9 saith unto Him, There is a lad here, that hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?

John 6:9-9

9 saith unto Him, There is a lad here, that hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many? 10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down: (now there was much grass in the place:) so the men sat down in number about five thousand.

John 6:10-15

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down: (now there was much grass in the place:) so the men sat down in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were sat down; and of the fishes likewise, as much as they would take.

John 6:60-66

60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard Him, said, This discourse is hard to be understood, who can take it in? 61 But Jesus knowing in Himself, that his disciples were murmuring about it, said unto them, Does this offend you? 62 What then, if ye should see the Son of man ascending up, where He was before?

John 6:62-66

62 What then, if ye should see the Son of man ascending up, where He was before? 63 The spirit is the principle of life, the flesh availeth nothing: now the words that I speak unto you are spirit, and therefore life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not: (for Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that believed not, and who would betray Him: 65 and He said,) therefore I told you, that no one can come unto me except it be given him from my Father. 66 From this time many of his disciples went away, and walked no more with Him.

John 8:48

48 The Jews therefore answered and said unto Him. Do we not rightly say, that thou art a Samaritan, and art possessed by a demon?

John 8:51-52

51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any one keep my word, he shall never see death. 52 The Jews therefore said unto Him, Now we are sure that thou art possessed by a demon. 34 The people answered Him, We have heard out of the law, that the Messiah abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

John 12:43

43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. 44 And Jesus raised his voice, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me only, but on Him that sent me: 45 and he that beholdeth me, beholdeth Him that sent me.

12 Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I perform he also shall perform, and greater than these shall he do: because I am going to the Father.

21 He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him.

John 16:4

4 But I have told you these things, that when the time cometh, ye may remember that I told you of them. Though I did not tell you of them at the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I am going away to Him that sent me, and yet none of you asketh me, Whither art thou going? but because I have said these things to you,

John 16:7

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I should go away; for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.

He saith unto Him, Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee. 17 He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon son of Jonas, dost thou love me? John 21:22-23

22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he stay till I come, what is it to thee? Follow thou me. 23 This rumor therefore was spread among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: though Jesus did not say that he should not die, but--- if I will that he stay till I come, what is that to thee?

Acts 3:13-15

13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied before Pilate, when he determined to release Him. 14 But ye refused the holy and righteous One, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you: 15 and put to death the prince of life; whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And through faith in his name, hath strengthened this man, whom ye see and know: his name, I say, and saith in Him, hath wrought this perfect cure before you all.

Ephesians 4:8-11

8 Wherefore it is said, "When he ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." 9 Now this expression "He ascended" what does it mean, but that He descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. 11 And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry,

Philippians 1:15-18

15 Some indeed through envy and strife, and some also through good-will: 16 the former preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, thinking to add affliction to my bonds; 17 the others out of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? yet every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is preached: and in this I rejoice, yea and I will rejoice;

Hebrews 3:3-6

3 For He was accounted worthy of more honor than Moses, as he who hath built it, hath more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by some one: and He who built all things is God. 5 Now Moses was indeed faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of the things which were to be spoken: 6 but Christ as a Son over his own house; whose house we are, if we maintain the free profession and exultation of hope firm unto the end. 7 Therefore, as the holy Ghost saith, "To-day if ye will hear his voice, 8 harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me, 9 proved me, and saw my works forty years: 10 wherefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, They are always erring in their heart, and they have not known my ways: 11 so I sware in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest."

Hebrews 12:2

2 looking unto Jesus the leader and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Wherefore consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, that ye may not give out, fainting in your minds: 4 for ye have not resisted unto blood in striving against sin. 5 Have ye forgotten the exhortation, which speaketh to you as to sons, saying, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor saint when rebuked by Him?

Hebrews 12:25-26

25 See that ye reject not Him that speaketh; for if they escaped not, who rejected him that gave forth divine oracles on earth, much less shall we, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven: 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He hath promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven."

17 Elias was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not upon the land for three years and six months: 18 and he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth put forth its fruit.
