⁴⁷ Whosoever cometh unto me, and heareth my instructions, and observeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

²⁴ Whoever therefore heareth these words of mine, and performeth them, I will compare him to a prudent man, who built his house on a rock: ²⁵ and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. ²⁶ And whoever heareth these words of mine, and performeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: ²⁷ and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.

²⁸ Come unto me therefore all ye who are labouring and oppressed, and I will give you ease. ²⁹ Take but my yoke upon you, and learn of me, (for I am meek and lowly in heart,) and ye shall find refreshment to your souls:

⁵⁰ for whosoever doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is to me as my brother and sister and mother.

⁵ And as he was speaking, lo a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.

⁸ But some fell on good ground, and sprang up and yielded fruit an hundred-fold. And as He said these things He cried out, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

¹³ And those on stony-ground are such as when they hear, receive the word with joy; but have no root, and so believe only for a while, and in the time of trial fall away.

²⁸ but He replied, Yea rather happy are they, that hear the word of God and keep it.

²⁶ so he turned and said to them, If any man come to me, and does not comparatively hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple.

⁴⁰ and they testify of me: and yet ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

³⁵ Then Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

³⁷ All that the Father giveth me, will come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will not cast out.

⁴⁴ No one can come to me, unless the Father, who hath sent me, draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, "And they shall all be taught of God." Every one therefore that hath heard and learned from the Father, cometh unto me.

⁵² The Jews therefore said unto Him, Now we are sure that thou art possessed by a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets too; and thou sayest, If any one keep my word, he shall never taste of death: art thou greater than our father Abraham, who is dead?

²⁷ He answered them, I have told you already, and ye would not hear? why would ye now hear it again? have ye also a mind to be his disciples? ²⁸ Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple, but we are the disciples of Moses: we know that God spake to Moses:

²⁷ and I know them, and they follow me.

¹⁷ If ye know these things, happy are ye, if ye do them.

¹⁵ If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father,

²¹ He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him. ²² Judas (not the Iscariot) saith unto Him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thy self to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. ²⁴ He that doth not love me, doth not observe my words: and yet the word that ye hear, is not mine, but the Father's who hath sent me.

⁹ As the Father hath loved me, and I have loved you, continue in my love: ¹⁰ and if ye keep my commandments ye will continue in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love. ¹¹ These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy in you may continue, and that your joy may be full. ¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love hath no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends: ¹⁴ and ye are my friends, if ye do what I command you.

⁷ to them, who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, and honor, and immortality, eternal life: ⁸ but to those who are contentious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. ⁹ Tribulation and anguish shall be upon every soul of man that worketh evil, both of the Jew, and of the Gentile: ¹⁰ but glory, and honor, and peace to every one that worketh good, both to the Jew, and to the Greek:

⁹ He became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey Him:

²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror, ²⁴ who beheld himself, and went away, and immediately forgot what manner of man he was. ²⁵ But he that looketh well into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

¹⁷ To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doth it not, to him it is sin.

⁴ to whom coming as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen of God,

¹⁰ Wherefore, my brethren, be the more diligent thus to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.

²⁹ If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one, who practiseth righteousness, is born of Him.

⁷ Little children, let no one deceive you: he that practiseth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous:

¹⁴ Happy are they that do his commandments, so shall they have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
