⁴¹ But why dost thou look at the chaff in thy brother's eye, and takest no notice of the beam that is in thine own?

³ And why dost thou look at the splinter in thy brother's eye, but takest no notice of the beam in thine own eye? ⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me take the chaff out of thine eye, and behold, there is a beam in thine own eye? ⁵ Thou hypocrite, first get the beam out of thine own eye; and then thou wilt see how to take the splinter out of thy brother's eye.

⁷ And as they continued asking Him, He raised himself up and said unto them, "Let him that is without sin among you, first cast a stone at her."

⁴⁰ but now ye seek to kill me, who have told you the truth which I have heard from God: Abraham did not thus. ⁴¹ But ye do the works of your father. Then said they unto Him, We are not born of fornication, we have one Father, even God. ⁴² Jesus said unto them, If God were your father, ye would love me: for I came forth, and do come, from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent me. ⁴³ And why do ye not understand my language, but because ye cannot bear my doctrine? ⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such.

¹ Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whoever thou art, that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost the same things.

²¹ Thou then, who teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? Thou, that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? ²² Thou, that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou, that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? ²³ Thou, that boastest in the law, dost thou by transgression of the law dishonour God? ²⁴ for through you the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles, as it is written.

²⁴ who beheld himself, and went away, and immediately forgot what manner of man he was.
