Luke 24 Cross References - Worsley

1 And on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared; (and some others with them:) and found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre: 2 so they went in, 3 but found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And while they were in perplexity about it, behold, two men stood by them in shining robes. 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the ground, the men said unto them, Why do ye seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, He is risen: remember how He spake to you, when He was yet in Galilee, 7 saying, the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of wicked men, and be crucified; and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 and returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things to the eleven apostles, and to all the rest. 10 Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, that told these things to the apostles: 11 and their words appeared to them as an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the sepulchre; and stooping down he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves: and he went away, wondering in himself at what had happened. 13 And behold two of them were going that day to a village about threescore furlongs from Jerusalem, called Emmaus. 14 And they were conversing together about all these things which had happened. 15 And while they were discoursing and reasoning together, Jesus himself drew near and went along with them. 16 But their eyes were so restrained that they did not know Him. 17 And He said unto them, What subjects are these, which ye are discoursing of to one another as ye walk, and why are ye sorrowful? 18 And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered and said to Him, Art thou only a sojourner at Jerusalem, and hast not heard of the things which have been done there within these few days? 19 And He said unto them, What things? And they replied, Those concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet powerful both in work and word before God and all the people: 20 how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we hoped that it was He that would have delivered Israel: and besides all this, to-day is the third day since these things were done. 22 And indeed some women of our company much surprised us: who having been early at the sepulchre, 23 and not finding his body there, came and said likewise that they had seen a vision of angels, who said He was alive. 24 And some of those that were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it so as the women had said: but Him they did not see. 25 And He said unto them, O people void of understanding and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken. 26 Was not the Messiah to suffer these things, and so to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning from Moses, and all the prophets, He explained to them in all the scriptures the things that were spoken concerning Himself. 28 And they drew nigh to the village whither they were going: and He made as if He was going farther. 29 And they pressed Him, saying, Stay with us, for it is towards evening, and the day is far spent. And He went in to tarry with them. 30 And as He sat at table with them, He took bread and blessed it, and then brake it and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him. 32 And He disappeared from them. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, as He was talking with us by the way, and while He was opening to us the scriptures? 33 And they rose up immediately and returned to Jerusalem; and sound the eleven and others with them assembled together, saying, 34 The Lord is risen indeed, and hath been seen by Simon. 35 Then these also related what had happened by the way, and how He became known to them in breaking of bread. 36 And as they were thus speaking, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be to you. 37 But they being terrified and frighted, thought they saw a spirit. 38 And He said to them, Why are ye troubled? and why do such thoughts rise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when He said this, He shewed them his hands and feet. 41 But they not yet believing for joy, and being amazed, He said to them, Have ye here any thing to eat? 42 And they gave Him part of a broiled fish and some honey-comb: 43 and He took, and did eat before them. 44 And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all the things must be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and Psalms, concerning me. 45 Then He opened their mind, to understand the scriptures: 46 and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day; 47 and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things: and I will send upon you the promise of my Father; 49 but do ye continue in the city of Jerusalem, till ye are endued with power from on high. 50 And He led them out as far as to Bethany: and lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 And while He was blessing them, He was parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53 And they were constantly in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

23 and not finding his body there, came and said likewise that they had seen a vision of angels, who said He was alive.

Luke 24:30-31

30 And as He sat at table with them, He took bread and blessed it, and then brake it and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him.

Luke 24:31-31

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him. 32 And He disappeared from them. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, as He was talking with us by the way, and while He was opening to us the scriptures?

Luke 24:35

35 Then these also related what had happened by the way, and how He became known to them in breaking of bread. 36 And as they were thus speaking, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be to you.

Luke 24:44-46

44 And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all the things must be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and Psalms, concerning me.

Luke 24:44

44 And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all the things must be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and Psalms, concerning me. 45 Then He opened their mind, to understand the scriptures:

Luke 24:45

45 Then He opened their mind, to understand the scriptures: 46 and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day;

Luke 24:46

46 and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day;

John 1:45

45 Philip meeting Nathaniel, saith unto him, We have found Him, of whom Moses in the law, and of whom the prophets also wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Jeseph.

John 2:19-22

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again: then said the Jews, 20 Forty and six years has this temple been in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? but He spake of the temple of his body. 21 Therefore when he was risen from the dead, 22 his disciples remembered, that He had said this to them: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

John 3:2

2 who came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for none can do these miracles which thou dost, unless God be with him.

John 3:14

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up:

John 4:19

19 The woman saith unto Him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

John 5:39

39 Ye search the scriptures; for ye think that in them ye have eternal life:

John 5:45-47

45 Think not that I shall accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote concerning me:

John 5:46

46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote concerning me: 47 but if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

John 6:11

11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were sat down; and of the fishes likewise, as much as they would take.

John 6:14

14 Therefore the people when they had seen the miracle that Jesus wrought, said, this is certainly the Prophet who was to come into the world.

John 6:63

63 The spirit is the principle of life, the flesh availeth nothing: now the words that I speak unto you are spirit, and therefore life.

John 7:40-42

40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this discourse, said, This is in truth a prophet. 41 Others said, This is the Messiah. But some said, Shall the Messiah come out of Galilee? 42 Hath not the Scripture said, that Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town whence David was.

John 7:52

52 They replied, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and see: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

John 8:59

59 Therefore they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus concealed Himself, and went out of the temple, through the midst of them, and so passed on.

John 12:16

16 Now his disciples did not understand these things at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning Him, and that they had done thus unto Him.

John 14:16-17

16 and He will give you another comforter to abide with you for ever: 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him, because He abideth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world shall see me no more; but ye shall see me: and because I live, ye shall live also.

John 14:26

26 But the comforter, that is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 Ye have heard, how I said unto you, "I am going away, and I shall come again to you." If ye loved me, ye would rejoice that I said, I am going to the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 15:26

26 But when the comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, (even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,) He shall testify of me. 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

John 16:4-5

4 But I have told you these things, that when the time cometh, ye may remember that I told you of them. Though I did not tell you of them at the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I am going away to Him that sent me, and yet none of you asketh me, Whither art thou going? but because I have said these things to you, 6 sorrow hath filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I should go away; for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.

John 16:7

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I should go away; for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. 8 And when He comes, He will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement: 9 of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 of righteousness, because I am going to my Father and ye shall see me no more; 11 and of judgement, because the prince of this world is judged. 12 I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 But when the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that will He speak, and will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me, for He shall take of mine and shew it unto you. 15 All that the Father hath are mine: therefore I said, that He shall take of mine and shew it unto you. 16 A little while and ye shall not see me: and again a little while and ye shall see me, because I am going to the Father.

John 16:16-16

16 A little while and ye shall not see me: and again a little while and ye shall see me, because I am going to the Father. 17 Some of his disciples therefore said one to another, What is the meaning of this that He saith to us, A little while and ye shall not see me, and again a little while and ye shall see me, and---because I am going to the Father?

John 16:20-22

20 Verily I tell you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. 21 A woman when she is in labor, hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she is delivered of the child, she thinks no more of the anguish, for joy, that a man is born into the world. 22 And ye therefore now have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy shall no one take from you.

John 16:22

22 And ye therefore now have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy shall no one take from you.

John 16:33

33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have trouble: but be of good courage, I have overcome the world.

John 17:11-13

11 And as I am to be no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to Thee, Holy Father, keep by thy name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; I have preserved those whom Thou gavest me, and none of them is lost; except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to Thee, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in them.

John 19:24-37

24 they said therefore to one another, Let us not cut it, but let us cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, "They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots." These things therefore the soldiers did. 25 Now there stood near the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene.

John 19:25-37

25 Now there stood near the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 Jesus therefore seeing his mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, saith to his mother, Woman, behold thy son: 27 and then saith to the disciple, Behold thy mother. And from that hour the same disciple took her to his own home. 28 After this Jesus knowing that all things were now finished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29 Now there was set a vessel there full of vinegar: so they filled a spunge with the vinegar, and putting it upon hyssop, held it up to his mouth. 30 And when Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished. And reclining his head, He yielded up the ghost. 31 The Jews therefore, that the bodies might not remain upon the cross on the sabbath-day, because it was now the preparation, (for that sabbath-day was an high-day) desired Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32 So the soldiers came, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other that was crucified with Him. But coming to Jesus, 33 as they saw He was dead already, they did not break his legs: 34 but one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water. 35 And he that saw it testifieth it, and his testimony is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye may believe. 36 For these things were done, that the scripture might be fulfilled, Not a bone of Him shall be broken. 37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on Him whom they have pierced.

John 20:1-2

1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene cometh early in the morning, while it was yet dark, to the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

John 20:1-10

1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene cometh early in the morning, while it was yet dark, to the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. 2 She therefore runneth and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid Him.

John 20:2-10

2 She therefore runneth and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid Him. 3 Peter therefore went out, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. 4 So they both ran together, but the other disciple out-ran Peter, and came first to the sepulchre: 5 and stooping down to look in saw the linen cloths lying; but did not go in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter, who followed him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen cloths lying there;

John 20:6-10

6 Then cometh Simon Peter, who followed him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen cloths lying there; 7 and the napkin that was upon his head, not laid with the linen cloths, but folded up by itself.

John 20:7-10

7 and the napkin that was upon his head, not laid with the linen cloths, but folded up by itself. 8 Then went in also the other disciple; who came first to the sepulchre, and he saw and believed. 9 For they did not before understand the scripture, that He must rise from the dead. 10 So the two disciples went away again to their own company. 11 But Mary stood without near the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept she stooped down to look into the sepulchre; and there seeth two angels in white sitting,

John 20:11-18

11 But Mary stood without near the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept she stooped down to look into the sepulchre; and there seeth two angels in white sitting, 12 one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

John 20:12-18

12 one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they said to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him.

John 20:13-16

13 And they said to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him. 14 And having said this, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

John 20:14

14 And having said this, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

John 20:14-16

14 And having said this, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Then said Jesus to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom dost thou seek? She thinking that it was the gardener, saith to Him, Sir, if thou hast carried Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him away.

John 20:15-16

15 Then said Jesus to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom dost thou seek? She thinking that it was the gardener, saith to Him, Sir, if thou hast carried Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary: and she turned herself and said unto Him, Rabboni, that is to say, Master.

John 20:16-16

16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary: and she turned herself and said unto Him, Rabboni, that is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not now; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go directly to my brethren, and tell them, "I am to ascend to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God."

John 20:17

17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not now; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go directly to my brethren, and tell them, "I am to ascend to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God." 18 So Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples, that she had seen the Lord, and that He had said these things to her.

John 20:18

18 So Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples, that she had seen the Lord, and that He had said these things to her. 19 Now the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, and the doors where the disciples were being shut, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be to you.

John 20:19-23

19 Now the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, and the doors where the disciples were being shut, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be to you. 20 And when He had said this, He shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

John 20:20-23

20 And when He had said this, He shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

John 20:20

20 And when He had said this, He shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus unto them again, Peace be to you. As my Father sent me, even so send I you.

John 20:21-23

21 Then said Jesus unto them again, Peace be to you. As my Father sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when He said this, He breathed upon them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the holy Spirit:

John 20:22-23

22 And when He said this, He breathed upon them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the holy Spirit: 23 and whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; but whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

John 20:23-23

23 and whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; but whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. 24 But Thomas called Didymus, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and my hand into his side, I will not believe.

John 20:25

25 The other disciples therefore told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and my hand into his side, I will not believe. 26 And after eight days his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them: and Jesus came (the doors being shut as before) and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.

John 20:26

26 And after eight days his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them: and Jesus came (the doors being shut as before) and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you. 27 Then saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not incredulous, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered, and said, "My Lord and my God."

John 21:4

4 But when it was morning, Jesus stood on the shore: though the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Young men, have ye any thing to eat?

John 21:10-13

10 And Jesus saith unto them, Bring some of the fish, which ye have now caught. 11 Then Simon Peter went aboard, and drew the net to land, full of large fishes, an hundred fifty-three: and though there were so many, the net was not broken. 12 Jesus saith unto them, Come, and dine. And none of the disciples presumed to ask Him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus therefore cometh and taketh bread, and giveth it to them, and fish likewise.

Acts 1:3

3 to whom also He presented Himself alive, after He had suffered, by many certain proofs; being seen among them for forty days, and speaking of the things relating to the kingdom of God. 4 And meeting them together He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said He, ye have heard from me;

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord. 2 And suddenly there was a sound from heaven as of a strong rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them divided tongues, as it were of fire, and it sat upon each of them: 4 and they were all filled with the holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 Now there were at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this rumor was spread, the multitude came together and were astonished; for every one heard them speaking in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and wondered, saying to one another, Behold, are not all these, that are speaking, Galileans? 8 and how do we every one hear them in our own native tongue? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those that dwell in Mesopotamia, and Judea, and Capadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, 10 Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers from Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God. 12 And they were all amazed and in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean? 13 but others scoffing said, they are full of sweet wine. 14 But Peter standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and listen to my words: 15 for these men are not drunk, as ye suppose; for it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel, 17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days (saith God) that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 yea and on my servants and on my handmaids, in those days, I will pour out of my Spirit, and they also shall prophesy. 19 And I will give prodigies in the heaven, and signs upon the earth; blood, and fire, and smoky vapour. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and illustrious day of the Lord come. 21 And whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved." 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you, by miracles, and prodigies, and signs, which God wrought by Him in the midst of you,

Romans 10:12-18

12 For there is no difference of Jew and Greek: for He being Lord of all is bountiful to all that call upon Him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 But how shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 and how shall they preach unless they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good tidings of peace, who bring the good tidings of good things? 16 But all have not obeyed the gospel: for Esaias saith, "Lord, who hath believed our report?" 17 So that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Verily their sound is gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

Romans 11:26-27

2 Corinthians 3:14-18

14 for unto this day the same veil remaineth unremoved in the reading of the old testament, which veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. 16 Though when it turneth unto the Lord, the veil is taken off: 17 now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all with unveiled face beholding, as in a glass, the glory of the Lord, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, as proceeding from the Spirit of the Lord.

Hebrews 2:8-10

8 For in putting all things under Him, He left nothing which was not to be in subjection to Him: though we do not yet see all things subjected to Him. 9 But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, in order to suffer death, that by the grace of God He might taste death for every man, crowned with glory and honor. 10 For it became Him for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect by sufferings:

11 Concerning whom we have much to say and difficult to be explained, since ye are become dull of hearing. 12 For whereas ye ought for the time to be teachers of others, ye have need again of some one to teach you the first rudiments of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk and not of solid food.
