³² For He shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and insulted, and abused, and spit upon, and they will scourge Him, and put Him to death:

²¹ And from that time began Jesus to acquaint his disciples, that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, and chief priests, and scribes; and be put to death, and be raised again on the third day.

⁶⁷ Then did they spit in his face, and beat Him about the head; and some struck Him with rods,

² so they bound Him and led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the Roman governor.

²⁸ and when they had stript Him, they covered Him with a scarlet robe; ²⁹ and having platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before Him in derision, saying, Hail king of the Jews: ³⁰ and they spit upon Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.

⁶⁵ And they spit upon Him, and blind-folded Him, and then buffeted Him and said to Him, prophesy who it was: and the officers struck him with their rods.

¹ And as soon as ever it was light the chief priests holding a consultation with the elders and scribes, they and the whole sanhedrim, bound Jesus, and carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.

¹⁷ and they clad Him in purple, and platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, ¹⁸ and saluted Him, saying, Hail king of the Jews; ¹⁹ and struck Him on the head with a reed, and spit upon Him, and bowed their knees, and did Him homage. ²⁰ And when they had thus abused Him, they took off the purple from Him, and put his own clothes on Him, and brought Him out to crucify Him.

⁶³ And the men that laid hold on Jesus, insulted and abused Him; ⁶⁴ and when they had blind-folded Him, they struck Him on the face, and asked Him, saying, Prophesy who it was that smote thee. ⁶⁵ And many other things spake they against Him, blaspheming Him.

¹ Then they all rose up and led Him to Pilate.

¹¹ But Herod with his soldiers set Him at nought and insulted Him, and put on Him a gaudy robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood looking on, and even the rulers also with them derided Him, saying, He saved others, let Him save Himself, if He be the Christ the chosen of God.

²² And upon his saying these things, one of the officers that stood by struck Jesus, saying, Dost thou answer the high-priest thus?

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the pretorium: (now it was morning) and they themselves went not in to the court, least they should be defiled, and so might not eat of the passover.

³⁰ They answered him, If He were not a malefactor, we should not have delivered Him to thee.

³⁵ Pilate replied, Am I a Jew? thine own nation, and the chief priests, have delivered thee to me: what hast thou done?

¹ Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged Him. ² And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, ³ and threw a purple robe about Him, and said, "Hail king of the Jews," and struck Him with their hands. ⁴ Pilate therefore came out again, and saith unto them, Behold I bring Him out to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in Him. ⁵ So Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, "Behold the man."

²³ (as ye yourselves also know,) Him being given up by the determinate counsel and fore-knowlege of God ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

¹³ The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied before Pilate, when he determined to release Him.
