²¹ But he that acts according to truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

⁴⁷ And when Jesus saw Nathaniel coming towards Him, He saith concerning him, "Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile."

³⁹ Ye search the scriptures; for ye think that in them ye have eternal life:

⁴ Abide therefore in me, and I will abide in you: for as the branch cannot bear fruit of it self, unless it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in me, and I in him, beareth much fruit: but without me ye can do nothing.

¹¹ These were more ingenuous than those at Thessalonica; for they received the word with all readiness of mind, searching the scriptures daily, whether these things were so. ¹² And therefore many of them believed: and of the Grecian women of quality, and of men likewise not a few.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his favor to me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

¹² For this is our rejoicing, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and pious sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and especially towards you.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, ²³ gentleness, goodness, fidelity, meekness, temperance: against such things there is no law.

⁸ He then, who soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he, that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

⁹ walk therefore as children of light, (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,)

¹¹ being full of the fruits of righteousness which are through Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of God.

¹³ for it is God that worketh in you both to will, and to work, out of his own good-pleasure.

²⁹ in order to which I also labour, striving earnestly according to his energy which operates in me with power.

²¹ make you perfect in every good work, to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²² Having therefore purified your souls by obedience to the truth, through the Spirit, to brotherly love unfeigned, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

⁵ And to this giving all diligence, add to your faith fortitude; ⁶ and to fortitude knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience piety; ⁷ and to piety brotherly affection; and to brotherly affection charity. ⁸ For if these be in you and abound, they will not suffer you to be idle, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he, that hath not these, is blind, or short-sighted, having forgot his baptismal purification from his former sins. ¹⁰ Wherefore, my brethren, be the more diligent thus to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.

⁶ If we say that we have communion with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practise the truth:

²⁷ But the unction, which ye have received from Him, abideth in you; and therefore ye have no need that any should teach you: since this very unction teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth and not falshood; even as that hath taught you, abide in Him. ²⁸ And now, little children, abide, I say, in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and may not be ashamed before Him at his coming. ²⁹ If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one, who practiseth righteousness, is born of Him.

¹² No one hath ever seen God: but if we love one another, God dwelleth in us and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we are in Him, and He in us; because He hath given us of his Spirit.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love which God hath towards us: for God is love; and he, that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him.

¹¹ Beloved, do not thou follow that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doth good is of God: but he, that doth evil, hath not seen God.

¹ And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, These things saith He that hath the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead: ² be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die; for I have not found thy works perfect in the sight of God.
