¹ My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we who are such shall pass a stricter trial than others: for in many things we all offend;

¹ Judge not, that ye be not judged: ² for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured back again to you.

¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why doth your master eat with publicans and sinners?

²⁴ The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord:

⁸ But be not ye called Rabbi; for one is your instructor even Christ, and ye are all brethren. ⁹ Neither call any man upon earth Father; for one is your Father, who is in heaven: ¹⁰ neither be ye called masters; for one is your master, even Christ.

¹³ But wo unto you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites, who shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, nor suffer those that are entering to go in.

³⁷ Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

⁴⁷ And that servant, who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself to do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes; ⁴⁸ but he that knew it not, and did things deserving stripes, shall be beaten with few: for to whomsoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will demand the more.

² And he called him, and said unto him, What is this I hear of thee? give up the accounts of thy stewardship, for thou canst be no longer steward.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel and knowest not these things?

¹ Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers, as Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenean, and Manaen who had been educated with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul;

²⁶ Wherefore I call you to witness this day, that I am clear from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not failed to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

²⁰ a light to them that are in the darkness, an instructor of the simple, a teacher of babes, having the form of the knowledge and of the truth which is in the law. ²¹ Thou then, who teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? Thou, that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

² Now it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. ³ But to me it is of very small moment to be judged by you, or by any man's judgement; nor indeed do I judge myself: ⁴ (for I am conscious to myself of nothing; though I am not hereby justified;) but He that judgeth me is the Lord. ⁵ Wherefore judge nothing before the time; even until the Lord come, who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every one have praise from God.

²⁹ for he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgement against himself, not distinguishing the Lord's body. ³⁰ For this many among you are weak and infirm, and several are fallen asleep. ³¹ If then we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged: ³² but when judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

²⁸ And God hath placed you accordingly in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miraculous powers, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, and various kinds of tongues.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, that every one may receive for the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it were good or bad.

¹¹ And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry,

⁷ desiring to be teachers of the law, though they neither understand what they say, nor what things they assert.

⁷ for which I was appointed a herald and an apostle. I speak the truth in Christ, I lie not; I am a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

¹¹ and an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles:

¹⁷ Be ruled by those that are your guides, and submit to them: for they watch for your souls; (as those that must give an account) that they may do it with joy and not with uneasiness: for this were unprofitable for you.

³ nor as lording it over the people, but being examples to the flock.
