¹ Let brotherly love continue.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; ---as I have loved you, that ye also love one another: for by this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, ³⁵ if ye have mutual love to each other.

¹⁷ These commands I give you, that ye should love one another.

¹ And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord.

⁴⁴ And all that believed were together, and had all things common. ⁴⁵ And they sold their possessions and goods, and distributed to all, according as any one had need. ⁴⁶ And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

³² And the heart and soul of the multitude that believed was one: no one called any of his possessions his own property, but they had all things common.

⁹ Let love be unfeigned. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good; ¹⁰ be tenderly affected with brotherly love to each other, in honor preferring one another:

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.

¹³ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only abuse not this liberty for an occasion to indulge the flesh, but by mutual love serve one another.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

³ endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: for there is but one body and one Spirit,

² even as Christ hath loved us, and given Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet perfume.

¹ If therefore there be any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any participation of the Spirit, ² if any bowels of compassion, compleat ye my joy, be like-minded, maintaining the same love, with your souls united, in attending to the one thing needful. ³ Do nothing through strife or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind each esteeming others better than themselves.

⁹ But as to brotherly love, ye need not that I write unto you; for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. ¹⁰ And indeed ye do it to all the brethren, that are in all Macedonia; but we exhort you, brethren, to abound in it more and more:

³ We ought always to give thanks to God on your account, my brethren, as it is fit; because your faith increaseth greatly, and the love of every one of you towards each other aboundeth:

¹⁰ For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewn to his name, by having ministred to the saints, and yet ministring. ¹¹ And we desire that every one of you would shew the same diligence to acquire the full assurance of hope even unto the end:

²⁴ (for He is faithful who hath promised) and let us observe each other to the incitement of love and good works:

²² Having therefore purified your souls by obedience to the truth, through the Spirit, to brotherly love unfeigned, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

¹⁷ Give due honor to all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

⁸ Finally, my beloved, be unanimous, be sympathizing, love as brethren, be compassionate, be courteous:

⁸ having above all things fervent love to each other; for love will cover a multitude of sins.

⁷ and to piety brotherly affection; and to brotherly affection charity.

⁹ Now he that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is still in darkness: ¹⁰ whereas, he that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and is in no danger of stumbling.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doth not practise righteousness, and he who loveth not his brother, is not of God: ¹¹ for this is the injunction which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another: not as Cain who was of the evil one, and slew his brother; ¹² and why did he slay him? because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. ¹³ Wonder not then, my brethren, if the world hate you: ¹⁴ since we know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren: he, that loveth not his brother, remaineth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But if any one, who hath the good things of the world, seeth his brother in want, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue only, but in deed and in truth.

²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He hath given us a charge to do.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is from God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He, that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. ⁹ In this was the love of God manifested towards us, that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

²⁰ I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for how can he, that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, love God whom he hath not seen?

⁵ And now I beseech thee, Lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we may love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.

⁴ Yet I have somewhat against thee; for thou hast left thy first love.
