¹ Now the apostles and brethren that were in Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

¹¹ but I tell you, that many shall come from the east and from the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven;

⁵ And they went into the sepulchre and saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white robe; and they were affrighted:

³² and the glory of thy people Israel."

¹⁴ Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John: ¹⁵ who when they were come down prayed for them that they might receive the holy Spirit: (for He was not yet fallen upon any of them,

³⁴ Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: ³⁵ but in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to Him. ³⁶ According to the declaration which He made to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. ³⁷ Ye know the report that was spread through all Judea, having begun from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached: concerning Jesus of Nazareth, ³⁸ how God anointed Him with the holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil: for God was with Him.

²⁷ And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they related what God had done by them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

³ They therefore, being brought forward on their way by the church, passed through Phenicia and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles: and they gave great joy to all the brethren.

⁷ Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ hath received us, to the glory of God. ⁸ Now Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the manifestation of the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy, as it is written, "For this cause will I celebrate Thee among the Gentiles, and sing praises unto thy name." ¹⁰ And again he saith, "Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people." ¹¹ And again, "Praise the Lord, all ye nations, praise Him, all ye people." ¹² And again Esaias saith, "There shall be a root of Jesse, and one that shall rise to rule over the Gentiles: in Him shall the Gentiles trust."

¹⁷ nor went I up to Jerusalem to those that were apostles before me, but I departed into Arabia, and afterwards returned again to Damascus. ¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and I staid with him fifteen days. ¹⁹ But I saw no other of the apostles, except James the brother of our Lord. ²⁰ (Now in what I write to you, behold, before God, I do not lie.) ²¹ Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia, ²² and was not known in person to the churches of Judea, which were in Christ.
