⁷ covereth all faults, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

²² and ye shall be hated by all men for professing my name; but he that perseveres to the end shall certainly be saved.

³⁷ And behold a woman in the city, that was a sinner, when she knew that He was at table in the pharisee's house, ³⁸ brought an alabaster-box of ointment, and stood at his feet behind Him, weeping, and washed his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. ³⁹ But when the pharisee that invited Him saw it, he said within himself, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what sort of a woman this is that toucheth Him; for she is a notorious sinner.

⁴⁴ and turning to the woman, He said to Simon, Dost thou see this woman? I came into thine house, and thou gavest me no water for my feet; but she has bathed my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me not the respect of a kiss; but this woman, ever since she came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet. ⁴⁶ Thou didst not anoint my head with common oil, but she hath anointed even my feet with sweet ointment.

⁴ And he ran before and got up into a sycamore-tree that he might see Him; for He was to pass by that way. ⁵ And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, Zaccheus, make haste and come down; for to-day I must abide at thy house. ⁶ And he made haste and came down, and received Him with joy. ⁷ And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone to be guest with a wicked man. ⁸ But Zaccheus stood up and said unto Jesus, Behold, Lord, the half of my substance I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any one wrongfully, I restore him fourfold. ⁹ Then said Jesus, This day is salvation come to this house, for as much as he also is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

²⁴ For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen, is not hope; for what any one sees, how doth he yet hope for?

¹ Now we that are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves:

¹² If others partake of this power over you, may not we rather? though we have not used this power; but we bear all things, least we should cause any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

¹⁸ What is my reward then but this? that when I preach I may make the gospel of Christ not expensive, that so I may not abuse my power in the gospel. ¹⁹ For though I am free from all, yet I have made myself a servant to all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; that is, to those, who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law: ²¹ and to those without the law as without the law, (not being without law to God, but under the law to Christ) that I might gain those who are without the law. ²² To the weak I became as the weak, that I might gain the weak: I became all things to all men, that I might by every means save some.

⁴ Charity beareth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity is not insolent, is not puffed up,

⁸ I trespassed on other churches, receiving maintenance from them for your service. ⁹ And when I was present among you, and in want, I was chargeable to no one. For the brethren that came from Macedonia supplied my want: and in every thing I have kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so I will keep myself. ¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, this boast shall not be taken from me in the regions of Achaia. ¹¹ Wherefore? because I love you not? ¹² God knoweth. But what I do, I will do, that I may cut off occasion from those that desire an occasion of boasting or censure, that in what they boast of they may be found to do even as we do.

² Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

⁴ so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God, for your patience and faith under all your persecutions and afflictions which ye endure.

³ Do thou therefore endure hardship, as becomes a good soldier of Jesus Christ. ⁴ No one, that enters into military service, embarrasseth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him. ⁵ And if any one contend in the public games, he gains not the crown unless he contend fairly. ⁶ The husbandman must labour first, in order to partake of the fruits. ⁷ Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. ⁸ Remember Jesus Christ of the seed of David, who was raised from the dead, according to my gospel: ⁹ for whose sake I suffer trouble even unto bonds, as if I were a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ Therefore I submit to every thing for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is by Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

²⁴ but to be gentle towards all men, ready to teach, patient under injuries,

¹¹ sufferings, which befel me at Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and how the Lord delivered me out of them all.

⁵ But be thou watchful in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, give full proof of thy ministry.

¹³ Let us then go out unto Him without the camp, bearing his reproach: for we have here no continuing city,

¹² Happy is the man who sustaineth temptation; for being approved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

²⁴ Who Himself bare our sins in his own body on the cross, that we being dead to sins, might live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye are healed.

⁸ having above all things fervent love to each other; for love will cover a multitude of sins.
