⁸ And, departing quickly from the sepulchre, with fear and great joy, they ran to announce it to His disciples.

⁸ And, going out, they fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment seized them. And they said nothing to any one; for they were afraid.

³⁶ Now, as they were telling these things, He Himself stood in the midst of them, and saith to them, "Peace be to you!" ³⁷ But, being terrified and frightened, they were supposing that they were beholding a spirit. ³⁸ And He said to them, "Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do questionings arise in your heart? ³⁹ See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; handle Me, and see; because a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as ye behold Me having." ⁴⁰ And, saying this, He showed them His hands and His feet. ⁴¹ And, while they still disbelieved for joy, and marvelled, He said to them, "Have ye here anything to eat?"

²⁰ Verily, verily, I say to you, that ye will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice: ye will be made sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

²² And ye, therefore, now, indeed, have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one takes away from you.

²⁰ And, having said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples, therefore, rejoiced, when they saw the Lord. ²¹ Jesus, therefore, said to them again, "Peace be to you! As the Father hath sent Me, I also send you."
