⁴ But there were some who were much displeased among themselves, saying, "To what purpose has this waste of the ointment been made? ⁵ For this ointment could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given to the poor!" And they were murmuring against her.

⁸ She did what she could: she anointed My body beforehand for the burial.

³⁷ And He cometh and findeth them sleeping, and saith to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? were you not able to watch one hour? ³⁸ Watch, and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit, indeed, is willing, but the flesh is weak."

¹ In the meantime, the vast multitude having been gathered together, so as to tread one upon another, He began to say to His disciples, first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. ² But nothing has been covered up, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

⁴⁶ the lord of that servant will come in a day when he is not expecting him, and in an hour which he knows not, and will cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the unfaithful.

Why did you conceive in your heart this thing? You did not lie to men, but to God." ⁵ And Ananias, hearing these words, falling down, expired; and great fear came upon all who heard it; ⁶ but the young men, rising up, wrapped him round; and, bearing him out, buried him. ⁷ Now it came to pass about three hours after, that his wife also, not knowing what had happened, came in; ⁸ and Peter made answer to her, "Tell me, if ye sold the place for so much?" And she said, "Yes, for so much." ⁹ But Peter said to her, "Why is it that it was agreed by you to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." ¹⁰ And she immediately fell at his feet, and expired; and, coming in, the young men found her dead; and, carrying her forth, they buried her by her husband.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, "Four days ago, until this hour, I was praying during the ninth hour in my house; and, behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, ³¹ and says, 'Cornelius, your prayer was heard, and your alms were remembered before God. ³² Send, therefore, to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is surnamed Peter; the same is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.' ³³ At once, therefore, I sent to you; and you did well, in coming. Now, therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things that have been commanded you by the Lord." ³⁴ And Peter, opening his mouth, said, "Of a truth, I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons; ³⁵ but, in every nation, he who fears Him, and works righteousness, is acceptable to Him.

¹⁷ that the residue of men may seek after the Lord, even all the gentiles upon whom My name has been called,' ¹⁸ saith the Lord, Who maketh these things known from of old.

²⁸ As touching the Gospel, they are enemies for your sake; but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Father's sake; ²⁹ for the gifts and calling of God are not repented of.

¹ I beseech you, therefore, brethren, through the mercies of God, to present, your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your rational service;

⁹ and that the gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it has been written, "For this cause, I will confess to Thee among the gentiles; and to Thy name will I sing praise." ¹⁰ And again He saith, "Rejoice, ye gentiles with His people." ¹¹ And again, "Praise the Lord, all ye gentiles, and let all the people extol Him."

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the gentiles, ministering the Gospel of God, that the offering up of the gentiles may become acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹³ Know ye not that those who are occupied upon sacred things eat of the things of the temple? and that those who wait at the altar partake with the altar?

²¹ Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

²¹ for, in your eating, each one takes his own supper before others; and one is hungry, and another is drunken! ²² What! have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the assembly of God, and put to shame those who have them not? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.

²⁷ Therefore, whosoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body, and blood of the Lord. ²⁸ But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup; ²⁹ for he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the body. ³⁰ For this cause, many among you are weak and sick, and not a few sleep. ³¹ But, if we discerned ourselves, we would not be judged; ³² but, being judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

¹² for, if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he has not.

² "Honor your father and mother" (which, indeed, is the first commandment with a promise),

²¹ for all are seeking their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ But I have all, and abound; I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, an odor of sweet smell, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

⁸ I desire, therefore, that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing;

¹ Let as many as are slaves under a yoke account their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the teaching be not blasphemed. ² And let those having believing masters not despise them, because they are brethren; but let them serve them the more, because they are faithful and beloved, who are partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

¹⁵ which in His own times the Happy and Only Potentate will show, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

⁹ Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting, ¹⁰ not keeping back anything, but showing forth all good faith; that they may adorn the teaching of our Savior God in all things.

²⁶ For such a High Priest was befitting us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; ²⁷ Who hath no necessity daily, as the high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for those of the people (for this He did once for all, when He offered up Himself);

³⁸ "But My righteous one shall live by faith, and, if he draw back, My soul has no pleasure in him."

²⁹ for, verily, our God is a consuming fire.

¹⁵ Through Him, therefore, let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually; that is, the fruit of our lips making confession to His name. ¹⁶ But, of well-doing, and contributing, be not forgetful; for with such sacrifices God is well-pleased.

¹³ Come now, ye who say, "To-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend one year there, and trade, and get gain," ¹⁴ (ye who, indeed, know nothing of to-morrow! what is your life? for ye are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away); ¹⁵ instead of your saying, "If the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that." ¹⁶ But now ye are glorying in your boastings! all such glorying is evil.

¹⁷ And, if ye call on Him as Father, Who, without respect of persons, judgeth according to each one's work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear;

¹⁷ Honor all men; love the brotherhood; fear God; honor the king. ¹⁸ Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the perverse. ¹⁹ For this is acceptable, if, for conscience toward God, one endures griefs, suffering wrongfully.

² feed the flock of God which is among you, overseeing it, not by constraint, but willingly; nor yet for base gain, but of a ready mind;

⁸ And, when He took the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having, each, a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

³ And another angel came, and stood over the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. ⁴ And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God out of the hand of the angel.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in Heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world became our Lord's and His Christ's; and He will reign forever and ever."

⁴ Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? because Thou only art holy; because all the nations shall come, and worship before Thee; because Thy righteous acts were made manifest."

⁸ But, for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, their part shall be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death."
