Peter was grieved, because He said to him the third time "Do you fondly love Me?" and he said to Him, "Lord, Thou knowest all things; Thou knowest that I do fondly love Thee." Jesus saith to him, "Feed My sheep.

² And, while they were ministering to the Lord, and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate now to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

²³ And, having appointed elders for them in every assembly; and, having prayed with fastings, they commended them to the Lord on Whom they had believed.

¹⁷ And, having sent from Miletus to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the assembly.

²⁹ I know that, after my departure, grievous wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock;

² to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, and called saints, with all, in every place, who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

²⁶ I, therefore, so run, as not uncertainly I so fight, as not beating the air. ²⁷ But I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage; lest, by any means, after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

³² Give no occasion of stumbling, either to Jews or Greeks, or to the assembly of God:

²² What! have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the assembly of God, and put to shame those who have them not? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.

⁸ For to one, indeed, is given through the Spirit a word of wisdom; and to another, a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; ⁹ to another, faith, in the same Spirit; and to another, gifts of healings, in the one Spirit; ¹⁰ and to another, workings of mighty deeds; and to another, prophecy; and to another, discerning of spirits; to another, various kinds of tongues; and to another, interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, distributing to each one, severally, even as He willeth.

²⁸ And God, indeed, set some in the assembly: first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; after that, miracles; then, gifts of healings, helps, governments, various kinds of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? ³¹ But desire earnestly the greater gifts; and a still more excellent way I show you.

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the assembly of God.

¹³ For ye heard of my conduct formerly in Judaism; that, beyond measure, I was persecuting the assembly of God, and laying it waste;

⁷ in Whom we have our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,

¹⁴ which is an earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

¹¹ And He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

¹ Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

¹⁴ in Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins;

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, "Take heed to the ministry which you received in the Lord, that you fulfill it."

² It is needful, therefore, that the bishop be irreproachable, a husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, hospitable, apt to teach,

⁵ (but, if one knows not how to preside over his own house, how will he take care of an assembly of God?);

¹⁵ but, if I delay, that you may know how you ought to behave yourself in a house of God, which, indeed, is an assembly of the living God, a pillar and basis of the truth, ¹⁶ And, confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness; God was manifested in flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

¹⁴ Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership.

¹⁶ Take heed to yourself, and to the teaching; continue in them; for, doing this, you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

¹⁷ Let elders who preside well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in word and teaching.

⁷ For the bishop must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain;

¹² nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, entered, once for all, into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption. ¹³ For, if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctifies to the purification of the flesh; ¹⁴ how much more shall the blood of Christ, Who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁵ looking carefully, lest there be any one falling short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness, springing up, trouble you, and through it many be defiled;

¹⁷ Obey those who are your leaders, and submit to them; for they watch in behalf of your souls, as those who are to give an account; that they may do this with joy, and not with sighing; for this would be unprofitable for you.

¹⁸ knowing that, not with perishable things, with silver or gold, were ye redeemed from your vain course of life handed down from your fathers; ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot;

⁹ But ye are "an elect race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation," a people for a possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

²⁵ For, as sheep, ye were going astray; but now ye returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

² feed the flock of God which is among you, overseeing it, not by constraint, but willingly; nor yet for base gain, but of a ready mind; ³ neither as lording it over the allotted charges, but becoming examples to the flock;

⁷ but, if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with One another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to open its seals; because Thou wast slain, and didst redeem to God, by Thy blood, some of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;
