⁴ And, being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which said He, "Ye heard from Me;

²⁰ for it is not ye that speak, but, the Spirit of your Father Who speaketh in you.

¹³ If ye, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

¹² for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what ye ought to say."

⁴¹ And, while they still disbelieved for joy, and marvelled, He said to them, "Have ye here anything to eat?" ⁴² And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish; ⁴³ and, taking it, He ate before them.

⁴⁹ And, behold, I send forth the promise of My Father upon you; but abide ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high."

³⁹ But this He spake concerning the Spirit, Whom those who believed on Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

¹⁶ and I will ask of the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, that He may be with you forever;

²⁶ But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all things that I told you. ²⁷ "Peace I leave for you; My own peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be fearful. ²⁸ Ye heard that I said to you, 'I go away, and I come to you.' If ye loved Me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; because the Father is greater than I.

²⁶ "When the Advocate shall come, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, Who proceedeth from the Father, He will testify concerning Me;

⁷ But I tell you the truth: it is expedient for you that I go away; for, if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but, if I go, I will send Him to you, ⁸ And, having come, He will convict the world respecting sin, and righteousness, and judgment: ⁹ respecting sin, because they believe not on Me; ¹⁰ respecting righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye no longer behold Me; ¹¹ and respecting judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. ¹² "I have yet many things to say to you; but ye are not able to hear them now. ¹³ But, when He, the Spirit of truth, shall come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak from Himself; but whatsoever He heareth He will speak; and He will declare to you things to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify Me; because He will take of Mine, and will declare it to you. ¹⁵ All things whatsoever the Father hath are Mine; on this account, I said, that He taketh of Mine, and will declare it to you.

²² And, having said this, He breathed upon them, and said to them, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit.

³³ Being, therefore, exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He was pouring forth this which ye both see and hear.
