¹⁶ Every Scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

⁵² and He said to them, "Therefore, every scribe, having been made a disciple to the Kingdom of heaven, is like a householder, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old."

⁴² Jesus saith to them, "Did ye never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made head of a corner; this was from the Lord, and it is marvellous in our eyes?'

³¹ "But concerning the resurrection of the dead, did ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, ³² 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

⁴³ He saith to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying,

⁵⁴ How, then, could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?"

⁵⁶ But all this has come to pass, that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples, forsaking Him, fled.

²⁴ Jesus said to them, "Is it not on this account that ye err, because ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God?

³⁶ David himself said in the Holy Spirit, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on My right hand, until I put Thy enemies underneath Thy feet.'

²⁰ For every one that practices evil hates the Light, and comes not to the Light, lest his works should be reproved;

³⁵ If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

¹⁶ "Brethren, it was necessary that the Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spake beforehand, through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who arrested Jesus;

²⁵ The same had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and, being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the immersion of John.

²⁰ how I shrank not from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and from teaching you publicly, and from house to house,

²⁷ for I shrank not from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁵ And, disagreeing among themselves, they were departing, when Paul uttered one declaration, "Well did the Holy Spirit speak through Isaiah, the prophet, to your fathers,

²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth;

² Much every way: first, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

²³ Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was reckoned to him;

⁴ For whatsoever things were written in former times were written for our instruction, that we through patience and through consolation of the Scriptures may have hope.

⁷ And to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for profiting.

⁸ And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the gentiles through faith, proclaimed beforehand the Gospel to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed."

¹¹ And He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ; ¹³ until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man—to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; ¹⁴ that we may no longer be babes, billow-tossed, and carried about with every wind of teaching, in the sleight of men, in the craftiness suited to the artifice of error; ¹⁵ but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, Who is the Head, Christ; ¹⁶ from Whom all the body, fitly framed and knit together through every joint of supply, according to the working in due measure of each single part, secures the growth of the body to the upbuilding of itself in love.

¹¹ and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them; ¹² for it is a shame even to speak of the things done by them in secret. ¹³ But all things, when reproved, are made manifest by the light; for all that makes manifest is light.

²⁵ in meekness correcting those opposing themselves, if peradventure God should give them repentance to a full knowledge of the truth,

² preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.

⁷ Wherefore, as the Holy Spirit saith, "To-day, if ye hear His voice,

¹² For the word of God is living, and effectual, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to a dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

¹ Now faith is an assurance of things hoped for, a sure persuasion of things not seen;

¹⁹ And we have the more sure prophetic word, to which ye do well to take heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the Morning Star arise in your hearts; ²⁰ knowing this, first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of one's own interpretation; ²¹ for prophecy was never brought by the will of man, but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
