¹ But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come; ² for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, intemperate, fierce, no lovers of good, ⁴ traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; ⁵ holding a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from these also turn away. ⁶ For of these are those who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, and led on by manifold desires, ⁷ always learning, and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth. ⁸ And as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also do these withstand the truth; men utterly corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith. ⁹ But they will proceed no further; for their folly will be fully manifest to all, as theirs also became. ¹⁰ But you did closely follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, ¹¹ persecutions, sufferings; what manner of things happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord delivered me. ¹² Yea, and all who wish to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. ¹³ But evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. ¹⁴ But do you abide in the, things which you learned and were assured of; knowing from whom you learned them; ¹⁵ and that, from a babe, you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ Every Scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; ¹⁷ that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly furnished for every good work.

¹³ "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for ye do not enter, neither do ye suffer those who are entering in to enter.

²⁷ "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye are like white-washed sepulchres, which outwardly, indeed, appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ So ye also outwardly, indeed, appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them ye will kill and crucify, and some ye will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;

⁵⁴ How, then, could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?"

⁵⁶ But all this has come to pass, that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples, forsaking Him, fled.

³ asking it as a favor against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, making an ambush, to kill him on the way. ⁴ Festus, therefore, answered, that Paul was held at Caesarea, and that he himself was about shortly to go out thither.

⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound to you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in every thing, may abound to every good work:

(I speak as beside myself) I am more; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths often; ²⁴ from the Jews five times I received forty stripes save one; ²⁵ thrice I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; thrice I suffered shipwreck; a night and a day I have spent in the deep; ²⁶ in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ in toil and hardship, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. ²⁸ Apart from those things without, that which is a pressure upon me daily, anxiety for all the assemblies.

⁵ Try yourselves, whether ye are in the faith; prove yourselves. Or know ye not as to yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless ye be rejected? ⁶ But I hope that ye shall know, that we are not rejected.

And the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many of the men died in consequence of the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel sounded; and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, that the third part of them might be darkened, and that the day might not shine for the third part of it, and the night in like manner. ¹³ And I saw, and heard an eagle flying in mid-heaven, saying with a great voice, "Woe, woe, woe, to those who dwell on the earth, by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!"

⁴ And his tail drags the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth. And the dragon has taken his stand before the woman who is about to bring forth; in order that, when she brings forth, he may devour her child.

⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and authority was given him to work forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name, and His Tabernacle, even those dwelling in Heaven.

¹⁴ And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those dwelling on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, who has the stroke of the sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And it was given to him to give spirit to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as worship not the image of the beast should be killed.

¹² merchandise of gold, and of silver, and of precious stone, and of pearls, and of fine linen, and of purple, and of silk, and of scarlet, and of every kind of fragrant wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel of most precious wood, and of brass, and of iron, and of marble, ¹³ and cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of slaves, and souls of men.

²³ and the light of a lamp shall in nowise shine in you any more: and the voice of bridegroom and of bride shall be heard in you no more; because your merchants were the princes of the earth; because by your sorcery were all the nations deceived.

¹⁰ And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he says to me, "See that you do it not: I am a fellow-servant of you and of your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
