1 John 4 Cross References - Worrell

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world. 2 In this ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ hath come in flesh is of God; 3 and every spirit that confesses not Jesus is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ, of which ye have heard that it is coming, and now it is in the world already. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He Who is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world; for this cause they speak of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God; he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears us not: from this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 7 Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God. 8 He that loves not never knew God; because God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever beheld God. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have beheld, and testify, that the Father hath sent the Son, as Savior of the world. 15 Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in Him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him. 17 In this has love been made perfect with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, even so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he who fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us. 20 If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God Whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that he who loves God loves his brother also.

14 And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld His glory—glory as of the Only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth. 15 John testifies concerning Him, and has cried, saying, "This was He of Whom I said, 'He That cometh after me hath become before me, because He was before me;'" 16 because out of His fulness we all received, and grace for grace: 17 because the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, Who is in the bosom of the Father, He declared Him.

25 Whom God set forth as a propitiation, through faith in His blood, for the manifestation of His righteousness, because of the passing over of the formerly-committed sins in the forbearance of God: 26 for the manifestation of His righteousness in the present time, to the end that He may be righteous, even when declaring righteous him who has faith in Jesus.

Romans 5:8-10

8 But God commendeth His own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more, therefore, being now justified by His blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son; much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by His life;

Romans 8:9-17

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if, indeed, the Spirit of God is dwelling in you. And, if any one has not the spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And, if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

10 And, if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 And, if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will make alive your mortal bodies through His Spirit dwelling in you.

Romans 8:11-17

11 And, if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will make alive your mortal bodies through His Spirit dwelling in you. 12 Accordingly, then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh; 13 for, if ye live according to the flesh, ye are going to die; but, if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, "Abba, Father."

Romans 8:15

15 For ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit Himself testifieth with our spirit, that we are children of God; 17 and, if children, heirs also; heirs, indeed, of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if, indeed, we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified with Him.

If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He Who spared not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Romans 8:37

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us.

9 For this, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not kill," "You shall not steal," "You shall not covet;" and, if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10 Love works no ill to one's neighbor: therefore, love is a fulfillment of the law.

Romans 16:18-19

18 For those who are such are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and, through their kind words and flattering speeches, they beguile the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience reached unto all. I rejoice, therefore, over you; but I wish you to be wise as to that which is good, but simple as to evil.

2 Corinthians 5:19-21

19 how that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having put in us the word of reconciliation. 20 On behalf of Christ, therefore, we are ambassadors, as though God were beseeching through us, we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God 21 Him Who knew no sin He made to be sin on our behalf, that we may become God's righteousness in Him.

11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfected, be comforted, think the same thing; be at peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

9 but, after having known God, or rather having been known by God, how are ye turning back again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which ye desire to be in bondage again?

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,

Galatians 5:22-25

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, continence; against such there is no law. 24 And those who are of Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with the passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.

Ephesians 2:2

2 in which ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the authority of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience; 3 among whom we also all once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest; 4 but God, being rich in mercy, on account of His great love wherewith He loved us,

Ephesians 2:4-5

4 but God, being rich in mercy, on account of His great love wherewith He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our offenses, made us alive with Christ (by grace ye have been saved),

Ephesians 2:20-22

20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the chief corner-stone; 21 in Whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing up into a holy temple in the Lord; 22 in Whom ye also are being built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 3:17

17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that ye, having been rooted and grounded in love,

Ephesians 4:31-5:2

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.

Ephesians 6:12-13

12 because to us the struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the principalities, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 On this account, take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day; and, having fully accomplished all, to stand.

11 and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

13 (bearing with one another, and freely forgiving one another, if any one have a complaint against any; even as the Lord freely forgave you, so also do ye):

1 Thessalonians 4:9-10

9 But concerning brotherly love, ye have no need that one write to you; for ye yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

1 Thessalonians 4:9

9 But concerning brotherly love, ye have no need that one write to you; for ye yourselves are taught by God to love one another; 10 and, in fact, ye do it to all the brethren who are in all Macedonia; but we exhort you, brethren, to abound yet more;

1 Thessalonians 5:21

21 but prove all things, hold fast that which is good.

2 Thessalonians 1:8

8 awarding vengeance to those who know not God, and to those who obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus;

2 Thessalonians 2:3-8

3 Let no one deceive you in any manner; because that day will not come, unless the falling away come first, and the man of lawlessness be revealed—the son of perdition; 4 he that opposes himself against, and exalts himself above, all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits in the temple of God, exhibiting himself as God. 5 Do ye not remember that, when I was yet with you, I was wont to tell you these things? 6 And now ye know what hinders his being revealed in his own season; 7 for the mystery of lawlessness is already working: only He Who hindereth will hinder, until He is taken out of the midst. 8 And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth, and will bring to nought by the manifestation of His presence; 9 him whose coming is according to the working of Satan in all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 and in all deceit of unrighteousness to those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And, for this cause, God sendeth them a working of delusion, that they may believe the lie;

1 Timothy 1:17

17 Now to the King of the ages, incorruptible, invisible, only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

16 And, confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness; God was manifested in flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

1 But the Spirit expressly saith, that in later times, some will fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and to teachings of demons,

13 But evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2 Timothy 4:3

3 For there will be a time when they will not endure the healthful teaching; but, having itching ears, they will for themselves heap up teachers according to their own desires;

Titus 3:3-5

3 For we also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving manifold desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But, when the kindness and the benevolence of God our Savior appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy, He saved us through a washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit;

Hebrews 1:5

5 For to whom of the angels said He at any time, "You are My Son; I this day have begotten you?" And again, "I will be to him a Father; and He shall be to me a Son?"

Hebrews 11:27

27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him Who is invisible.

Hebrews 12:2-3

2 looking away to the Author and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus; Who, in consideration of the joy lying before Him, endured the cross, despising shame, and hath taken a seat at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him Who hath endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye become weary, fainting in your souls.

Hebrews 12:28

28 Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear; 29 for, verily, our God is a consuming fire.

19 You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder!

James 2:22

22 You see that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith perfected;

1 Peter 1:8

8 Whom, not having seen, ye love; on Whom, though now not seeing Him, yet believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and full of glory;

1 Peter 1:22

22 Having purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned brotherly love, love one another from the heart earnestly;

1 Peter 2:24

24 Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by Whose bruise ye were healed.

1 Peter 3:8

8 And, finally, be ye all of one mind, compassionate, loving as brethren, tender-hearted, humble-minded;

1 Peter 3:16-18

16 having a good conscience; that, in whatever ye are spoken against, those who revile your good conduct may be put to shame. 17 For it is better, if the will of God should will it, that ye suffer for well-doing, than for evil-doing; 18 because Christ also suffered for sins once, a Righteous One in behalf of the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,

1 Peter 3:18-18

18 because Christ also suffered for sins once, a Righteous One in behalf of the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,

1 Peter 4:1-3

1 Christ, therefore, having suffered in flesh, do ye also arm yourselves with the same mind; because he who suffered in flesh has ceased from sin; 2 that ye no longer live the rest of your time in the flesh to the desires of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past is sufficient to have wrought the will of the gentiles, having walked in wantonness, lusts, wine-bibbings, revelings, carousings, and impious idolatries;

1 Peter 4:8

8 above all things, having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;

1 Peter 4:13-14

13 but, in so far as ye share in Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of His glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy. 14 If ye are reproached in Christ's name, happy are ye, because the Spirit of glory and that of God rests upon you.

1 Peter 5:12

12 Through Sylvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I wrote to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God; within which stand ye.

2 Peter 2:1

1 But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers, who, indeed, will stealthily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction: 2 and many will follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth will be defamed; 3 and, in covetousness, will they, with feigned words, make merchandise of you; for whom the judgment from of old lingers not, and their destruction slumbers not.

2 Peter 2:9

9 the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous enduring punishment unto the day of judgment;

2 Peter 3:2

2 that ye remember the words spoken before by holy prophets, and the commandments of the Lord and Savior by your apostles.

2 Peter 3:7

7 but the present heavens and the earth, by the same word, have been stored up for fire, being kept unto the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

1 John 1:1-3

1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we gazed upon, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life 2 (and the Life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you The Eternal Life; Who, indeed, was with the Father, and was manifested to us); 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you also, that ye also may have fellow-ship with us; and our fellowship also is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:5

5 And this is the message which we have heard from Him, and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and are walking in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth;

1 John 2:1-2

1 My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin. And, if any one sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous. 2 And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.

1 John 2:2-2

2 And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.

1 John 2:4

4 He who says, "I have known Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whosoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God has been perfected: in this we know that we are in Him.

1 John 2:9

9 He who says that he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now. 10 He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and knows not where he is going, because the darkness blinded his eyes.

1 John 2:13

13 I write to you, fathers, because ye have known Him Who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have conquered the evil one. I wrote to you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

1 John 2:18

18 Little children, it is the last hour; and, as ye heard that Anti-Christ is coming, even now many anti-christs have arisen; whence we know that it is the last hour.

1 John 2:22

22 Who is the liar, but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Anti-Christ, he that denies the Father and the Son. 23 Every one who denies the Son has not the Father either; he who confesses the Son has the Father also.

1 John 2:28

28 And now, little children, abide in Him; that, if He shall be manifested, we may have confidence, and not be put away from Him with shame at His coming. 29 If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one that does righteousness has been begotten of Him.

1 John 3:1

1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath given to us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.

1 John 3:3

3 And every one that has this hope on Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.

1 John 3:6

6 Every one that is abiding in Him sins not; whosoever sins has not seen Him nor known Him.

1 John 3:9-10

9 Whosoever has been begotten of God sins not; because His seed abides in him, and he cannot sin because he has been begotten of God. 10 In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the Devil: every one that does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that does not love his brother;

1 John 3:10-23

10 In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the Devil: every one that does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that does not love his brother; 11 because this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;

1 John 3:11

11 because this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; 12 not as Cain who was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 13 Marvel not, brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not abides in death.

1 John 3:14

14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not abides in death. 15 Every one that hates his brother is a murderer; and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16 In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren.

1 John 3:16

16 In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren.

1 John 3:16-17

16 In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren. 17 But whosoever possesses the goods of the world, and beholds his brother having need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

1 John 3:17-17

17 But whosoever possesses the goods of the world, and beholds his brother having need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

1 John 3:17

17 But whosoever possesses the goods of the world, and beholds his brother having need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue, but in deed and in truth.

1 John 3:18

18 Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 Hereby we shall know that we are of the truth, and we shall assure our heart before Him;

1 John 3:19-21

19 Hereby we shall know that we are of the truth, and we shall assure our heart before Him; 20 because, if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

1 John 3:20-21

20 because, if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God;

1 John 3:21-21

21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God; 22 and whatsoever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and do the things that are pleasing before Him. 23 And this is the commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

1 John 3:23

23 And this is the commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24 And he that keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him; and in this we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit Whom He gave to us.

1 John 4:1

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world. 2 In this ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ hath come in flesh is of God; 3 and every spirit that confesses not Jesus is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ, of which ye have heard that it is coming, and now it is in the world already. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He Who is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:6

6 We are of God; he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears us not: from this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 7 Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God. 8 He that loves not never knew God; because God is love.

1 John 4:8-9

8 He that loves not never knew God; because God is love.

1 John 4:8-10

8 He that loves not never knew God; because God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him.

1 John 4:9-10

9 In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:10-10

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever beheld God. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

1 John 4:12-13

12 No one has ever beheld God. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.

1 John 4:13-13

13 In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.

1 John 4:15-16

15 Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in Him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him.

1 John 4:16-16

16 And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him. 17 In this has love been made perfect with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, even so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he who fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us. 20 If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God Whom he has not seen.

1 John 4:20

20 If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God Whom he has not seen.

1 John 5:1

1 Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten of God; and every one who loves Him Who begat loves him also that has been begotten of Him.

1 John 5:4

4 because all that has been begotten of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. 5 And who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:9

9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; because this is the testimony of God, that He hath testified concerning His Son.

1 John 5:11

11 And this is the testimony, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

1 John 5:19

19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying in the evil one.

2 John 1:7

7 Because many deceivers went out into the world, who confess not Jesus Christ as coming in flesh. This is the deceiver and the Anti-Christ.

Jude 1:17

17 But do ye, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Revelation 2:2

2 "I know your works and your toil, and your patience, and that you cannot bear evil men; and you tried those who call themselves apostles, and are not, and found them false;

Revelation 12:9

9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole habitable earth; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

11 and they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul, even to death.
