¹ For I know that if this earthly tent in which I live is taken down, I have a building in heaven which comes from God, a house not built by human hands but eternal.

⁵⁸ "We ourselves have heard Him say, 'I will tear down this temple built by men's hands, and in three days I will build another, made without hands.'"

² In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; if there were not, I would have told you, for I am going away to make ready a place for you. ³ And if I go and make it ready for you, I will come back and take you to be face to face with me, so that you may always be right where I am.

⁹ for we belong to God as His fellow-workers; you belong to God as His field to be tilled, as His building to be built.

⁴⁶ But it is not the spiritual that comes first; it is the physical, and then the spiritual. ⁴⁷ The first man was made of the dust of the earth; the second Man is from heaven. ⁴⁸ Now those who are made of the dust are just like him who was first made of dust, and those who are heavenly are like Him who is from heaven,

⁷ But I am keeping this jewel in an earthen jar, to prove that its surpassing power is God's, not mine.

⁴ For I who am still in my tent am sighing beneath my burdens, because I do not want it to be put off but to put on the other over it, so that my dying body may be absorbed in life.

¹¹ And through your union with Him you once received, not a hand-performed circumcision but one performed by Christ, in stripping you of your lower nature,

¹² This is why I am suffering so, but I am not ashamed of it, for I know whom I have trusted and I am absolutely sure that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

¹¹ But when Christ came as the High Priest of good things that have already taken place, He went by way of that greater and more perfect tent of worship, not made by human hands, that is, not belonging to this material creation,

²⁴ For it was not a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one, that Christ entered, but it was into heaven itself that He went, in order now to appear for us in the very presence of God.

¹⁰ For he was confidently looking forward to that city with the solid foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

⁴ yes, to an inheritance that is imperishable, unsullied, and unfading, which is kept in heaven for you

¹³ Yet I think it right, as long as I live in this bodily tent, to arouse you by a reminder, ¹⁴ because I know that the removal of my bodily tent is to be very soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me.

¹¹ If all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what men you ought to be! What holy and pious lives you ought to lead,

² Dearly beloved, we are now God's children, but what we are going to be has not been unveiled. We know that if it is unveiled, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love our brothers. Whoever does not continue to love continues still in death.

¹⁹ In this way we shall know by experience that we are on the side of the truth, and satisfy our consciences in God's sight,

¹⁹ We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one. ²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us insight to recognize the True One; and we are in union with the True One through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
