1 John 5:1 Cross References - Williams

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His child.

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

¹² But to all who did accept Him, and trust in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God, ¹³ who were born of God and not of natural blood nor of physical or human impulse.

³ Jesus answered him, "I most solemnly say to you, no one can ever see the kingdom of God, unless he is born from above."

⁶⁹ and we have come to believe, yes more, we know by experience, that you are the Holy One of God."

⁴² Then Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. No, indeed, I have not come on my own authority, but He has sent me.

²³ Whoever continues to hate me continues to hate my Father too.

³⁶ As they continued down the road, they came to some water, and the official said, "Look! here is some water! What is there to keep me from being baptized?"

⁹ For if with your lips you acknowledge the fact that Jesus is Lord, and in your hearts you believe that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For in their hearts people exercise the faith that leads to right standing, and with their lips they make the acknowledgment which means salvation.

¹⁸ In accordance with His will He made us His children by the message of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In accordance with His great mercy He has begotten us anew to an ever living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead;

²² Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth, in sincere love for the brotherhood you must love one another heartily and fervently, ²³ because you have been born anew, not from a germ that perishes but from one that does not perish, by the word of the living and everlasting God.

¹⁰ Whoever continues to love his brother is always in the light, and he is no hindrance to others.

²² Who is the notorious liar, if it is not the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is the real Antichrist, the man who disowns the Father and the Son. ²³ No one who disowns the Son can have the Father. Whoever owns the Son has the Father too.

²⁹ If you know that He is upright, you must know that everyone who practices uprightness is born of Him.

⁹ No one who is born of God makes a practice of sinning, because the God-given life-principle continues to live in him, and so he cannot practice sinning, because he is born of God.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love our brothers. Whoever does not continue to love continues still in death.

¹⁷ But if anyone has the world's means of supporting life and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how can love to God remain in him?

² In this way you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spiritual utterance which owns that Jesus Christ has come in human form comes from God,

⁷ Dearly beloved, let us practice loving one another, because love originates with God, and everyone who practices loving is a child of God and knows God by experience.

¹⁴ We have seen and now testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever owns that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in union with him and he in union with God.

²⁰ If anyone says, "I love God," and yet habitually hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

⁴ for every child of God continues to conquer the world. Our faith is the victory that has conquered the world.
