1 About spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be without information.
2 You know that when you were heathen you were in the habit of going off, wherever you might be led, after idols that could not speak.
3 So I want to inform you that no one speaking under the power of the Spirit of God can say, "Jesus is accursed!" and no one except one under the power of the Holy Spirit can really say, "Jesus is Lord!"
4 There are varieties of gifts, but the Spirit is the same in all;
5 there are varieties of service, but the Lord to be served is the same;
6 there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who does all things by putting energy in us all.
7 To each of us is given a special spiritual illumination for the common good.
8 To one, wise speech is given by the Spirit; to another, by the same Spirit, intelligent speech is given;
9 to another, through union with the same Spirit, faith; to another, by one and the same Spirit, power to cure the sick;
10 to another, power for working wonders; to another, prophetic insight; to another, the power to discriminate between the true Spirit and false spirits; to another, various ecstatic utterances; and to another, the power to explain them.
11 But the one and same Spirit accomplishes all these achievements, and apportions power to each of us as He chooses.
12 For just as the human body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body, many as they are, constitute but one body, so it is with Christ.
13 For by one Spirit all of us, Jews or Greeks, slaves or freemen, have been baptized into one body, and were all imbued with one Spirit.
14 For the body does not consist of one part but of many.
15 If the foot says, "Since I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," that does not make it any less a part of the body.
16 If the ear says, "Since I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," that does not make it any less a part of the body.
17 If all the body were an eye, how could we hear? If all the body were an ear, how could we smell?
18 But as it now is, God has placed the parts, every one of them, in the body just as He wanted them to be.
19 If they were all one part, how could it be a body?
20 But as it now is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I do not need you," or the hand to the feet, "I do not need you."
22 No, on the contrary, even those parts of the body that seem to be most delicate are indispensable,
23 and the parts of it we deem devoid of honor we dress with special honor, and our ill-shaped parts receive more careful attention,
24 while our well-shaped parts do not want for anything. Yes, God has perfectly adjusted the body, giving great honor to its apparently inferior parts,
25 so that there is no disharmony in the body, but all the parts have a common care for one another.
26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it. If one part receives an honor, all the parts can share its joy.
27 So you are Christ's body, and individually parts of it.
28 And God has placed people in the church, first as apostles, second as prophets, third as teachers, then wonder-workers; then people with power to cure the sick, helpers, managers, ecstatic speakers.
29 Not all are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Not all are teachers, are they? Not all are wonder-workers, are they?
30 Not all are people with power to cure the sick, are they? Not all are ecstatic speakers, are they? Not all can explain ecstatic speaking, can they?
31 But you must earnestly continue to cultivate your higher spiritual gifts. And yet I will show you a way that is better by far:

16 The man who had received the five thousand dollars at once went out and invested it, and made five thousand more.
17 In the same way the man who had received the two thousand made two thousand more.

26 His master answered him, 'You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reaped where I had not sown and gathered where I had not threshed.
27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, so that when I came back I could have collected my principal with interest.

Romans 6:3-6
3 Or, do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into union with Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
4 So through baptism we have been buried with Him in death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father's glorious power, so we too should live an entirely new life.
5 For if we have grown into fellowship with Him by sharing a death like His, surely we shall share a resurrection life like His,
6 for we know that our former self was crucified with Him, to make our body that is liable to sin inactive, so that we might not a moment longer continue to be slaves to sin.
Romans 8:9-11

12 I mean this, that one of you says, "I belong to Paul's party," another, "And I belong to Apollos' party," another, "And I belong to Cephas' party," another, "And I belong to Christ's party."

30 So you owe it all to Him through union with Christ Jesus, whom God has made our wisdom, our means of right standing, our consecration, and our redemption,
1 Corinthians 2:6-10
6 Yet, when among mature believers we do set forth a wisdom, but a wisdom that does not belong to this world or to the leaders of this world who are passing away;
7 rather, we are setting forth a wisdom that came from God, once a covered secret but now uncovered, which God marked off as His plan for bringing us to glory.
8 Not one of this world's leaders understands it, for if they had, they would never have crucified our glorious Lord.
9 But, as the Scripture says, they are: "Things which eye has never seen and ear has never heard, and never have occurred to human hearts, which God prepared for those who love Him."

1 Corinthians 14:1-18
1 Keep on pursuing love, but still keep cultivating your spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesying.
1 Corinthians 14:1-5
1 Keep on pursuing love, but still keep cultivating your spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesying.
1 Corinthians 14:1-1
1 Corinthians 14:2-5
1 Corinthians 14:3-5
1 Corinthians 14:4-5
4 Whoever speaks in ecstasy builds up himself alone, but whoever prophesies builds up the congregation too.
5 I would like for all of you to speak in ecstasy, but I would rather that you prophesy. The man who speaks with real prophetic insight renders greater service than the man who speaks in ecstasy, unless the latter explains it, so the congregation may receive an uplift.
1 Corinthians 14:5
5 I would like for all of you to speak in ecstasy, but I would rather that you prophesy. The man who speaks with real prophetic insight renders greater service than the man who speaks in ecstasy, unless the latter explains it, so the congregation may receive an uplift.
1 Corinthians 14:5-5
5 I would like for all of you to speak in ecstasy, but I would rather that you prophesy. The man who speaks with real prophetic insight renders greater service than the man who speaks in ecstasy, unless the latter explains it, so the congregation may receive an uplift.
6 But as it now is, brothers, if I do come back to you speaking in ecstasy, what good shall I do you, unless my speech contains a revelation or new knowledge or a prophetic message or some teaching?
7 Even inanimate things, like the flute or the harp, may give out sounds, but if there is no difference in the notes, how can the tune that is played on the flute or the harp be told?
8 Again, indeed, if the bugle does not sound a call distinct and clear, who will prepare for battle?
9 So it is with you; unless in your ecstatic speaking you speak a message that is clearly intelligible, how can the message spoken by you be understood? You might just as well be talking to the air!
10 There are, supposedly, ever so many languages in the world, and not one is without its own meaning.
11 So if I do not know the meaning of the language, I should be a foreigner to the man who speaks it, and he would be a foreigner to me.
12 So, as you are ambitious for spiritual gifts, you must keep trying to excel for the upbuilding of the church.
1 Corinthians 14:12
12 So, as you are ambitious for spiritual gifts, you must keep trying to excel for the upbuilding of the church.
13 Therefore, the man who speaks in ecstasy must pray for power to explain what he says.
14 For if I pray in ecstasy, my spirit is praying, but my mind produces no results for anyone.
15 What is my conclusion then? I will certainly pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind in action too. I will certainly sing with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind in action too. For if you give thanks with your spirit only,
16 how is the man who occupies the place of the illiterate to say "Amen" to your thanksgiving? For he does not know what you are saying.
17 You are, indeed, doing right to give thanks, but your neighbor is not built up.
1 Corinthians 14:17
17 You are, indeed, doing right to give thanks, but your neighbor is not built up.
18 Thank God, I speak in ecstasy more than any of you.
19 But in the public congregation I would rather speak five words with my mind in action, in order to instruct the people too, than ten thousand words in ecstasy.
1 Corinthians 14:22-26
22 So speaking in ecstasy is meant as a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is meant, not for unbelievers but for believers.
23 Hence, if the whole church has met and everybody speaks in ecstasy, and illiterate people or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are crazy?
1 Corinthians 14:23-24
23 Hence, if the whole church has met and everybody speaks in ecstasy, and illiterate people or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are crazy?
24 But if everybody prophesies, and some unbeliever or illiterate man comes in, he is convinced of his sins by all, he is closely questioned by all,
1 Corinthians 14:24-24
24 But if everybody prophesies, and some unbeliever or illiterate man comes in, he is convinced of his sins by all, he is closely questioned by all,
25 the secrets of his heart are laid bare, he falls upon his face and worships God, declaring, "God is really among you."
26 Then what is our conclusion, brothers? When you meet together, everybody has a song, something to teach, a revelation, an ecstatic utterance, or an explanation of one. It must all be for the upbuilding of all.
1 Corinthians 14:26-29
26 Then what is our conclusion, brothers? When you meet together, everybody has a song, something to teach, a revelation, an ecstatic utterance, or an explanation of one. It must all be for the upbuilding of all.
27 If anybody speaks in ecstasy, there must be only two, or three at most, and let one speak at a time, and someone explain what he says.
28 But if there is no one to explain it, let him keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God alone.
29 Let two or three prophets speak, and the rest consider carefully what is said;
1 Corinthians 14:31-32
1 Corinthians 14:37
37 If anyone claims to have the prophetic spirit, or any other spiritual gift, let him recognize that what I now am writing is the Lord's command.
1 Corinthians 14:39
39 So, my brothers, cultivate the gift of prophetic speaking, but stop preventing others from speaking in ecstasy.
1 Corinthians 15:28
28 And when everything has been put in subjection to Him, then the Son Himself will also become subject to Him who has put everything in subjection to Him, so that God may be everything to everybody.
1 Corinthians 15:38
38 but God gives it just the body He sees fit, even each kind of seed its own body.
1 Corinthians 16:22
22 A curse upon anyone who does not love the Lord! Our Lord is coming.
2 Corinthians 1:8
8 For I do not want you to be uninformed about the sorrow that I suffered in Asia, because I was so crushed beyond any power to endure that I was in dire despair of life itself.
2 Corinthians 1:11
11 because you are helping me by your prayers for me, so that thanks to God will be given by many on my behalf for God's gracious gift to me in answer to the prayers of many.
2 Corinthians 3:5
5 Not that I am myself qualified to consider anything as coming from me myself. No, my qualification comes from God, for
2 Corinthians 4:13
13 Now since I have the same spirit of faith as he who said in the Scriptures, "I believed, and so I spoke," I too believe, and so I speak,
2 Corinthians 7:12
12 So, although I did write to you, it was not for the offender's sake, nor for the offended party's sake, but in the sight of God for the sake of having your enthusiasm for me made perfectly clear to you. This is why I am so comforted.
2 Corinthians 8:7
7 Yes, just as you are growing rich in everything else, in faith, expression, knowledge, perfect enthusiasm, and the love inspired in you by us, you must see to it that you grow rich in this gracious contribution too.
2 Corinthians 8:16
16 But thanks be to God, who kindles in the heart of Titus the same enthusiasm for you that I have;
2 Corinthians 10:13
13 But I shall never go too far in my boasting; no, I shall stay within the limits of the sphere which God apportioned me, so as to reach even you.
2 Corinthians 11:4
4 For if anybody comes along and preaches another Jesus than the one I preached, or you receive another spirit different from the one you did receive or a glad message different from the one you did accept, you listen to it all right!
2 Corinthians 11:28-29
2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Finally, brothers, goodbye! Practice the perfecting of your characters, keep listening to my appeals, continue thinking in harmony and living in peace, and the loving, peace-giving God will be with you.
Galatians 3:5
5 Now when He supplies you with the Spirit and performs His wonder-works among you, does He do it because you do what the law commands, or because you believe the message that you heard --
Galatians 3:13
13 Christ ransomed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us -- for the Scripture says, "Cursed be everyone who is hanged on a tree" --
Galatians 3:16
16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and his descendant. It does not say, "and to your descendants," in the plural, but in the singular, "and to your descendant," that is, Christ.
Galatians 3:23
23 But before this faith came, we were kept locked up under the law, in preparation for the faith which was to be unveiled.
Galatians 3:28
28 There is no room for Jew or Greek, no room for slave or freeman, no room for male or female, for you are all one through union with Christ Jesus.
Galatians 4:8
8 But at that former time, as you did not know the true God, you were slaves to gods that do not really exist,
Galatians 6:2
2 Practice bearing one another's burdens, and in this way carry out the law of Christ.
Ephesians 1:5
5 He foreordained us to become His sons by adoption through Christ Jesus, to carry out the happy choice of His will,
Ephesians 1:9
9 He has made known to us the secret of His will, which is in accordance with His purpose which He planned in Christ,
Ephesians 1:11
11 in union with whom we were made God's portion, since we had been foreordained in accordance with the purpose of Him who in everything carries out the plan of His will,
Ephesians 1:17-18
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may grant you the Spirit to give wisdom and revelation which come through a growing knowledge of Him,
18 by having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, so that you may know what the hope is to which He calls you, how glorious rich God's portion in His people is,
19 and how surpassingly great is His power for us who believe, measured by His tremendously mighty power
20 when He raised Christ from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in heaven,
21 far above every other government, authority, power, and dominion, yea, far above every other title that can be conferred, not only in this world but in the world to come.
22 And so He has put all things under His feet and made Him the supreme Head of the church,
23 which is His body, that is being filled by Him who fills everything everywhere.
Ephesians 1:23
23 which is His body, that is being filled by Him who fills everything everywhere.
Ephesians 2:8
8 For it is by His unmerited favor through faith that you have been saved; it is not by anything that you have done, it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:11-12
11 So remember that you were once heathen in a physical sense, called the uncircumcised by those who call themselves the circumcised -- though only in a physical sense, by human hands.
Ephesians 2:11-22
11 So remember that you were once heathen in a physical sense, called the uncircumcised by those who call themselves the circumcised -- though only in a physical sense, by human hands.
12 At that time you were without any connection with Christ; you were aliens to the commonwealth of Israel, strangers to the sacred compacts made by God's promise, with no hope, and no God in the world.
Ephesians 2:12-22
12 At that time you were without any connection with Christ; you were aliens to the commonwealth of Israel, strangers to the sacred compacts made by God's promise, with no hope, and no God in the world.
13 But now through your union with Christ Jesus you who were once far away have through the blood of Christ been brought near.
14 For He Himself is our peace, He is the one who has made us both into one body and has broken down the barrier that kept us apart;
15 through His human nature He has put a stop to the hostility between us, namely, the law with its commands and decrees, in order to create one new humanity out of the two parties and so make peace through union with Himself, and in one body
16 to reconcile them both to God with His cross after He had killed the hostility through it.
17 When He came, He brought the good news of peace for you who were far away and for you who were near;
18 for it is by Him through one Spirit that both of us now have an introduction to the Father.
19 So you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but you are fellow-citizens of God's people and members of His family;
20 for you are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself the cornerstone.
Ephesians 2:20
20 for you are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself the cornerstone.
21 In union with Him the whole building is harmoniously fitted together and continues to grow into a temple, sacred through its union with the Lord,
22 and you yourselves, in union with Him, in fellowship with one another, are being built up into a dwelling for God through the Spirit.
Ephesians 3:5
5 which in the earlier ages, so different from the present, was not made known to mankind as fully as now, but through the Spirit it has been revealed to His Holy apostles and prophets --
6 that the heathen through union with Christ Jesus are fellow-heirs with the Jews, are members with them of the same body, and sharers with them of the promise through the good news,
Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is but one body and one Spirit, just as there is but one hope resulting from the call you have received;
Ephesians 4:4
Ephesians 4:5
Ephesians 4:6
Ephesians 4:7
7 But in accordance with the measure of Christ's gift, His favor has been bestowed upon each one of us.
8 Concerning this the Scripture says: "He led a host of captives, when He went up on high, and granted gifts to men."
9 What does "He went up" mean, except that He had first gone down into the lower regions of the earth?
10 The very One that went down has gone up, too, far above all the heavens, to fill the universe.
11 And He has given some men to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers,
Ephesians 4:11-12
11 And He has given some men to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers,
Ephesians 4:11-13
Ephesians 4:12
12 for the immediate equipment of God's people for the work of service, for the ultimate building up of the body of Christ,
Ephesians 4:12-13
Ephesians 4:15-16
15 But, on the other hand, we shall go on holding to the truth and in love growing up into perfect union with Him, that is, Christ Himself who is the Head.
16 For it is under His direction that the whole body is perfectly adjusted and united by every joint that furnishes its supplies; and by the proper functioning of each particular part there is brought about the growing of the body for its building up in love.
17 So I mean this and now testify to it in the name of the Lord: You must now stop living as the heathen usually do, in the frivolity of their minds,
18 with darkened understanding, estranged from the life of God because of the ignorance that exists among them and because of the stubbornness of their hearts;
Ephesians 4:25
25 So you must lay aside falsehood and each of you practice telling the truth to his neighbor, for we are parts of one another.
Ephesians 5:23
23 for a husband is the head of his wife, just as Christ is the Head of the church, His body, and Saviour of it.
Ephesians 5:26
26 to consecrate her, after cleansing her through His word, as pictured in the water bath,
Ephesians 5:30
30 because we are parts of His body.
Ephesians 6:8
8 for you know that everyone, slave or free, will get his reward from the Lord for anything good he has done.
Philippians 2:3
3 Stop acting from motives of selfish strife or petty ambition, but in humility practice treating one another as your superiors.
Philippians 2:11
11 and everyone should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the praise of God the Father.
Philippians 2:13
13 for it is God Himself who is at work in you to help you desire it as well as do it.
Philippians 3:8
8 Yes, indeed, I certainly do count everything as loss compared with the priceless privilege of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have lost everything, and value it all as mere refuse, in order to gain Christ
Colossians 1:18
18 Yes, He is the Head of the church as His body. For He is the beginning, the first-born among the dead, so that He alone should stand first in everything.
Colossians 1:24
24 I am now glad to be suffering for you, and in my own person I am filling in what is lacking in Christ's sufferings for His body, that is, the church.

27 to whom God has chosen to make known how glorious are the riches of this open secret among the heathen, namely, Christ in you the hope of your glorification.
Colossians 1:29
29 For this I am toiling and struggling by His active energy which is mightily working in me.
Colossians 2:11-12
Colossians 2:19
19 Such a person is not continuing in connection with the Head, from which the whole body, when supplied and united through its joints and sinews, grows with a growth that God produces.
Colossians 3:11
11 In this new relation there is no Greek and Jew, no circumcised and uncircumcised, no barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is everything and in us all.
Colossians 3:15
15 Let the peace that Christ can give keep on acting as umpire in your hearts, for you were called to this state as members of one body. And practice being thankful.
1 Thessalonians 1:9
9 For the people themselves tell us what a welcome you gave us, and how you turned from idols to the true God, to serve the God who lives on and is real,
1 Thessalonians 4:13
13 Also we do not want you to have any misunderstanding, brothers, about those who are falling asleep, so as to keep you from grieving over them as others do who have no hope.
1 Thessalonians 5:20
20 Stop treating the messages of prophecy with contempt,
1 Timothy 5:17
17 Elders who do their duties well should be considered as deserving twice the salary they get especially those who keep on toiling in preaching and teaching.
Titus 2:9-10
Titus 3:3
3 For once we too were without understanding, disobedient, misled, habitual slaves to all sorts of passions and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy.
4 But when the goodness and lovingkindness of God our Saviour were brought to light,
5 He saved us, not for upright deeds that we had done, but in accordance with His mercy, through the bath of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
6 which He abundantly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Saviour,
Hebrews 2:4
4 while God continued to confirm their testimony with signs, marvels, and various sorts of wonder-works, and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed in accordance with His will.
Hebrews 11:4
4 By faith Abel offered a sacrifice more acceptable to God than Cain did, for by it he was approved as an upright man, since God approved him for the offering he made; and by it he still continues to speak, though dead.
Hebrews 11:33
33 who by their faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, received new promises, shut the mouths of lions,
Hebrews 13:3
3 Continue to remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and those who are being ill-treated, since you, too, are liable to similar physical punishment.
Hebrews 13:17
17 Continue to obey and to be submissive to your leaders, for they are ever watching in defense of your souls, as men who will have to give account of their trust. Treat them in this way, so that they may work with joy and not with grief.
Hebrews 13:21
21 perfectly fit you to do His will, He Himself, through Jesus Christ, accomplishing through you what is pleasing to Him. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:24
24 Remember us to all your leaders and to all the Christians. The Christians from Italy wish to be remembered to you.
James 1:18
18 In accordance with His will He made us His children by the message of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.
James 5:14-15
14 Is anyone sick among you? He should call in the elders of the church, and they should pray over him, and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord,
15 and the prayer that is offered in faith will save the sick man; the Lord will raise him to health, and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
1 Peter 1:18
18 because you know that you have not been ransomed with things that perish as silver or gold, from the futile way of living taught by your fathers,
1 Peter 3:8
8 Finally, you must all live in harmony, be sympathetic, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, humble,
1 Peter 3:21
21 Baptism, which corresponds to this figure, now saves you, too -- I do not mean the mere removal of physical stains, but the craving for a clear conscience toward God -- through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1 Peter 4:3
3 For the time that is past is enough for you to have accomplished what the heathen like to do, leading lives that are steeped in sensuality, lustful desires, drunkenness, carousing, revelry, dissipation, and idolatry that leads to lawlessness,
1 Peter 4:10
10 As all of you have received your spiritual talents, you must keep on using them in serving one another, as good trustees of God's many-sided favor.
1 Peter 4:10-11
10 As all of you have received your spiritual talents, you must keep on using them in serving one another, as good trustees of God's many-sided favor.
11 If anyone is preaching, let him do it as one who utters the oracles of God; if anyone is rendering any service to others, let him do it with all the strength that God supplies, so that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:1-4
1 So, as a joint-elder with them, a witness of the suffering borne by Christ, and a sharer of the glory that is to be uncovered, I beg the elders among you,
2 be shepherds of the flock of God that is among you, not as though you had to but of your own free will, not from the motive of personal profit but freely,
3 and not as domineering over those in your charge but proving yourselves models for the flock to imitate;
4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the glorious crown that never fades.
2 Peter 1:20-21
2 Peter 3:8
8 But you must avoid forgetting this one fact, dearly beloved, that with the Lord a single day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a single day.
1 John 4:1
1 Dearly beloved, stop believing every so-called spiritual utterance, but keep testing them to see whether they come from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 In this way you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spiritual utterance which owns that Jesus Christ has come in human form comes from God,
3 and no spiritual utterance which disowns Jesus can come from God; it is the utterance of Antichrist. You have heard that it is coming, and right now it is already in the world.
Revelation 1:10
10 On the Lord's day I was in the Spirit's power, and I heard a voice like a trumpet behind me say:

2 "I know what you have done; your hard work and patient endurance; that you cannot tolerate wicked persons; that you have tested those who claimed to be apostles although they were not, and have found them to be imposters,

11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to have ascribed to you the glory, honor, and power; for you created everything, And since you willed it so, they came into existence and were created."
