¹ Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the passover.

² Ye know that after two days is the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. ³ Then assembled together the chief priests, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiphas. ⁴ And consulted that they might take Jesus by deceit, and kill [him]. ⁵ But they said, Not on the feast, lest there be an uprore among the people.

¹ After two days was the passover: and the chief priests, and the scribes sought how they might take him, and put him to death. ² But they said, Lest there be on the feast an uprore of the people.

¹² And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, the disciples say unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare for thee, that thou mayest eat the passover?

⁵⁵ Now the Jews Passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country therefore up to Jerusalem, before the Passover, to purifie themselves. ⁵⁶ They sought therefore for Jesus also, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast? ⁵⁷ Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given commandment, that if any man knew where he were, he should declare [it], that they might seize him.

⁷ Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover was sacrificed for us. ⁸ Therefore let us keep the feast, not with the old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.
