¹ And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

⁶ And the chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

¹¹ But ye say, If a man shall say to his father, or mother, [It is] Corban, that is, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightst be profited by me; ¹² Ye suffer him not to do ought for his father or mother: ¹³ Making the word of God of none effect through your foolish tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

⁴¹ And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the multitude cast in much. ⁴² But there came one widow, and she threw in two mites, which are a farthing. ⁴³ And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast more in than all they who have cast into the treasury. ⁴⁴ For all these did cast in of their abundance: but she of her want did cast in all that she had, all her living.

²⁰ These words he spake in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no one seized on him, for his hour was not yet come.
