¹ And Saul yet breathing out threatnings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, ² And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he should find any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. ³ And as he journeyed he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shone round about him a light from heaven. ⁴ And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ Who said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said,] I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [It] [is] hard for thee to kick against the goads. ⁶ And he trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him. Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee there what thou must do. ⁷ And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man: ⁸ And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing, but they led him by the hand, and brought [him] to Damascus. ⁹ And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. ¹⁰ And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I[am here] Lord. ¹¹ And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street, which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas, for [one] whose name is Saul, of Tarsus: for behold he prayeth. ¹² And he hath seen a man named Ananias, coming in, and putting [his] hands on him, that he might receive his sight. ¹³ Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: ¹⁴ And here he hath Authority from the chief priests, to bind all that call on thy name. ¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel. ¹⁶ For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. ¹⁷ And Ananias went away and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him, said, Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me, Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. ¹⁸ And there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. ¹⁹ And when he had received meat he was strengthened. Then was he certain days with the disciples who were at Damascus. ²⁰ And straightway he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. ²¹ But all that heard [him] were amazed, and said, Is not this he that made havock of them who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? ²² But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ. ²³ And after many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: ²⁴ But their laying await was known of Saul: and they watched the gates also day and night to kill him. ²⁵ Then the disciples took him by night, and let [him] down by the wall in a basket. ²⁶ And when he was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. ²⁷ But Barnabas took him, and brought [him] to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. ²⁸ And he was with them coming in, and going out in Jerusalem. ²⁹ And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Helenists: but they went about to slay him. ³⁰ When the brethren knew it, they brought him down to Cesarea, and sent [him] forth to Tarsus. ³¹ Then had the church rest throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, and was edified, and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, was multiplied. ³² And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all [quarters,] he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda. ³³ And there he found a certain man named Eneas, who had lain upon his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. ³⁴ And Peter said unto him, Eneas, The Lord Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. ³⁵ And all that dwelt at Lydda, and Saron, saw him, and turned to the Lord. ³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, who by interpretation is called Dorcas [a Doe] this woman was full of good works, and alms deeds which she did. ³⁸ And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring [him],Do not thou delay to come to us. ³⁹ Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper room, and all the widows stood round about him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. ⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down and prayed, and turning to the body, said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and lift her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. ⁴² And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord: ⁴³ And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner. ⁵⁷ And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid in an upper room.

⁵⁸ And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a certain young mans feet, called Saul.

³ And Saul made havock of the church, entring into every house, and haling men and women, committed [them] to prison.

³ I am a man who am a Jew, born in Tarsus, of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, being zealous towards God, as ye all are this day. ⁴ And I persecuted this way unto death, binding and delivering unto prison both men and women. ⁵ As also the high priest will bear me witness, and all the Presbytery: from whom I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them who were there bound unto Jerusalem, that they might be punished.

⁹ I verily thought with my self, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. ¹⁰ Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my voice against [them]. ¹¹ And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled [them] to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted [them] even unto strange cities.

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

¹³ For ye have heard of my conversation in time past, in the Jews religion, that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

⁶ Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless,

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and injurious. But I obtained mercy, for this cause, that I did [it] ignorantly, in unbelief:

⁹ Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia, disputing with Stephen.

¹⁹ The same dealt also deceitfully with our kindred, and evil entreated [our] fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

¹⁴ And here he hath Authority from the chief priests, to bind all that call on thy name.

¹⁴ But when they had departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and sat down. ¹⁵ And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men [and] brethren, if ye have any word of wisdom, for exhortation to the people, say on.

²⁵ Who was instructed in his own country in the word of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John.

⁹ But then divers of them were hardned, and believed not, and spake evil of the way before the multitude of the Gentiles. Then Paul departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyranus, from the fifth hour to the tenth.

²³ And the same time there was no small stir about that way.

¹⁴ But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call an heresy, so worship I my Father, and my God; believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets:

²² And Felix having more perfect knowledge of the way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will hear you.

¹² Whereupon, as I went to Damascus, with authority and commission from the chief priests;

¹⁷ And it came to pass, that after three days, he called the chief of the Jews together. And when they were come together, he said unto them, Men, brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. ¹⁸ Who when they had examined me, would have let [me] go, because there was no cause of death in me. ¹⁹ But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Cesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of. ²⁰ For this cause therefore have I called foryou, to see and to speak with [you]: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain. ²¹ But they said unto him. We neither received letters out of Judea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came, shewed or spake any harm of thee. ²² But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

¹⁷ And Ananias went away and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him, said, Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me, Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

⁶ As I was come nigh unto Damascus, about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

¹² Whereupon, as I went to Damascus, with authority and commission from the chief priests; ¹³ At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me, and them who journeyed with me.

⁸ And last of all, he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

¹⁶ Who only hath immortality, and dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and eternal power. Amen.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof.

⁵ And there shall be no night any more, and they shall not have need of the light of a candle, and the light of the sun; for the Lord God will give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer, and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have not done it to one of the least of these, ye have not done it to me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.

⁴¹ And Jesus answered, and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art sollicitous:

⁶ When therefore he had said unto them, I am [he], they went away backward, and fell to the ground.

¹⁶ Jesus saith unto her, Mary. But She turned her self, and saith unto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Lord, Master.

¹⁵ When therefore they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon [son] of John, lovest thou me more that these? Jesus (Read: Peter) saith unto him, Yes, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

¹⁰ And she fell down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying [her] forth, when she was made ready, buried [her] by her husband.

⁷ And I fell unto the ground and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁸ And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? But he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth whom thou persecutest.

¹⁴ And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? [It] [is] hard for thee to kick against the goads. ¹⁵ And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

²² Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but towards thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off,

⁷ For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive [it], why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received [it]

¹² For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members out of one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.

³⁰ For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

³⁹ But if it be of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; neither you, nor kings, nor tyrants. Abstain therefore from these men; lest haply ye be found to be fighters against God.

⁹ I verily thought with my self, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

²² Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

³⁰ But many first shall be last; and the last first.

¹⁰ And the multitudes asked him, saying, What therefore shall we do, that we may be saved?

³⁷ Then all they that were come together and had heard, were pricked in their heart, and some of them said to Peter, and to the apostles, Men, brethren, shew us what we shall do?

¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel. ¹⁶ For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

⁶ He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

²² They said unto him, One Cornelius a Centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel, to send for thee to his house, and to hear words of thee.

³² Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon whose sirname is Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea; who when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

¹³ But he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, who stood and said unto him, Send to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose sirname is Peter: ¹⁴ Who shall speak unto thee words, whereby thou shalt be saved, and all thy house.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and leaped in, and trembling, fell down at the feet of Paul and Silas; ³⁰ And brought them out, and securing the rest, he said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

¹⁰ And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And he said unto me. Arise, and go to Damascus, and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed thee to do.

²⁵ And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. ²⁶ He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul; wherefore he sent for him the oftner, and communed with him.

¹⁶ But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

²⁰ Moreover, the law entered, that the offence might abound: But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

⁹ For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

¹⁵ For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. ¹⁶ So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. ¹⁷ For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. ¹⁸ Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will, and whom he will, he hardneth. ¹⁹ Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he therefore find fault? For who hath resisted his will? ²⁰ O man, who art thou that repliest against God? shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou formed me thus? ²¹ Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? ²² [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: ²³ And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory? ²⁴ Even us whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.

³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

²⁰ But Esaias saith, I was found in them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb, and called [me] by his grace, ¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

¹² Wherefore my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith, and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me Jesus Christ might shew forth all his long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

⁶ But he giveth more grace: wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

⁴⁰ Then shall two be in the field, the one is taken, and the other left. ⁴¹ Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill, the one is taken, and the other left. Two shall be upon one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other left:

²⁹ The multitude therefore that stood heard it and said it was thunder: others said, that An Angel spake to him.

⁹ And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake unto me.

¹¹ And now behold, the hand of the Lord [shall be] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

¹¹ And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came to Damascus.

¹¹ And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street, which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas, for [one] whose name is Saul, of Tarsus: for behold he prayeth. ¹² And he hath seen a man named Ananias, coming in, and putting [his] hands on him, that he might receive his sight.

¹⁷ It shall come to pass in the last days, saith the Lord, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and their sons and their daughters shall prophesy, and the young men shall see visions, and the old men shall dream dreams:

³ He saw in a vision evidently, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

¹⁷ Now when Peter was come to himself, he doubted what this vision which he had seen should mean; And behold the men who were sent from Cornelius had asked for Simon's house, and stood before the gate. ¹⁸ And called, and asked whether Simon who was sirnamed Peter, logged there. ¹⁹ While Peter thought on the vision, the spirit said unto him, Behold, men seek thee. ²⁰ But arise and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

¹² And one Ananias, a man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews who dwelt [there],

⁷ Ask and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you: ⁸ For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, shall be opened.

⁹ And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you. ¹⁰ For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, is opened.

⁷ And, shall not God avenge his own elect, while they cry day and night unto him, and he compassionates them? ⁸ I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? ⁹ And he spake unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised other men: ¹⁰ Two men went up to the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and one a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I posses. ¹³ And the publican standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. ¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down justified [rather] than that Pharisee: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

⁴² And turning to the Lord, he said to him, Remember me in the day of thy coming. ⁴³ But Jesus answered and said unto him, that rebuked [the other,] Be of good courage, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who he is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou woulst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.

²¹ And it shall come to pass, whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

²⁶ And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise and go toward the south, unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

³⁰ When the brethren knew it, they brought him down to Cesarea, and sent [him] forth to Tarsus.

²⁵ But hearing that Saul was at Tarsus, he departed, seeking for him.

³⁹ But Paul said, I am a man who am a Jew, but born at Tarsus; and I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

³ I am a man who am a Jew, born in Tarsus, of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, being zealous towards God, as ye all are this day.

²³ Beseeching him, and saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death, Come and touch her with thy hands that she may be healed, and she shall live.

¹⁰ And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I[am here] Lord.

¹⁷ And Ananias went away and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him, said, Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me, Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. ¹⁸ And there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

³² And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all [quarters,] he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.

⁴ And I persecuted this way unto death, binding and delivering unto prison both men and women.

¹⁹ And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned, and beat in the synagogues them that believed on thee. ²⁰ And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I was standing by, and consenting, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

⁷ To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, the called saints: Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁵ But now I go unto Jerusalem, to minister unto the saints. ²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem,

³¹ And I may be de- livered from them that do not believe in Judea; and that my present for Jerusalem, may be accepted of the saints:

² That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of my self, and of many also.

¹⁵ Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and also the saints who are with them.

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and injurious. But I obtained mercy, for this cause, that I did [it] ignorantly, in unbelief: ¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith, and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen, invocating and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

² And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he should find any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. ³ And as he journeyed he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shone round about him a light from heaven.

²¹ But all that heard [him] were amazed, and said, Is not this he that made havock of them who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

¹⁶ And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his name.

¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all, is rich unto all that call upon him. ¹³ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved. ¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

² Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.

²² Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

¹⁸ And ye shall stand before governors for my sake, for a testimony to them, and the Gentiles.

¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you, that you should go and bring forth much fruit, and your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

² As they ministred to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them.

¹⁹ And when he had saluted [them], he declared particularly how God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

²¹ And he said unto me, Depart: for I send thee far unto the Gentiles.

²² Then Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the man my self. To morrow, said he, thou shall hear him.

¹⁷ Delivering thee from the people, and the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, ¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn [them] from darkness to light, and[from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith that is in me. ¹⁹ Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: ²⁰ But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent, and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

³² Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Cesar.

²⁴ saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cesar: and lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

¹⁷ And it came to pass, that after three days, he called the chief of the Jews together. And when they were come together, he said unto them, Men, brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name:

¹³ Now I suppose that you are not ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, but was hindered hitherto, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. ¹⁴ I am debter both to the Greeks, and to the barbarians, both to the wise, and to the unwise. ¹⁵ So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the Gospel among you that are at Rome also.

¹³ For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am an apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

¹⁵ Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you, in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, ¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministring the Gospel of God; that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. ¹⁷ I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to say any of those things, which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through his mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem unto Illyricum and round about, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. ²⁰ Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel where Christ was not named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: ²¹ But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard, shall understand.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God, I am what I am: and his grace upon me has not been poor, but I laboured more abundantly than all: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

¹ PAUL an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead,

⁷ But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as that of the circumcision was unto Peter; ⁸ For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me towards the Gentiles. ⁹ And when Peter, James, and John, who seemed to be pillars, prceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we [should go] unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

⁷ Whereof I have been made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me, by the effectual working of his power. ⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

²⁵ Whereof I am made a minister according to the dispensation of God, which is given to me for you, fully to preach the word of God; ²⁶ The mystery which hath been hid from ages, and from generations, but now made manifest to his saints: ²⁷ To whom God would make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: ²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching them in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ. ²⁹ Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

⁷ Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, I speak the truth, I lie not, a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

¹¹ Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

⁴ No man that warreth, entangleth himself with the affairs of life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

²⁰ But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold, and of silver, but also of wood, and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. ²¹ If a man therefore purge himself from those, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, meet for the masters use, prepared unto every good work.

¹⁶ At my first Apology no man stod with me, but all men forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge. ¹⁷ Notwithstanding, the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him, [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

¹¹ Blessed are ye when men shall persecute and revile you, and shall say all manner of evil against you for my sake.

²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against [their] parents, and cause them to be put to death. ²² And ye shall be hated of all for my names sake: but he that endureth to the end, shall be saved. ²³ But when they shall persecute you in this city, flee ye unto another: and if they persecute you in the other, flee ye unto another: Verily I say unto you, ye shall not finish the cities of Israel till the Son of man come. ²⁴ The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above the lord. ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as the master, and the servant as his lord: if they shall call the master of the House Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?

⁹ Then shall they deliver you to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake.

²⁰ Remember the words that I said unto you, my servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have observed my saying, they will observe yours also.

¹ These things have I spoken that ye should not be offended. ² They shall put you out of the synagogues: But the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth God service. ³ And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. ⁴ These things have I told you, that when the hour shall come, ye may remember them that I told you. And these things I said not unto you from the beginning, because I was with you.

²² And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befal me there; ²³ Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth to me in every city, saying, that bonds and afflictions abide me at Jerusalem.

²³ Take heed unto your selves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of the Lord, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

⁴ And finding disciples, we tarried with them seven days: who said to Paul by the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

¹¹ And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle and bound his own feet and hands, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews in Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver [him] into the hands of the Gentiles.

⁹ For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death. For we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. ¹⁰ We [are] fools for Christ's sake, but ye [are] wise in Christ: we weak, but ye strong: ye honourable, but we despised. ¹¹ Even unto this present hour, we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place; ¹² And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless: being persecuted, we suffer it: ¹³ Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the off-scouring of all things unto this day.

⁴ But in all things approving our selves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? I speak as a fool, I [am] more: in labours more abundant, in prisons more frequent, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft. ²⁴ Of the Jews five times received I forty [stripes] save one. ²⁵ Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck; a night and a day I have been in the deep: ²⁶ In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

³ That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for your selves know that we are appointed thereunto,

¹² For the which cause I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

⁹ Wherein I suffer trouble as an evil-doer, unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elects sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹¹ Persecutions, afflictions which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconiun, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all God delivered me.

¹⁴ If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and power, and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

⁹ I John, who am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience in Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, [for] the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus

¹³ Then were brought unto him little children, that he should put [his] hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

⁵ And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed [them].

¹⁶ And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

⁷⁶ But thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest;for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord, to prepare his ways;

¹¹ For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, Who is Christ the Lord.

³⁰ But for thy son who hath devoured all he had with harlots, when he came thou hast killed the fatted calf.

³² It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again;was lost, and is found.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness to every one that would believe.

⁶ These were set also before the apostles: who when they had prayed, laid [their] hands on them.

¹⁷ Then laid they hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

⁴ And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ Who said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said,] I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [It] [is] hard for thee to kick against the goads.

⁸ And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing, but they led him by the hand, and brought [him] to Damascus. ⁹ And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. ¹⁰ And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I[am here] Lord. ¹¹ And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street, which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas, for [one] whose name is Saul, of Tarsus: for behold he prayeth. ¹² And he hath seen a man named Ananias, coming in, and putting [his] hands on him, that he might receive his sight. ¹³ Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: ¹⁴ And here he hath Authority from the chief priests, to bind all that call on thy name. ¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.

³⁶ For the word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ; he is Lord of all.

³ And when they had all fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent [them] away.

⁵² And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

⁶ And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost presently fell on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

²⁰ And when they heard [it,] they glorified the Lord, saying, Thou seest, brother, how many ten-thousands in Judea there are who have believed, and they are all zealots of the law.

¹² And one Ananias, a man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews who dwelt [there], ¹³ Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him. ¹⁴ And he said to me, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that just one, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

¹⁵ And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

⁷ Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received you to the glory of God.

⁴⁷ The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] from heaven.

¹⁴ Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by Prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

²² Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other mens sins: keep thy self pure.

⁶ Wherefore I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

¹⁶ Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

² Of the doctrine of baptisms; and of laying on of hands; of resurrection of the dead; and of eternal judgment.

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, unto unfeigned love of the brethren; love one another with the heart fervently: ²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth.

³⁸ But Peter saith unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

⁴¹ Then they that believed his word, were baptized; and the same day there were added about three thousand souls.

¹² But when the proconsul saw what was done, he wondred, and believed God, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. ¹³ Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga of Pamphylia: and John departed from them, and returned to Jerusalem.

³⁷ But he whom God, raised again, saw no corruption. ³⁸ Be it known unto you therefore, Men, Brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.

¹⁴ But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away, in the reading of the old testament; which is done away in Christ.

⁶ For God commanded the light to shine out of darkness, [and] hath shined in our hearts, to illuminate the knowledge of his glory, in the person of Jesus Christ.

²⁶ And when he had found [him],he besought [him] to come to Antioch: who when they were come, assembled in the Church a whole Year, and taught a great multitude. And there it was that the disciples in Antioch were first called Christians.

²⁰ But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent, and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

³³ And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, ye have waited this fourteenth day, and continued fasting, having taken nothing. ³⁴ Wherefore I pray you take meat; for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair perish from the head of any of you. ³⁵ And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all, and when he had broken [it,] he began to eat. ³⁶ Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took meat.

¹⁷ Neither went I up to Jerusalem, to them who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

³ And the tempter came to him, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. The high priest therefore answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us, whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: moreover I say unto you, that hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. ⁶⁵ Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. ⁶⁶ What think ye? They all answered and said, He is guilty of death.

⁴³ If he trusted in God let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to law he aught to die, because he hath made himself the Son of God.

²⁸ Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord, and my God.

³¹ But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that believing ye might have eternal life in his name.

³⁶ And as they went on the way, they came unto a certain water; and the Eunuch said, See water, what doth forbid me to be baptized?

²² But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

²⁷ But Barnabas took him, and brought [him] to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. ²⁸ And he was with them coming in, and going out in Jerusalem.

⁵ But when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of the Lord in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John ministring to them.

¹⁴ But when they had departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and sat down.

⁴ And fore ordained the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

²³ But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past, now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. ²⁴ And they glorified God in me.

²⁰ I am crucified with Christ: Nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

¹⁴ And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father sent the Son, the Saviour of the World. ¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

¹⁸ And unto the angel who is at Thyatira, write. These things saith the Son of God, who hath eyes like unto a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass.

⁵⁴ And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagoge, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man all this wisdom, and these mighty works? ⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenters son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and John, and Simon, and Judas?

¹⁵ And they come to Jesus, and see him sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind, and they were afraid. ¹⁶ But they that saw [it], told them how it happened to the dæmoniack himself, and also concerning the swine. ¹⁷ And they prayed him to depart out of their coasts. ¹⁸ And when he came into the ship, the dæmoniack began to pray him that he might be with him. ¹⁹ And Jesus suffered him not, and saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how many things God hath done for thee, and because he hath had compassion on thee. ²⁰ And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis, how many things Jesus had done for him; and all men did marvel.

⁸ The neighbours therefore, and they who before had seen him, that he was a beggar, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? ⁹ Some said, This is he: others, He is like him: He said himself, I am [he].

⁶ And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, and they heard every one speak in their [own] languages.

¹² And they were all amazed, and were in doubt one among another what had happened, and saying, What meaneth this?

¹⁰ And they knew him, that it was he who sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

¹³ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned men, they marvelled, but they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

¹ And Saul yet breathing out threatnings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, ² And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he should find any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

¹³ Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: ¹⁴ And here he hath Authority from the chief priests, to bind all that call on thy name.

¹³ For ye have heard of my conversation in time past, in the Jews religion, that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: ¹⁴ And profited in the Jews religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. ¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb, and called [me] by his grace, ¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ¹⁷ Neither went I up to Jerusalem, to them who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. ¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. ¹⁹ But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. ²⁰ Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. ²¹ Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia: ²² And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judea, which were in Christ:

¹⁰ When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that have believed, because our testimony among you was believed in that day.

¹ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called and we are the Sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not,

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth, and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist.

⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These [were] my words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms concerning me. ⁴⁵ Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures.

⁹ Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia, disputing with Stephen. ¹⁰ Who could not resist the wisdom that was in him, and the Holy Spirit by which he spake, because they were reproved by him with all boldness; not being therefore able to oppose the truth,

³ Opening and alledging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead: and that this Jesus whom I preach unto you is Christ.

⁵ And when Silas and Timothy were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed by the word, and testified to the Jews, that Jesus was the Lord.

²⁷ But certain Corinthians who lived at Ephesus, and heard him, desired him to pass over with them to their native country; but when he had given his consent, the Ephesians wrote to the disciples at Corinth, that they should receive the man: who when he sojourned in Achaia helped them much in the churches through grace. ²⁸ For he mightily convinced the Jews, [and that] publickly discoursing, and shewing by the scriptures, that Jesus is the Christ.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him unto his lodging; to whom he expounded testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, out of the law of Moses, and [out of] the prophets, from morning till evening.

²⁷ But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world, to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthneth me.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ Beware of men, for they will deliver you up to the sanhedrim, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. ¹⁸ And ye shall stand before governors for my sake, for a testimony to them, and the Gentiles. ¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: ²⁰ For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of the Father who speaketh in you. ²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against [their] parents, and cause them to be put to death. ²² And ye shall be hated of all for my names sake: but he that endureth to the end, shall be saved. ²³ But when they shall persecute you in this city, flee ye unto another: and if they persecute you in the other, flee ye unto another: Verily I say unto you, ye shall not finish the cities of Israel till the Son of man come.

¹⁶ For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

⁵⁰ But the Jews stirred up the devout honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised affliction and persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled then out of their coasts.

² But the heads of the Jews and the rulers of the synagogue brought on a persecution against the righteous, and made the minds of the Gentiles evil affected against the brethren: but the Lord gave them peace quickly.

¹⁹ But while they stayed and taught, there came upon them certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who stirred up the people, and having stoned Paul, drew [him] out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

²¹ And he said unto me, Depart: for I send thee far unto the Gentiles. ²² And they hearkened as far as this word, and lift up their voice, and said, Take away such an one from the earth: for it is not fit he should live. ²³ And as they cried out, and cast off [their] cloaths, and threw dust to heaven,

²⁶ In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

¹⁷ Neither went I up to Jerusalem, to them who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. ¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us; and please not God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles, that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the uttermost.

²⁹ And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Helenists: but they went about to slay him. ³⁰ When the brethren knew it, they brought him down to Cesarea, and sent [him] forth to Tarsus.

⁵ And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and of the Jews, with their rulers, to use [them] despitefully, and to stone them, ⁶ They were ware of [it], and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the whole region that lieth round about:

¹⁰ And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night to Berea: who coming, went away unto the synagogue of the Jews. ¹¹ These were more generous than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. ¹² Therefore some of them believed: but somedid not believe: also of the Helenist women, and of those that honourable, and many men and women believed. ¹³ But when the Jews of Thessalonica knew that the word of God was preached, and believed, at Berea, they came thither also, and did not leave off stirring up and disturbing the multitude there. ¹⁴ And then immediately the brethren sent out Paul, to go away to the sea: but both Silas and Timothy abode there. ¹⁵ And they that conducted Paul, brought [him] to Athens: But he passed by Thessaly: for he was forbidden to preach the word to them; and receiving a commandment from Paul unto Silas and Timothy to come to him with speed, they departed.

³ And abode three months: and when the Jews laid wait for him, he was desirous to sail into Syria, but the Spirit said to him that he should return through Macedonia.

¹⁹ Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with tears, and temptations which befel me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

¹² And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under an anathema, saying, that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. ¹³ And they were more than forty who had made this confederacy. ¹⁴ And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound our selves under a great anathema, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul. ¹⁵ Now therefore ye with the council, signify to the chief captain, that he bring him down unto you, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him. ¹⁶ And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul. ¹⁷ Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him. ¹⁸ So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner prayed me tobring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee. ¹⁹ Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went aside privately, and asked [him,] What is that thou hast to tell me? ²⁰ And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee, that thou wouldest bring down Paul tomorrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. ²¹ But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, who have bound themselves with an anathema, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

³⁰ And when it was told me, how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent striaghtway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also, to say before thee what [they had] against him. Farewel.

³ And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.

¹¹ For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but ifthere be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me onto them. I appeal unto Cesar.

³² In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king, kept the city of the Damascenes with a garison, to apprehend me: ³³ And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

¹⁷ Beware of men, for they will deliver you up to the sanhedrim, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. ¹⁸ And ye shall stand before governors for my sake, for a testimony to them, and the Gentiles. ¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak:

¹⁰ And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

²³ But the Apostles being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

¹⁹ And when he had received meat he was strengthened. Then was he certain days with the disciples who were at Damascus.

¹⁷ And it came to pass, that when I wascome again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; ¹⁸ And saw him saying unto me, Make haste and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

¹⁷ Neither went I up to Jerusalem, to them who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. ¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. ¹⁹ But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

⁴ And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty, which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

²⁹ And now, Lord, behold their threatnings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

³⁶ And Joseph, who by the apostles was sirnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation) of the Country of Cyprus, a Levite.

³ And as he journeyed he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shone round about him a light from heaven. ⁴ And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ Who said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said,] I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [It] [is] hard for thee to kick against the goads. ⁶ And he trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him. Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee there what thou must do.

²⁰ And straightway he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. ²¹ But all that heard [him] were amazed, and said, Is not this he that made havock of them who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? ²² But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

²² But the report of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

²⁵ And Barnabas and Saul departed from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled the ministry, [and] tookwith them John whose sirname was Mark.

² But when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, Paul said that they should abide so as they had believed, and said it with great assurance. But those that came from Jerusalem charged them, Paul and Barnabas and certain others, to go up to the Apostles and Elders to Jerusalem that a determination might be made by them concerning this question.

²⁵ It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send out chosen men unto you, with your beloved Barnabas and Paul; ²⁶ Men that have hazarded their lives to every temptation, for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

³⁵ Now Paul and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. ³⁶ And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let as return and visit the brethren in every city among whom we have preached the word of the Lord, [and see] how they do. ³⁷ But Barnabas had a mind to take with them John, whose sirname was Mark. ³⁸ But Paul was not willing, saying, he would not take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work for which they were sent. ³⁹ But the contention was so sharp, that they departed asunder one from the other: Then Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus.

⁶ Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

⁹ And when Peter, James, and John, who seemed to be pillars, prceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we [should go] unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

¹³ And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

¹⁹ And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel: ²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

⁹ I am the door: by me if any man shall enter in, he shall be saved and shall go in, and to out and find pasture.

²¹ Wherefore of these men who have companied with us, all the time that the Lord Jesus Christ went in and out among us.

¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

¹ And in these days when the disciples were multiplied, there was a murmuring of the Helenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration, in the ministration of the Hebrews.

²⁰ And straightway he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. ²¹ But all that heard [him] were amazed, and said, Is not this he that made havock of them who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? ²² But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ. ²³ And after many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

²⁷ But Barnabas took him, and brought [him] to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

²⁰ And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Hellenists preaching the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and with those in the market every day, with such as met with him.

¹⁹ But when he was come to Ephesus, and left them there, on the next sabbath he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

⁸ But Paul entered into the synagogue with great power, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading what concerned the kingdom of God.

³ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you, that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

⁹ Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil, he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

²³ But when they shall persecute you in this city, flee ye unto another: and if they persecute you in the other, flee ye unto another: Verily I say unto you, ye shall not finish the cities of Israel till the Son of man come.

¹³ When Jesus came into the parts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked the disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I am; the Son of man?

⁴⁰ But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Cesarea.

¹¹ And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street, which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas, for [one] whose name is Saul, of Tarsus: for behold he prayeth.

²⁴ But their laying await was known of Saul: and they watched the gates also day and night to kill him. ²⁵ Then the disciples took him by night, and let [him] down by the wall in a basket.

²¹ Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia:

¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; ¹⁷ The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, for he abideth with you, and is in you. ¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans: I come to you.

⁷ And the word of the Lord increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

¹ And at that time there was a great persecution and affliction upon the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles, who tarried at Jerusalem.

²⁴ But the word of God grew and multiplied.

⁵ And so were the churches established, and increased in number daily.

⁵ And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

¹⁹ Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and observe the things wherewith one may edify another

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace; that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.

⁹ For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, God's building. ¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I laid the foundation; another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereon. ¹¹ For other foundation can no one lay, than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. ¹² Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones; wood, hay, stubble; ¹³ He that doeth this work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. ¹⁴ If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. ¹⁵ If any man's work shall be burnt, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so, as through a fire.

⁴ He that speaketh with tongues, edifieth himself: but he that prophesieth, edifieth the church. ⁵ I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather to prophesy: for greater [is] he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

¹² Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

²⁶ How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a doctrine, hath a psalm, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done to edifying.

¹ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse our selves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

⁸ For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which God hath given for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

¹⁹ Again, think you that we excuse our selves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but all things, dearly beloved, [are] for your edifying.

¹⁰ Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present, I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance, chastity: against such there is no law.

¹³ In whom ye also did so, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ Who is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

¹⁶ From whom the whole body fitly joined together, and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of it self in love.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to edification of faith: that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

²¹ Submitting your selves one to another in the fear of Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ Praying always, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching unto him, always in supplication for all the saints; ¹⁹ And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel:

¹ If [there be] therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies;

¹⁰ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the Knowledge of God;

¹¹ Wherefore comfort your selves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God the Father, who hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace, ¹⁷ Comfort your hearts, and stablish [them] in every good work and word.

⁴ Neither to give heed to fables, and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying, which is in faith.

⁹ Therefore this is another rest yet to come, for the people of God.

²⁰ But ye, beloved, building up yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

⁵² And the graves were opened, and many bodies of saints which slept were raised,

⁸ But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

¹⁴ Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem, heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John.

²⁵ They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem: But they preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

¹³ Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and lift her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

¹⁰ Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my voice against [them].

¹ PAUL an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the saints which are at [[Read] Laodicia.] Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

¹ PAUL and Timothy the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus, who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

³ And they came unto him, bringing a Paralytic who was carried of four. ⁴ And when they could not come nigh for the multitude, they uncovered the roof where Jesus was: and when they had broken [it] up, they let down the couch upon which the sick of the palsie was lying. ⁵ When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the Paralytick, Son, [thy] sins be forgiven thee. ⁶ But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, saying, ⁷ Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemes, who can forgive sins but God? ⁸ And when Jesus perceived in [his] spirit, that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? ⁹ Whether is it easier said to the paralytick, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk, or to say [thy] Sins be for given thee? ¹⁰ But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to for give sins, he saith to the paralytick, ¹¹ I say unto thee Arise, take up thy couch, and go unto thine house.

²⁵ And a certain woman who had an issue of blood twelve years,

²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, from a Child.

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath-day?

⁵ But a man was there, who had lived thirty and eight years in his infirmity.

¹ And as he passed by, he saw a man who was blind from [his] birth, sitting.

²¹ But by that means he now seeth, we know not, or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age, ask him, he shall speak for himself.

² And lo a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entred into the temple.

²² For the man was above forty years old, on whom the miracle of healing was shewed.

⁸ And there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, from his mother's womb, who never had walked.

³ And Jesus put forth [his] hand and touched him, saying, I will: Be thou clean. And immediately his leprosie was cleansed.

⁶ But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, then saith he to him who had the palsie, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thine house.

²⁸ And he cometh into the house, and the two blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto hem, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yes, Lord. ²⁹ Then touched he their eyes, and said, According to your faith, be it unto you. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened, and Jesus straitly charged them; saying, See that no one know [it].

¹¹ This beginning of signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

⁶ Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but what I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Walk.

¹² But Peter answered and said unto them, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or piety we had done this?

¹⁶ And through the faith of his name, hath his name strengthened this man, whom ye see, and know that the faith which is by him, hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹⁰ Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

¹⁸ And this did she many days. But Paul turned to the spirit, and being grieved said, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out immediately.

⁴ But many of them which heard the word, believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

¹² And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in the temple, in Solomon's cloister. ¹³ And of the rest durst noone join himself to them: but the people magnified them. ¹⁴ And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.

⁴² And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord:

²¹ But the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

¹⁹ Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them who from among the Gentiles are turned to God;

¹⁰ And this was for two years; [And] all they which dwelt in Asia, heard the words of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.

²⁰ So mightily grew the word of God, and prevailed, and the faith of God increased and multiplied.

¹⁶ Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

⁹ For they themselves shew of us, what manner of entring in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, ¹⁰ And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath that is coming.

⁵ For I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, he bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye cannot do any [thing].

⁸ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit, so be ye my disciples.

⁴ And stedfastly looking on him, and being much affrighted, he said, What is it, Lord?And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. ⁵ And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose sirname is Peter:

³¹ And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance before God.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained, that we should walk in them.

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of Christ. [God.]

¹⁰ And indeed ye do it towards all the brethren, which ar in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, Brethren, that ye increase more and more;

⁹ In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety: not with broidered hair, and gold, or pearle, or costly array; ¹⁰ But, which becometh women professing godliness, with good employments.

¹⁰ Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

⁷ In all things shewing thy self a pattern of good works: in doctrine, gravity, sincerity,

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

⁸ [This is] a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they who have believed in God, may be careful to employ themselves in honest trades: these things are good and profitable unto men.

²¹ Make us perfect in every good work: that we may do his will; working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever: Amen.

²⁷ For pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father, is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, to keep himself unspotted from the world.

¹⁵ And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: and there make ready for us.

³ Therefore his sisters sent unto Jesus, saying, Lord, behold, he who thou lovest, is sick. ⁴ When Jesus heard [that], he said, His sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

³⁶ The Jews, therefore said, Behold how he loved him. ³⁷ But some of them said, Could not this man, who opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

¹³ And when they were come in[,] they went up into the upper room, where abode both Peter, John, and James, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James [the son] of Alpheus, Simon Zelotes, and Judas [the] Son of James.

³⁹ Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper room, and all the widows stood round about him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them.

⁸ And there were many lamps in the upper chamber where we were gathered together.

³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, who by interpretation is called Dorcas [a Doe] this woman was full of good works, and alms deeds which she did.

¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

³⁶ Naked; and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thisty, and gave [thee] drink? ³⁸ When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? and naked, and clothed [thee]? ³⁹ Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

¹¹ For ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always.

⁸ She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These [were] my words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms concerning me.

¹² What thou gavest me, that they they may be one as we are. While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those that thou gavest me I have kept: And none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

² And devout men carried Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.

³⁵ I have shewed you every thing, that so labouring ye ought to support the weak; and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹² For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, not according to that he hath not.

²⁸ Let him that stole, steal no more; but rather let him labour; working with his own hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

³ Remembring without ceasing the work of your faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God, and our Father:

¹³ But we would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.

¹⁵ If a brother or sister be naked, or destitute of daily food; ¹⁶ And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed, and filled: notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what profit is it? ¹⁷ Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

²⁵ But when the people were put forth, he came and took her by the hand, and the damsel arose.

⁴⁰ But they laughed at him: but when he had himself put the multitude out, he taketh the father and the mother of the little child, and these that were with him, and entered in where the little child was. ⁴¹ And he rook the little child by the hand and said unto her, Thabita cumi, which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee arise. ⁴² And straightway the damsel arose, and walked about; Now she was twelve years of [age], and they were all astonished with a great astonishment.

²⁵ And when Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, Come out of him, and enter no more into him.

⁵⁴ But he took her by the hand, and called, saying, Damsel arise.

⁴¹ But he was withdrawn from them about a stones throw, and kneeled down, and prayed,

⁴³ And when he has spoken this, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. ⁴⁴ And he that was dead come forth presently, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

⁶⁰ And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, saying, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. And Saul was consenting unto his death.

³⁶ And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

⁵ And when we had accomplished those days, we departed, and the next day we went out and walked our way, and they all brought us on our journey, with wives and children, till[we] [were] out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

³¹ And he came to her and took her by the hand, and lift her up, and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

¹² But it came to pass when he was come nigh to the gate of the city, there was one dead carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and much people ofthe city followed along with her.

¹⁵ And he that was dead, sat up and began to speak: and he gave him to his mother.

⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and raised [him] up, and immediately he stood up, and his feet and ankle-bones received strength.

¹² And when they had saluted him, they brought the young man alive, and they were not a little comforted.

⁴ When Jesus heard [that], he said, His sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

⁴⁵ Many therefore of the Jews who came to Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed on him.

¹¹ Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

⁴⁴ Jesus therefore cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

³⁵ And all that dwelt at Lydda, and Saron, saw him, and turned to the Lord.

¹⁷ And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. ¹⁸ But many that believed came, and confessed, and told their deeds.
