¹⁶ For we have not folowed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye witnesses of his majesty.

²⁸ Verily I say unto you, There be some of those that stand here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth unto the west: so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

¹⁸ And Jesus came, and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.

¹ And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here with me, who shall not taste of death, till they shall see the kingdom of God come with power. ² And after six days, Jesus taketh with him, Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

²⁸ And it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, he took Peter, and James, and John, and went up into a mountain to pray.

³⁰ And behold two men talked with him, who were Moses and Elias. ³¹ Who appeared in glory: But they spake of his decease which he was to accomplish at Jerusalem. ³² But Peter, and they that were with him, were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and pitched his tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that every one whom thou hast given him may have eternal life.

⁴ And fore ordained the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

⁷ So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁷ For Christ sent me not to baptize, to but preach the gospel not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be of none effect.

²³ But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Gentiles foolishness;

¹ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech, or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

⁴ And my speech, and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of wisdom, but in the revelation of the Spirit, and of power:

⁴ In the name of our Lord Jesus, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,

¹⁷ For we are not as the rest, who corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the light of God speak we in Christ.

² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth, commending our selves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹⁶ But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile. ¹⁷ Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?

¹⁴ That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the flight of men, the cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive:

²¹ Who shall change our vile body, [to be] like unto his glorious body; according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

¹⁹ For what [is] our hope, or joy, or cron of rejoicing? [are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming?

⁹ Whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all power, and signs, and wonders of a lie.

⁴ Neither to give heed to fables, and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying, which is in faith.

⁷ But refuse profane and old wives fables, and exercise thy self unto godliness.

¹⁴ Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

³ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers in scoffing, walking after their own lusts, ⁴ And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.

¹ THAT which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the word of life; ² For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you also that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us. ³ That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father sent the Son, the Saviour of the World.

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with his holy ten thousands,

⁷ Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him: even so, Amen.
