³⁶ What saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me? And where I am, ye cannot come?

⁴ Nicodemus saith to him, How can a man be born, when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

⁹ Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?

⁴¹ The Jews then murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

⁵² The Jews then debated among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

⁶⁰ Many of his disciples hearing it, said, This is an hard saying: who can hear it?

³⁴ Ye shall seek, and shall not find me, and where I am, ye cannot come.

³⁴ We have heard out of the law, that the Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up?

¹⁷ Then some of his disciples said to each other, What is this that he said to us? A little while and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while and ye shall see me? and, Because I go to the Father? ¹⁸ They said therefore, What is this little while that he speaketh of? We understand not what he saith.

¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit; for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
