³ Manifestly declared to be the letter of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in tables of stone, but in the fleshly tables of the heart.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answering said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

¹⁰ For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?

⁵ For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, (as there are many gods and many lords) Yet to us there is but one God, ⁶ the Father from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. ⁷ But there is not in all men this knowledge; for some do even until now, with consciousness of the idol, eat it as sacrificed to the idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. ⁸ But meat commendeth us not to God; for neither if we eat, are we the better, nor if we eat not, are we the worse. ⁹ But take heed, lest by any means this your liberty become a stumbling-block to the weak. ¹⁰ For if any one see thee, who hast knowledge, sitting at meat in an idol-temple, will not the conscience of him that is weak be encouraged to eat of the things sacrificed to the idol?

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? Now ye are the temple of the living God, as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.

⁹ For they themselves declare concerning us, what manner of entrance to you we had, and how ye turned from idols to God,

¹⁶ for after he had said before, This is the covenant which I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws into their hearts, and write them in their minds,
