¹¹ What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is my end, that I should prolong my life?

⁶ My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.

¹³ So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish: ¹⁴ Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web. ¹⁵ He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure. ¹⁶ He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden. ¹⁷ His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones. ¹⁸ If he shall destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

¹⁴ Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

¹¹ My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

¹⁵ And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who will see it?

²⁰ The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. ³⁶ Yet he passed away, and lo, he was not: yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
