¹⁶ And it came to pass when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed to death;

² How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

² How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.

² As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty who hath afflicted my soul;

⁷ And delivered just Lot, grieved with the habitual lewdness of the wicked: ⁸ (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, grieved his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

⁷ And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times: but God suffered him not to hurt me.

⁷ And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange to them, and spoke roughly to them; and he said to them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

²⁶ And when I have broke the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

²² Because all those men who have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

¹² And it came to pass, that when the Jews who dwelt by them came, they said to us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return to us they will be upon you.

⁶ Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways? ⁷ Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off; ⁸ Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. ⁹ By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. ¹⁰ The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. ¹¹ The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

³ I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation. ⁴ His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.

⁴ If thy children have sinned against him, and he hath cast them away for their transgression; ⁵ If thou wouldst seek to God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty; ⁶ If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

³ Should thy falsehoods make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

¹⁴ If iniquity is in thy hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

⁴ Yes, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. ⁵ For thy mouth uttereth thy iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Thy own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yes, thy own lips testify against thee.

¹¹ Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee? ¹² Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,

⁴ He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of its place? ⁵ Yes, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. ⁶ The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him. ⁷ The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down. ⁸ For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare. ⁹ The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him. ¹⁰ The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way. ¹¹ Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet. ¹² His strength shall be hunger-bitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side. ¹³ It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the first-born of death shall devour his strength. ¹⁴ His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors. ¹⁵ It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. ¹⁶ His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off. ¹⁷ His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street. ¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world. ¹⁹ He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings. ²⁰ They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before were affrighted. ²¹ Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

¹⁷ My breath is strange to my wife, though I entreated for the children's sake of my own body.

²⁰ And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times superior to all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

¹⁷ And David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.

Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thy iniquity deserveth.

¹² If thou art wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

⁴ Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether good or bad.

⁵ For every man shall bear his own burden.

⁶ And her adversary also provoked her greatly, to make her fret, because the LORD had made her barren.

³ And they said to me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.

²⁶ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

¹⁶ (38:15)For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

⁷ The LORD also will save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not magnify themselves against Judah.

²⁵ Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days in which he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

² And Jesus answering, said to them, Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? ³ I tell you, No; but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. ⁴ Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

² And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

³⁴ They answered and said to him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? and they cast him out.

²⁰ I have sinned; what shall I do to thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?

¹¹ God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked. ¹² I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark. ¹³ His archers encompass me; he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground. ¹⁴ He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. ¹¹ Thou hast brought us into the net; thou hast laid affliction upon our loins. ¹² Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

¹² Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which hath fallen upon me, with which the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. ¹³ From above hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate and faint all the day.

¹³ My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans, yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

³ Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my net.

¹² When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

²⁴ The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of its judges; if not, where, and who is he?

³² For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

³ Is it good to thee that thou shouldst oppress, that thou shouldst despise the work of thy hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

¹⁵ If I be wicked, woe to me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou my affliction; ¹⁶ For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou showest thyself wonderful upon me. ¹⁷ Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thy indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.

¹⁵ Though he shall slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain my own ways before him. ¹⁶ He also shall be my salvation: for a hypocrite shall not come before him. ¹⁷ Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears. ¹⁸ Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified. ¹⁹ Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall expire. ²⁰ Only do not two things to me: then will I not hide myself from thee. ²¹ Withdraw thy hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid. ²² Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

¹⁷ Not for any injustice in my hands: also my prayer is pure. ¹⁸ O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place. ¹⁹ Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbor!

²⁷ Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! ⁴ I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me. ⁶ Would he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. ⁷ There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

²⁰ I cry to thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.

³⁵ Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that my adversary had written a book. ³⁶ Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

⁵ For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

⁸ (40:13)Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.

⁸ For since I spoke, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach to me, and a derision, daily.

⁸ Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

² O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out to thee of violence, and thou wilt not save! ³ Why dost thou show me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for devastation and violence are before me: and there are that raise strife and contention.

²³ Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?

²⁶ When I looked for good, then evil came: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

⁸ (88:7)Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

¹⁰ Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely upon his God.

¹⁶ Give glory to the LORD your God, before he shall cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and while ye look for light, he shall turn it into the shades of death, and make it gross darkness.

¹² Wherefore their way shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

⁷ He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

⁹ He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

⁷ So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

¹¹ What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is my end, that I should prolong my life?

⁶ My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.

¹³ So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish: ¹⁴ Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web. ¹⁵ He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure. ¹⁶ He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden. ¹⁷ His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones. ¹⁸ If he shall destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

¹⁴ Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

¹¹ My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

¹⁵ And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who will see it?

²⁰ The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. ³⁶ Yet he passed away, and lo, he was not: yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

¹³ (88:12)Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? ¹⁴ (88:13)But to thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer come before thee. ¹⁵ (88:14)LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me? ¹⁶ (88:15)I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted. ¹⁷ (88:16)Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off. ¹⁸ (88:17)They came around me daily like water; they encompassed me together.

⁵ The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation. ⁶ And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and in the indignation of his anger hath despised the king and the priest.

⁸ We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

²² For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

²⁴ Why hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thy enemy?

⁹ He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; my enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.

¹⁰ Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

⁴⁶ (89:45)The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

⁷ For we are consumed by thy anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

⁵ The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

²³ But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; who have said to thy soul, Prostrate thyself, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.

²¹ For now ye are nothing: ye see my casting down, and are afraid. ²² Did I say, Bring to me? or Give a reward for me of your substance? ²³ Or, Deliver me from the enemy's hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?

⁷ But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.

¹¹ (31:10)For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

¹¹ (38:10)My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of my eyes, that also is gone from me.

²⁴ A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

¹⁰ For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Perhaps he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

⁵ Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. ⁶ For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

²¹ And the brother will deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children will rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

¹⁸ I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me.

³¹ If the men of my tabernacle have not said, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied. ³² The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveler.

³ Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us; for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

¹⁵ And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yes, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only have escaped alone to tell thee. ¹⁶ While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God hath fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I only have escaped alone to tell thee. ¹⁷ While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yes, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only have escaped alone to tell thee.

¹⁹ And behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only have escaped alone to tell thee.

⁹ Then said his wife to him, Dost thou still retain thy integrity? curse God, and die. ¹⁰ But he said to her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

¹ My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

²³ And he went up from thence to Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said to him, Go up, thou bald-head; go up, thou bald-head.

⁵ And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the elder, and the base against the honorable.

¹⁴ To him that is afflicted pity should be shown from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. ¹⁵ My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away;

⁹ (41:8)An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast to him: and now that he lieth he shall rise no more.

²⁰ (55:19)God will hear and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

⁴ For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself to prayer. ⁵ And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

⁵ My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken and become lothsome.

³⁰ My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

¹⁹ He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain: ²⁰ So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty food. ²¹ His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out. ²² Yes, his soul draweth near to the grave, and his life to the destroyers.

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

¹⁶ For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou showest thyself wonderful upon me.

²⁵ Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

¹ Moreover, the LORD said to me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

⁸ Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

¹¹ With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold. ¹² And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial to the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

²¹ And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.

¹⁶ And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

² And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan to the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster: ³ And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou hast passed over, that thou mayest enter in to the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.

⁸ And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law, very plainly.

¹ The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

¹⁸ And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed: because thou hast obeyed my voice.

¹⁹ Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.

²³ If there is a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man his uprightness: ²⁴ Then he is gracious to him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

¹⁴ (19:13)Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

³⁵ And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.

¹¹ For their redeemer is mighty; he will plead their cause with thee.

¹⁴ Thus saith the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

⁵ For thy maker is thy husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

²⁰ And the Redeemer will come to Zion, and to them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. ²¹ As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

³⁴ Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

²² For the Father judgeth no man; but hath committed all judgment to the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father who hath sent him. ²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; ²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. ²⁸ Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ And shall come forth; they that have done good to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.

⁷ In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

⁹ Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

¹¹ Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.

¹⁵ As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

¹² For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

²¹ Who will change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like to his glorious body, according to the working by which he is able even to subdue all things to himself.

² Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

⁷ Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also who pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

¹⁷ I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

¹⁹ Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

¹³ And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing towards the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

²² Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

⁷ Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him? ⁸ Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God? ⁹ Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him? ¹⁰ He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons. ¹¹ Shall not his excellence make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

²² He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for by the sword.

⁴ Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?

⁵ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁷ (9:6)O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial hath perished with them.

¹⁰ (58:9)Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath. ¹¹ (58:10)The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

¹⁴ For God will bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

¹ Judge not, that ye be not judged. ² For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and the measure which ye give, shall be measured to you again.

¹ Let every soul be subject to the higher powers. For there is no power but from God: the powers that are, are ordained by God. ² Whoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. ³ For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power; do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same: ⁴ For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou doest that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

¹¹ Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. ¹² There is one lawgiver, who is able to save, and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
