¹ (43:2)And it came to pass, when they had consumed the corn which they had brought from Egypt, their father said to them, Go again, buy us a little food.

¹⁰ And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to dwell there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

¹³ And the LORD said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I certainly bear a child, who am old?

⁵⁴ And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. ⁵⁵ And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, Go to Joseph; what he saith to you, do. ⁵⁶ And the famine was over all the face of the earth; and Joseph opened all the store-houses, and sold to the Egyptians; and the famine became severe in the land of Egypt. ⁵⁷ And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph to buy corn; because the famine was distressing in all lands.

⁵ And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.
