¹ So summoning His twelve disciples He gave them authority over unclean spirits so as to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every illness.

¹³ And do not bring us into testing, but rescue us from the evil one; because Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

²⁸ So Jesus said to them: “Assuredly I say to you that in the Regeneration, when the Son of the Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁰ When it was evening He was reclining at the table with the twelve.

⁴⁷ And while He was still speaking, there was Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.

¹⁸ And approaching Jesus asserted to them saying: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹ As you go make disciples in all ethnic nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;

¹³ He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He wanted, and they came to Him. ¹⁴ He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach ¹⁵ —also to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:

⁷ Then He summoned the twelve and began to send them out, two by two, giving them authority over the unclean spirits as He did so. ⁸ And He commanded them to take nothing for the road, except just a staff—no knapsack, no bread, no coin in the belt— ⁹ but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics. ¹⁰ And He said to them: “Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you depart from that place. ¹¹ And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah on Judgment Day than for that city.” ¹² So they went out and started preaching that people should repent, ¹³ and they were casting out many demons, and anointing with oil and healing many who were sick.

¹⁷ And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; ¹⁸ they will remove ‘snakes’; and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them at all; they will lay hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

¹³ When it was day He called His disciples, and from them He chose twelve, whom He also named apostles:

¹ Then He called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to cure diseases; ² and He sent them to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. ³ And He said to them: “Take nothing for the journey—neither staffs nor knapsack nor bread nor money, neither have two tunics apiece. ⁴ Whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there. ⁵ But as many as do not receive you, when you depart from that town, shake off even the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” ⁶ So they set out and went around, village by village, evangelizing and healing everywhere.

¹⁹ Take note, I am giving you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing at all may harm you.

¹⁵ because I will give you a mouth and wisdom such that all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or withstand.

⁴⁹ Take note, I am sending the Promise of my Father upon you; but you must stay in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

²⁷ John answered and said: “A person can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.

⁷⁰ He said to them, “Did I myself not choose you twelve? Yet one of you is a devil.”

² just as You gave Him authority over all humanity, so that He will give eternal life to all those whom You have given Him.

²¹ So Jesus said to them again: “Peace to you! Just as the Father sent me, I also send you.” ²² Upon saying this He breathed on them and said: “Receive Holy Spirit! ²³ To whomever you forgive the sins, they are forgiven to them; to whomever you retain, they have been retained.”

⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be witnesses to me —both in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and even to the last part of the earth.”

¹⁵ while you killed the Originator of life, whom God raised from among the dead, to which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ Well His name, based on faith in His name, made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith that is through Him has given him this wholeness in the presence of you all.

¹⁵ But a particular wicked spirit reacted and said, “Jesus I know, and I am acquainted with Paul, but who are you?”

¹ A great sign appeared in the sky: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

¹² she had a tremendous, high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names inscribed, namely the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel; ¹³ looking from the east, three gates, and from the north, three gates, and from the south, three gates, and from the west, three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names, of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
