⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost!’

¹³ Suddenly a multitude of the heavenly army was with the angel praising God and saying, ¹⁴ “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward mankind!”

⁷ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance.

¹⁰ Just so, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

²⁴ because this son of mine was dead and came to life; he was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.

²⁹ He who has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and hears him, has great joy at the bridegroom’s voice. So this my joy has been fulfilled.

¹⁴ You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.

⁴ in all my prayers for all of you I always pray with joy,

¹⁷ Yes, even if I am a libation being poured on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.

¹ So then, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, do stand fast in the Lord in this way, dear ones.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glorying? Is it not precisely you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?

⁷ —because of this, brothers, in all our affliction and distress we were encouraged about you by your faith; ⁸ for now we live, if you are standing firm in the Lord. ⁹ With what thankfulness can we repay God for you, for all the joy with which we are rejoicing in the presence of our God because of you;

¹⁰ who formerly were not a people but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

²⁵ Yes, you were like straying sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls.
