¹ A Prayer by Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been our dwelling place for all generations. ² Before the mountains were born and you brought forth the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God. ³ You turn men back into dust and say: "Return, O sons of men!" ⁴ For a thousand years in your eyes are like yesterday when it passes, or like a watch in the night. ⁵ You sweep mortals away in the sleep of death. They sprout again in the morning like grass. ⁶ In the morning it blossoms and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers. ⁷ Indeed, we are consumed by your anger and terrified by your wrath. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence. ⁹ For all our days pass away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a murmur. ¹⁰ The days of our years are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty years; yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it passes quickly, and we fly away. ¹¹ Who knows the power of your anger and your wrath according to the fear that is due to you? ¹² So teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom. ¹³ Relent, LORD. How long? Have compassion on your servants. ¹⁴ Satisfy us in the morning with your loyal love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. ¹⁵ Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen evil. ¹⁶ Let your work appear to your servants, your glory to their children. ¹⁷ Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands.

¹⁴ He said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." ¹⁵ Then Moses said to the LORD, "If your presence does not go with us, don't bring us up from here. ¹⁶ For how is it known here that I and your people find charism in your eyes? Is it not in that you go with us? And we are distinguished, I and your people, from all the people on the face of the earth. ¹⁷ The LORD said to Moses, "I'll do the very thing that you have said, because you have found favor in my sight and I know you by name." ¹⁸ Then Moses said, "Please show me your glory." ¹⁹ And he said, "I myself will cause all my goodness to pass over before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you, and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will show compassion to whom I will show compassion."

¹ the LORD said to Moses: ² Send men to explore the land of Canaan, which I'm about to give to the Israelites. Send one man each from his father's clan, every one a prince among them. ³ According to the LORD's command, Moses sent these men from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites. ⁴ And these are their names: from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur; ⁵ from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori; ⁶ from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh; ⁷ from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph; ⁸ from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun; ⁹ from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu; ¹⁰ from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi; ¹¹ from the tribe of Joseph, from the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi son of Susi; ¹² from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli; ¹³ from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael; ¹⁴ from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;

¹ This is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the Israelites before his death.

²⁷ The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before you; and shall say, Destroy them.

¹ And lo! a man of God, came in out of Judah, by the word of Yahweh, unto Bethel,—as Jeroboam was standing by the altar, to make a perfume.

³ Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

¹ [A maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.] I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

⁹ For thou, O the LORD, my trust; thou didst set the Most High thy refuge.

¹⁴ He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.

¹⁶ Therefore say, Thus says the Sovereign LORD: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.

⁵⁶ Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.

¹¹ But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

¹⁶ So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

¹ In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

⁷ "Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought forth before the hills?

⁴ "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. ⁵ "Who determined its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? ⁶ "On what were its foundations set and who laid its cornerstone?

²⁸ Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew? ²⁹ "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens

⁹ For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

² Your throne is established from long ago. You are from everlasting.

²⁴ Do not take me away in the midst of my days; Your years are through all generations. ²⁵ In the beginning You, O Lord, laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Your hands. ²⁶ "They will perish, but you endure. All of them will wear out like a garment; like clothing you will renew them and they will be renewed. ²⁷ But you remain the same; your years never end.

¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children,

⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, the one who keeps faith forever,

²⁵ Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born; ²⁶ When he had not made the earth or the fields or the dust of the world.

⁶ the LORD says thus, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last and besides me there is no God.

²² Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty one who resides forever, and whose name is holy: "I reside in a high and holy place, and with the contrite and humble of spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

² But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

¹² Aren't you from everlasting, LORD my God, my Holy One? We will not die. LORD, you have appointed him for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.

¹⁵ Which he will bring about in his own time, he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; ¹⁶ who alone has immortality, residing in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see; to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

¹⁰ And, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. ¹¹ They will perish, but You remain; They will all wear out like a garment. ¹² You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed; but You remain the same, and Your years will never end.”

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

⁸ "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

¹⁹ By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread, until your return to the ground. For from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return."

⁶ the LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth. His heart was grieved with pain. ⁷ So the LORD said: "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth. All of them: men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air. I am sorry that I created them."

³⁵ I, the LORD, have spoken; I will surely do this to all this evil community who has banded together against me. In this desert they will come to an end, and there they will die."

¹⁰ "In his hand are the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

¹⁴ If he set his heart on man, if he gather to himself his spirit and his breath; ¹⁵ All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.

²⁹ You hide your face, they are terrified. You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

⁴ When they stop breathing, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans evaporate!

⁷ and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

²⁴ Just before dawn, the LORD looked down from the column of fire and smoke and threw the Egyptian camp into a panic.

¹⁹ Gideon and the hundred men, who were with him, came to the outside of the camp. It was the beginning of the middle watch and they had just posted the new watch. They blew the trumpets, and broke the jars that were in their hands.

⁵ Behold, you have made my days mere handbreadths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath. Selah.

²⁵ During the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea.

⁴³ But understand this: If the owner of the house had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

³⁸ And if he shall come in the evening watch, and find them so, And if he come in the second or third [watch] they are blessed.

⁸ But do not overlook this one fact, dear friends, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like one day.

²⁶ They pass by like a ship made of reeds, like an eagle swooping down on its prey.

⁸ Like a dream that has fled away, he shall not be found; and he has fled like a vision of the night.

¹⁶ "They were snatched away before their time. Their foundation is washed away by flood.

²⁰ Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest snatches him away in the night. ²¹ "The east wind carries him off. He is gone and it sweeps him out of his place.

²⁰ As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

¹⁵ As for man, his days are as grass: his beautiful growth is like the flower of the field. ¹⁶ For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.

⁷ now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks. ⁸ and it will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through; it will reach even to the neck. And the stretching out of its wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

⁷ The multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all who fight against her and her stronghold, and who distress her, will be like a dream, a vision of the night. ⁸ And it will be as when a hungry man dreams, and behold, he eats. But he awakes and his soul is empty. Or as when a thirsty man dreams, and behold, he drinks. But he awakes, and behold, he is faint and his soul has appetite. So will the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion.

⁶ A voice shouts: "Cry out!" And I said: "What shall I cry?" The voice shouts: "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.

⁷ Who is this that rises like the Nile, like the rivers whose waters surge? ⁸ Egypt is rising like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge. He says, 'I'll rise and cover the land. I'll destroy city and its inhabitants.'

¹⁰ But the one who is rich should exult in his low position, because he will pass away like a flower of the field. ¹¹ For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its flower falls and its beauty is lost. So too, the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

²⁴ For, “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall,

² "He springs up like a flower and fades away. He is like a fleeting shadow and does not endure.

⁷ though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all the evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.

³⁰ If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

¹¹ For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its flower falls and its beauty is lost. So too, the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

¹² The Israelites said to Moses: Now we are going to die! We will perish! We are all lost! ¹³ Anyone who comes near the LORD’s tent will die! Are we all going to die?

¹⁴ "Now from the time we left Kadesh Barnea until we crossed the Wadi Zered was 38 years. All of that generation, the soldiers in the camp, were destroyed just as the LORD swore they would be. ¹⁵ For his hand was against them, that they should perish from the midst of the camp. ¹⁶ "And so all the soldiers among the people died.

¹¹ When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity, you consume his wealth like a moth. Surely every man is but a breath.” Selah.

¹³ Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they be no more: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. [Selah

⁹ For all our days pass away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a murmur.

¹¹ Who knows the power of your anger and your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?

⁸ But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger. ⁹ There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then for the Greek;

¹⁰ Therefore I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts always go astray, and they have not known My ways.’ ¹¹ So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’”

¹⁷ And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

²¹ For His eyes are on the ways of man, and He sees all his steps.

¹¹ He says in his heart, "God has forgotten. He has hidden his face. He never sees."

¹² Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

²¹ These things you have done, and I have kept silence; you thought that I was like yourself, but I will rebuke you, and set in order before your eyes.

¹⁶ - burnt with fire - cut down; they destruct at the rebuke of your face.

¹ For the music director. Of David. A psalm. O LORD, you have searched me, and you know me. ² You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You understand my thought from afar. ³ Thou measurest my going about and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. ⁴ For not a word is on my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, You know it all.

²¹ For the ways of man are before the LORD's eyes. He examines all his paths.

¹⁴ For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

¹³ the LORD says, “Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in my ways, ¹⁴ »They have walked after the stubbornness of their heart and after the Baals as their fathers taught them. ¹⁵ Therefore, this is what the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, the God of Israel, says: "Look, I'll make these people eat wormwood and drink poisoned water. ¹⁶ I'll scatter them among nations that neither they nor their ancestors have known, and I'll pursue them with the sword until I've finished them off."

¹⁷ For my eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from my eyes.

²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

¹² Then He said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, every man in his rooms of images? They say, 'the LORD doesn't see us; the LORD has forsaken the land'.

¹ In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. ² There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

¹⁶ This will come to pass on that day when God will judge men’s secrets through Christ Jesus, as proclaimed by my gospel.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the proper time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.

¹² For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. ¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

²⁰ whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And there were open books, and one of them was the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.

³³ And he consumed their days in vanity, and their years in terror.

⁴ For a thousand years in your eyes are like yesterday when it passes, or like a watch in the night.

⁹ He answered: The days of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years, few, and evil, and they are not come up to the days of the pilgrimage of my fathers.

⁷ Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim, nor his strength gone.

³⁵ I am eighty years old today. Can I discern between good and bad? Or can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Or can I still hear the voice of singing men and women? Why should your servant be a burden any longer to my lord the king?

¹ Now King David was old and advanced in years. They put covers over him but he could not get warm.

¹⁰ "On the other hand man dies and is laid low. He breathes his last and is no more!

²⁴ They're exalted momentarily, but then they are gone; they are humbled, just like all the others. They are cut down like heads of corn.

³⁹ for he remembered that they were flesh, a passing wind that does not return.

² before the sun, and the light, and the moon, and the stars, are darkened, and the clouds return after the rain; ³ When the guards of the house tremble, and the men of strength are bent; the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows see dimly. ⁴ When the doors to the road are closed, When the sound of the grinding becomes low, And one rises at the sound of the bird, Yet all the daughters of song are prostrate;" ⁵ They are afraid of heights, and terrors are on the road. The almond tree blossoms, and the grasshopper draws itself along, and desire fails because man goes to his eternal home, and the mourners go about in the streets. ⁶ before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the spring, or the wheel broken at the cistern, ⁷ and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

¹² My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me like a shepherd's tent. I have rolled up my life like a weaver. He will cut me off from the loom. From day even to night you will make an end of me.

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul will be demanded of you. Then who will have all you have prepared?'

¹⁴ You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

¹⁸ "'If you still will not listen to me, I will discipline you seven times for your sins.

²¹ If you walk contrary to me, and will not hearken to me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you for your sins.

²⁴ I also will walk contrary to you, and will strike you seven times for your sins.

²⁸ then I will go against you in hostile anger, and also I myself will discipline you seven times for your sins.

⁵⁹ then he will inflict extraordinary plagues on you and your children, great and lasting plagues, and severe and lasting illnesses.

²⁰ the LORD will never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the LORD and / His jealousy will burn against that man. Every curse which is written in this book will rest on him. the LORD will blot out his name from under heaven. ²¹ The LORD will set him apart from all the tribes of Israel for destruction, according to the curses of the covenant that were written in this book of the Law." ²² »The next generation of your children and foreigners who come from distant countries will see the plagues that have happened in this land and the diseases the LORD sent here. ²³ [that] the whole land of it is brimstone, and salt, [and] a burning, [that] it is not sown, nor bears, nor any grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which LORD overthrew in his anger, and i ²⁴ "All the nations will say: Why has the LORD done thus to this land? Why this great outburst of anger?' ²⁵ Then they will answer themselves, 'Because they've abandoned the covenant of their LORD, the God of their ancestors that he had made with them when he brought them out of Egypt. ²⁶ And they went and served other gods and bowed down to them, gods whom they did not know them and he had not allotted to them. ²⁷ Therefore the LORD's anger burned against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book. ²⁸ Yahweh rooted them out of their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and thrust them into another land, as it is today.” ²⁹ The secret things belong to the LORD our God; but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

⁷ You, indeed, are to be feared, and who can stand before you when you are angry?

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are terrified. The godless tremble. Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with long lasting fire?

⁶ His indignation—who can stand before it? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; rocks are shattered before him.

⁵ But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear the One who, after you have been killed, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him!

¹¹ Therefore, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is clear to God, and I hope it is clear to your conscience as well.

¹⁷ for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?"

²⁹ If only they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern for themselves their end.

²⁸ And he said unto man, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to eschew evil is understanding.

⁴ "Let me know, O LORD, my end, and what is the measure of my days. Let me know how transient I am."

² so as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; ³ if, indeed, you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, ⁴ If you seek it as for silver And search for it as for buried treasures, ⁵ then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

¹³ Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding. ¹⁴ For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with her. ¹⁶ Long life is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peaceful. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her, and those who hold on to her are blessed

⁵ Get wisdom. Get understanding. Do not forget, neither swerve from the words of my mouth.

⁷ Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.

¹ My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. ² Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye. ³ Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. ⁴ Say to wisdom, You are my sister, and call understanding your kinsman,

³² Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways. ³³ Listen to instruction and be wise. Don't ignore it. ³⁴ Blessed is the person who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorways ³⁵ For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from the LORD. ³⁶ "But he who sins against me wrongs himself. All who hate me love death."

¹⁶ How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding instead of silver!

¹ An unfriendly man pursues selfishness, and defies all sound judgment. ² A fool has no delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own opinion.

¹⁷ Pay attention and listen to the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my teaching,

¹² Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge.

²³ Buy the truth, and do not sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do—do it with all your might; for in Sheol—where you are going—no one works, plans, knows, or thinks about anything.

³⁵ Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning. ³⁶ like men waiting for their master to come home from a wedding, so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once. ³⁷ Blessed are those servants whom the master finds on watch when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve and will have them recline at the table, and he himself will come and wait on them. ³⁸ And if he shall come in the evening watch, and find them so, And if he come in the second or third [watch] they are blessed. ³⁹ But understand this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. ⁴⁰ You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.”

⁴ While it is daytime, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

¹⁶ making the most of every opportunity, because these days are evil. ¹⁷ Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

¹² Why should the Egyptians say, 'With evil intent he brought them out to kill them in the mountains and wipe them from the face of the earth'? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning the disaster for your people.

¹⁴ So the LORD changed his mind and did not bring disaster on his people as he threatened.

³⁶ For the LORD shall judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none left, slave or free.

³ I am in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long? ⁴ Return, O LORD, and deliver me. Save me because of your unfailing love.

¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the enemy reproach? Shall the enemy provoke Your name forever?

¹⁴ Return, we beg you, God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,

⁴⁶ How long, O LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? Shall your wrath burn like fire?

⁴⁵ he remembered his covenant and according to the multitude of his mercies;

¹⁴ For the LORD will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants.

¹⁵ "But after I have taken them away I will have mercy on them. I will bring each nation back to its own land and to its own country.

⁸ "How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I treat you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is changed within me. All my compassion is aroused.

¹³ Tear your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity. ¹⁴ Who knoweth, he may turn and grieve,—and leave behind him, a blessing, a meal-offering and a drink-offering, to the LORD your God?

³ So the Lord relented from this. "This will not happen," said the LORD.

⁹ Who knows? God may relent and change his mind and turn from his blazing anger so that we will not perish."
