The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaimeth the work of his hands. ² Day after day they pour forth speech, and night after night they display knowledge. ³ There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. ⁴ Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, ⁵ which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. ⁶ It rises from one end of the heavens. It circles around to the other. Nothing is hidden from its heat. ⁷ The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul, The testimonies of the LORD are stedfast, Making wise the simple, ⁸ The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of the LORD are pure, giving light to the eyes. ⁹ The fear of the LORD is clean, standing forever. The judgments of the LORD are true; they are altogether righteous. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb. ¹¹ Moreover by them is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward. ¹² Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors. ¹³ Also, keep back your servant from arrogant sins; let them not rule over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression. ¹⁴ Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

⁶ Then God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters, separating water from water!" ⁷ So God made the expanse, separating the water beneath the expanse from the water above it. And so it was. ⁸ God called the expanse sky. There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

¹⁴ God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years; ¹⁵ and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so.

³ When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

⁶ By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, and all the hosts of them by the breath of his mouth.

⁶ And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is judge. Selah.

¹⁶ The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but he gave the earth to human beings.

³ Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. ⁴ Praise him, you highest heaven and the water above the sky.

¹ Praise the LORD! Praise God in his holy place. Praise him in his mighty heavens. ² Praise him for his mighty acts. Praise him for his immense greatness.

²² He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. ²³ He brings princes to nothing and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. ²⁴ No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. ²⁵ "To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?" says the Holy One. ²⁶ "Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all these? The being that brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name created all these! Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

¹¹ Tell this to them: "The gods who didn't make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from these heavens." ¹² He who made the earth by his power, and established the world by his wisdom; also stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

³ And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

¹⁹ For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. ²⁰ For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So they are without excuse.

¹⁷ God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light to the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

²² "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never cease."

²⁰ Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand and went out with all the women behind her with tambourines and dancing. ²¹ Miriam sang to them, "Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted! The horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea."

⁷ Lift your heads, you gates. Be lifted up, you ancient doors, so that the king of glory will come in. ⁸ Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. ⁹ Lift up your heads, O ye gates, yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors; that the King of glory may come in. ¹⁰ Who is this King of glory? the LORD Almighty, He is the King of glory. Selah.

¹⁶ Yours is the day, and yours is the night; you established the moon and the sun.

³ That we have heard and known and our fathers have told us. ⁴ We will not hide them from their children, telling the next generation the praises of the LORD, and his power and his wonders that he has done. ⁵ He established a decree in Jacob, and established the Law in Israel, that he commanded our ancestors to reveal to their children ⁶ so that the next generation might know— children yet to be born— that they might rise up and tell their children,

¹ Behold, praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who stand by night in the house of the LORD. ² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and praise the LORD. ³ May the LORD who fashions heaven and earth bless you from Zion.

⁸ the sun to rule by day; for His grace endures forever; ⁹ the moon and stars to rule by night; for His grace endures forever:

¹² young men and maidens, old men and children,

¹⁹ "The living, yes the living praise you, as I am doing today! Fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.

¹⁹ and lest having looked up to the sky, and having seen the sun and the moon and the stars, and all the heavenly bodies, you should go astray and worship them, and serve them, which the Lord your God has distributed to all the nations under heaven.

¹⁴ God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years; ¹⁵ and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so. ¹⁶ God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

³ He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

² He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

⁶ yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.

² But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise, with healing in its wings, and you will go out and leap like fattened calves.

¹⁸ But I ask, did they not hear? Indeed they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

¹³ But we will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has apportioned to us, a field that reaches even to you. ¹⁴ For we do not stretch ourselves out too far, as if we had not come to you, for we came even to you with the gospel of Christ; ¹⁵ So, we will not go beyond our proper limits by boasting of work [already] done by others, but we hope that, as your faith increases, our field of service among you will [also] greatly expand. ¹⁶ so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast of work already done in another man's territory.

⁵ The sun rises, the sun sets, then rushes back to where it arose.

¹⁰ I will rejoice greatly in the LORD. I will exult in my God for he has clothed me with garments of salvation. He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so will your sons marry you. And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

²⁹ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom stands and listens for him, and is overjoyed to hear the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

²⁴ Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize. ²⁵ Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable. ²⁶ Therefore I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight like I am beating the air.

¹³ Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have laid hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize, to which God has called me upward in Christ Jesus.

¹ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. ² Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁴ "'Thick clouds enwrap him, so that he does not see, and he walks on the dome of the heavens.'"

³ "Can his forces be numbered? Upon whom does his light not rise?

³ From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.

⁹ If I lift up the wings of the dawn, and I alight on the far side of the sea,

²³ if indeed you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

⁶ These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; ⁷ Repeat them to your sons, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you arise. ⁸ Tie them as reminders on your forearm, bind them on your forehead, ⁹ and write them on the door frames of your house and on your gates."

¹⁸ When he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he must write for himself a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the priests, the Levites. ¹⁹ And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to revere the LORD your God by diligently observing all the word of this law and these rules, ²⁰ And that his heart be not lifted up with pride over his brethren, nor decline to the right or to the left, that he and his sons may reign a long time over Israel.

⁴ The Rock: his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness who does no wrong, just and right is he.

⁸ This set of instructions is not to cease being a part of your conversations. meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to carry out everything that's written in it, for then you'll prosper and succeed.

⁵ Truly is not so my house with God? since he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, firm in all, and sure? yea, will he not cause to grow all my salvation, and all my desire?

¹² "I have not departed from the command of his lips. I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

³⁰ As for God, his way is perfect. The word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.

³ He restores my soul; He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

¹ A maskil of Asaph. Listen, O my people, to my teaching. Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. ² I will open my mouth in parables. I will utter dark sayings of old, ³ That we have heard and known and our fathers have told us. ⁴ We will not hide them from their children, telling the next generation the praises of the LORD, and his power and his wonders that he has done. ⁵ He established a decree in Jacob, and established the Law in Israel, that he commanded our ancestors to reveal to their children ⁶ so that the next generation might know— children yet to be born— that they might rise up and tell their children, ⁷ that they might set their hope in God, and not forget God's deeds, but keep his commandments,

⁵ Your statutes stand firm. Holiness adorns your house, Yahweh, forever more.

⁷ The works of his hands are faithfulness and justice; all his precepts are reliable.

⁹ BET How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

¹⁴ I rejoice in the way of your witnesses as over all wealth;

²⁴ Yea, Thy testimonies are my delight, they are my counsellors.

⁷² The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.

⁹⁶ Of all perfection I saw a limit; thy command is very broad. ⁹⁷ O How I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. ⁹⁸ Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more insight than all my teachers, for your laws are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I have more common sense than the elders, for I observe your precepts.

¹⁰⁵ NUN Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

¹¹¹ I inherited thy testimonies forever: for they are the joy of my heart.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold. ¹²⁸ Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way.

¹³⁰ The unfolding of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

¹⁵² Of old I have known from your laws that you have founded them forever.

¹⁹ He speaks his word to Jacob, his laws and judgments to Israel. ²⁰ He has not done this for just any nation. They do not know his ordinances. Praise the LORD.

⁴ for giving prudence to the naïve, knowledge and discretion to the young.

²² "How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge? ²³ May you turn to my argument! Behold, I shall pour out my spirit upon you; I will make my words known to you.

¹⁶ Bind up the testimony, seal up the law among my disciples.

²⁰ To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them.

³² He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony. ³³ Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful.

³⁹ You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,

⁴³ All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

² Much in every way. First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.

² Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

⁴ For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

⁸ So do not be ashamed to testify of our Lord or of me his prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,

¹⁹ Nevertheless, God's firm foundation stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

¹⁵ From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

¹⁸ Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged. ¹⁹ We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and steadfast. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

¹⁷ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.

²¹ Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and every expression of evil, and humbly receive the word planted in you, which can save your souls. ²² Obey the message; do not merely listen to it, and deceive yourselves. ²³ For anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, ²⁴ and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. ²⁵ But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom, and continues to do so—not being a forgetful hearer, but an effective doer—he will be blessed in what he does.

⁹ If we accept human testimony, God's testimony is greater, because it is the testimony of God and because he has testified about his Son. ¹⁰ Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony God has given about His Son. ¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁵ because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my requirements, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws."

¹⁶ When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between one and another, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.

⁵ »I have taught you laws and rules as the LORD my God commanded me. You must obey them when you enter the land and take possession of it. ⁶ Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and discernment in the eyes of people who'll listen to all these decrees. Then they'll say: 'Surely this great nation is a wise and discerning people.'

¹¹ then to the place which the LORD your God shall choose, to cause His name to dwell there, you must bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the wave offering of your hand and all your chosen vows which you vow to the LORD. ¹² And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God; you, your sons, your daughters, your menservants, your female servants, and the Levite that is within your gates (because he has no part nor inheritance with you).

¹¹ And thou shall rejoice before LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite who is within thy gates, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are in th

¹⁴ You shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates.

¹² And all the people went to eat and to drink and to send portions and to rejoice with great joy because they had understood the words that were taught unto them.

¹³ "You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,

⁶ The Words of the LORD are pure Words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

³ Look, and answer me, LORD, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;

⁸ I delight to do your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart.

⁴⁵ that they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.

¹² Praise you, O LORD. Teach me your statutes.

¹⁶ I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word.

⁴⁰ Look, I long for your precepts. Revive me in your righteousness.

⁵⁴ Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed.

⁹² If your law had not been my delight I would have perished in my affliction.

¹²¹ [Ayin] I have done what is right and just: leave me not to my oppressors.

¹²⁸ Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way.

¹⁴³ Trouble and anguish have taken hold of me, but Your commandments are my delight.

¹⁷¹ May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes.

⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

²³ For instruction is a lamp, and law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,

⁵ "Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

⁵ You greeted the one who gladly does right and remembers your ways. You were angry because we sinned. We continued to sin for a long time. Can we still be saved?

¹⁶ But to me your word is a joy, making my heart glad; for I am named by your name, O Lord God of armies.

²⁷ »I will put my Spirit in you. I will enable you to live by my Laws, and you will obey my rules.

¹⁷ But if you call yourself a Jew, and rely on the law and boast of your relation to God ¹⁸ if you know His will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the Law; ¹⁹ if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and truth—

²⁰ Therefore no flesh will be justified in his sight by works of the law, for through the law comes knowledge of sin.

⁷ What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet."

¹² So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good. ¹³ Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful. ¹⁴ We know that the Law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.

²² For in my inner being I delight in God’s Law.

¹⁹ For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.

¹⁰ All who rely on works of the Law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” ¹¹ And it is clear that no one is justified before God by the Law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” ¹² The Law, however, is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The one who does these things will live by them.” ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

²¹ Is the Law, then, opposed to the promises of God? Not at all! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come from the Law.

¹² He said, "Do not lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."

¹⁸ On the third day Joseph said to them, "Do this and you will live; I fear God.

¹ These are the laws which thou shalt set before them:

⁸ And what other great nation has for it just rules and regulations just like this whole law that I am setting before you today?

²⁴ Only, fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. Indeed, consider what great things he has done for you.

³ And Ahab called to Obadiah, who was over the house (and Obadiah greatly feared the LORD; ⁴ for when Jezebel cut off the LORD's prophets, Obadiah took one hundred prophets, and hid them fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

¹² And it will be as soon as I have gone from you, the Spirit of the LORD shall carry you where I know not. And when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.

¹⁵ But the former governors that were before me laid burdens upon the people, and took of them for bread and wine above forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants lorded over the people; but so did not I, because of the fear of God.

⁵ Their ways always seem prosperous. Your judgments are on high, far away from them. They scoff at all their enemies.

¹¹ Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the LORD. ¹² What man soever desireth life and loveth to see good days: ¹³ Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking lies. ¹⁴ Turn from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.

¹ For the Chief Musician. By David, the servant of the LORD. An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

⁶ Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast.

¹ By Solomon. God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son. ² He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.

¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who do them have a good understanding. His praise endures forever.

¹³ He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great.

¹ ALEPH. Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.

⁷ I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees.

³⁹ Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good.

⁶² At midnight I will get up to thank you for your righteous ordinances.

⁷⁵ I know, O LORD, that your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn, and have confirmed it, that I will obey your righteous ordinances.

¹³⁷ {Tsadi} Righteous art thou, O LORD, and true is thy judgment. ¹³⁸ You have commanded Your statutes in righteousness; they are fully trustworthy.

¹⁴² Your righteousness is forever, and Your law is truth.

¹⁹ He speaks his word to Jacob, his laws and judgments to Israel.

¹³ The fear of the LORD is to hate evil. I hate: pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth.

⁸ Yes, the LORD, walking in the way of your Laws, we wait for you. Your name and your fame are the desire of our hearts.

²² They said: "We come from Cornelius the centurion, a righteous man who respects God. He has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews. A holy angel told him to have you come to his house so he could hear what you have to say."

² And we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.

¹⁰ As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; ¹¹ there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. ¹² All have turned away; they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. ¹³ Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit; the venom of vipers is on their lips; ¹⁴ Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ "Their feet are swift to shed blood. ¹⁶ ruin and misery [are] in their ways, ¹⁷ and the way of peace they do not know." ¹⁸ "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

²² Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

³ and they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the ages!

⁷ And I heard the altar saying, "Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and just are your judgments."

² for true and just are his judgments. He has judged the great prostitute who was corrupting the earth with her lewdness and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants."

²⁶ And when the people came into the forest, behold the honey dropped, but no man put his hand to his mouth. For the people feared the oath. ²⁷ But Jonathan did not hear when his father commanded the people with the oath, so he put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and raised his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened. ²⁸ Then one of the people told him: "Your father forced the people to take a solemn oath, saying: 'Cursed is anyone who eats food today.'" That is why the people were exhausted. ²⁹ Jonathan answered: "My father brought trouble to the country. See how my eyes lit up when I tasted a little of this honey?

¹⁵ It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price. ¹⁶ "It cannot be bought with the gold from Ophir or with precious onyx or sapphire. ¹⁷ "Neither gold nor crystal can equal its value. Nor can it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold.

⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise.

¹⁰³ How sweet are your words to my taste! Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

¹²⁷ Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold.

¹³ Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding. ¹⁴ For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with her.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold. ¹¹ because wisdom is better than precious gems and nothing you desire can compare to it."

¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, even refined gold, and my yield than choice silver.

¹⁶ How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding instead of silver!

¹³ Eat honey, my son, for it is good; and a honeycomb is sweet to thy taste:

¹⁰ And whatever cause shall come to you from your brothers that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, you shall even warn them so that they do not sin against the LORD, and wrath come on you and your brothers. Do this and you shall not sin.

¹¹ I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

¹⁶ Long life is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peaceful. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her, and those who hold on to her are blessed

²² When you go, they will lead you; when you sleep they will watch over you and when you awake, they will talk to you. ²³ For instruction is a lamp, and law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,

¹⁸ A wicked man earns deceitful wages, but he who sows righteousness [has] a sure reward.

¹⁸ Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint; but happy is he that keepeth the law.

¹⁰ Say you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. ¹¹ Woe to the wicked. Disaster is upon them; for the work of his hands will be done to him.

¹⁷ Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. ¹⁸ "When I tell a wicked man that he will surely die, but you do not warn him or speak out so that he can change his wicked way in order to save his life; that wicked man will die because of his sin. I will hold you responsible for his death. ¹⁹ Yet if you warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul. ²⁰ And when the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die. Since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered. But I will require his blood at your hand. ²¹ Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous not sin, and he does not sin, he will surely live, because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul.”

³ if he see the sword coming upon the land, and blow the trumpet, and warn the people; ⁴ and he who heareth the trumpet doth not take warning; and the sword cometh and cutteth him off; his blood shall be on his own head. ⁵ He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn't take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul. ⁶ "'But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and does not blow his horn to warn the people and the enemy comes and kills someone, that watchman must die because of his sin. I will hold him responsible for their deaths.' ⁷ "So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. ⁸ When I say to the wicked man, O wicked man, you will surely die and you do not speak to warn the wicked man from his way, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand. ⁹ "But if you warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.

⁷ But when John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his place of baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

⁴ so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

⁶ But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

¹⁸ so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

³¹ Therefore be alert and remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.

¹⁴ I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children.

² to tell the people of Israel: "If a person sins unintentionally and does not keep the LORD's commandments he would have to observe the following rules: ³ "If it is the High Priest who sins and brings guilt on the people, he should present a young bull without any defects and sacrifice it to the LORD for his sin. ⁴ And he shall bring the bullock to the entrance of the tent of meeting before the LORD; and shall lay his hand on the bullock`s head, and slaughter the bullock before the LORD. ⁵ The anointed priest shall take some of the bull's blood and shall bring it to the tent of assembly, ⁶ And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil of the sanctuary. ⁷ The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the LORD, which is in the tent of assembly, and all the rest of the bull's blood he must pour out on the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of assembly. ⁸ " 'He must remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: the fat that covers the inner parts and all of the fat that is on the inner parts, ⁹ and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys ¹⁰ as it is removed from the bull of the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. ¹¹ "But the hide of the bull and all its flesh with its head and its legs and its entrails and its refuse, ¹² —all the rest of the bull—outside of the camp to a clean place where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. It is the sin offering for the assembly. ²² "When a ruler sins and becomes guilty of breaking one of the LORD's commands without intending to, ²³ when his sin is showed unto him which he hath sinned, he shall bring for his offering a he goat without blemish, ²⁴ He shall place his hand on the he-goat's head and slaughter it in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering before the LORD; it is a sin offering. ²⁵ The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. ²⁶ He must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him because of his sin, and he will be forgiven. ²⁷ "When a common person unintentionally does something wrong, even one thing forbidden by the LORD's commandments, he will be guilty. ²⁸ And shall come to know his sin: he shall offer a she goat without blemish. ²⁹ and lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it in the place of burnt offerings. ³⁰ And the priest shall take some of the blood with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar. ³¹ He must remove all of its fat just as the fat was removed from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for the LORD. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven. ³² “'If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without defect. ³³ and lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it in the place where the burnt offerings are slain. ³⁴ And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar: ³⁵ He shall remove all its fat, like the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of the LORD made by fire. The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

²⁴ "Teach me, and I will be quiet. Show me where I have been wrong.

¹² For evils without number have encompassed me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.

² Wash me from my iniquity, cleanse me from my sin.

⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me. ⁶ Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. You teach me wisdom in the inmost place. ⁷ Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. ⁸ Make me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. ⁹ Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. ¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

³ Sins overwhelmed me, but you atoned for our transgressions.

⁸ You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

² You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You understand my thought from afar.

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; too high, I cannot attain unto it.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. ²⁴ And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

⁶ For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and incurable; who can know it?

⁴ My conscience is clear, but that does not vindicate me. It is the Lord who judges me.

⁷ But only the high priest entered the inner room, and then only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

⁶ God said to him in a dream: "Yes, I know that you did this with a clear conscience. In fact, I kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her.

¹⁴ »If a man schemes and kills a man deliberately remove him from my altar and put him to death.

³⁰ But the one who acts presumptuously from among the native or alien blasphemes against the LORD, and that person must be cut off from the midst of the people. ³¹ Because he has despised the LORD's word, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall be utterly cut off. His iniquity shall be on him.'”

¹² The man who does presumptuously in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, that man shall die, and you must put away the evil from Israel. ¹³ "Then all the people will hear and be afraid. They will not act presumptuously again.

³² David said to Abigail: "Blessed is the LORD the God of Israel, who sent you today to meet me. ³³ and your discretion is blessed and you are blessed, who have kept me this day from blood guiltiness and from avenging myself with my own hand. ³⁴ For as surely as the LORD God of Israel lives, the one who restrained me from harming you indeed, had you not quickly come to meet me, by dawn there wouldn't be a single male left to Nabal."

³⁹ When David heard that Nabal was dead he said, Blessed is the LORD, who has upheld my cause against Nabal, and has kept back His servant from doing wrong. the LORD has returned the wrongdoing of Nabal on his own head. David sent and asked Abigail to become his wife.

¹³ Saul died because of his unfaithfulness to the LORD. He did not obey the word of the LORD (YHWH). He asked a medium to request information from a dead person. ¹⁴ and didn’t inquire of the LORD. Therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.

¹⁰ My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.

⁷ For the LORD is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.

²³ and I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from my guilt.

¹¹ For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

¹³³ Fix my steps in Your word; and let no evil rule over me.

¹⁶ Therefore I strive always to have a clear conscience before God and men.

¹² Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires, ¹³ Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. ¹⁴ For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

¹⁶ Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey {— } either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed. ¹⁸ You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. ¹⁹ I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. ²⁰ For when you were the slaves of sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. ²¹ What fruit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? The outcome of those things is death. ²² But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the fruit you reap leads to holiness, and the outcome is eternal life.

¹⁰ Such punishment is specially reserved for those who indulge the corrupt desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and self-willed, these men are unafraid to slander angelic majesties.

⁴ But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn (firstlings) of his flock. the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering. ⁵ but to Cain and to his offering he did not look with favor. And Cain became very angry, and his face fell.

²⁵ But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.

¹ To the chief musician, for flutes. A Psalm of David Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my meditation. ² Listen to the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.

¹ For the music director. Of David, the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said: "I love you, O LORD, my strength." ² the LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

¹⁵ Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.

¹⁸ If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened. ¹⁹ But God hath heard me; and considered the voice of my prayer. ²⁰ Thanks be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or taken away his loving kindness from me.

³⁴ May my meditation be pleasing to him. I will be glad in the LORD.

¹⁰⁸ Accept, O Lord, the freewill offerings of my mouth, and teach me Your judgments.

⁸ The LORD abhorreth the sacrifice of the ungodly; but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable to him.

¹⁴ Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "For your sake, I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring all of them down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their rejoicing.

⁶ the LORD says thus, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last and besides me there is no God.

⁴ Our Redeemer, the LORD Almighty is His name, the Holy One of Israel.

⁵ "For your Maker is your husband. the LORD Almighty is his name! The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He is called the God of all the earth.

¹⁶ to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an acceptable offering to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

⁴ By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous when God gave approval to his gifts. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

¹⁵ Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.

¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.

⁵ you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.
