¹ Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you must stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.

¹⁴ Wait for the LORD; be strong and let thy heart take courage: yea, wait for the LORD.

¹ A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

²² »Men will hate you because of me. He who endures to the end will be saved.

³¹ So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are really my disciples.

³ You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. ⁴ Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

⁴² They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

²³ When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts;

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith. “We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.

⁷ To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

¹³ Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong.

¹⁴ as you have already understood us in part, so that you may boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of our Lord Jesus.

¹ It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to withstand it; and after you have done everything, to stand firm. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

⁸ God is my witness how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

²⁷ Nevertheless, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending side by side for the faith of the gospel,

¹⁶ as you hold forth the word of life, in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

²⁶ For he has been longing for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill.

²⁰ But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, ²¹ who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself, will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in the full will of God.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, our joy, our crown of rejoicing in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? Is it not even you? ²⁰ Indeed, you are our glory and our joy.

⁸ for now I can really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. ⁹ How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we have in God's presence because of you?

¹³ so as to strengthen your hearts and make them blameless in holiness before our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. [Amen.]

¹⁵ So then, brothers, stand fast, and hold to the teachings which you were taught, whether by word, or by our epistle.

¹ You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁴ We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first.

¹⁴ Therefore, since we have such a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.

²³ Let us hold resolutely to the hope we confess, for He who promised is faithful.

³⁵ So do not throw away your confidence; it holds a great reward. ³⁶ You need to persevere, so that after you have done God’s will, you will receive what He has promised.

¹¹ Since everything will be dissolved in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness ¹² as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. ¹³ But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. ¹⁴ So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to have the Lord find you at peace and without spot or fault.

¹⁷ Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard not to be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing.

²⁰ But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹ Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep them from stumbling and to present them before His glorious presence without fault and with exultation— ²⁵ to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.

¹⁰ Because you have kept My command to endure with patience, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. ¹¹ I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
