⁵ When the camp is about to travel, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the veil of the curtain and cover the ark of testimony with it.

¹⁰ And they shall make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, and a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. ¹¹ "Cover it with pure gold inside and out and put a gold border all around it. ¹² You shall cast four rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side of it and two rings on its other side. ¹³ You shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. ¹⁴ You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark. ¹⁵ The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark and are not to be removed from it. ¹⁶ And you will put into the ark the testimony which I will give you. ¹⁷ And you are to make a cover of the best gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. ¹⁸ And make two cherubims of thick gold on the two ends of the mercy seat; ¹⁹ "Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. You shall make the cherubim of one piece with the chest at its two ends. ²⁰ "The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the chest with their wings and facing one another. The faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the chest. ²¹ And put the cover over the ark, and in the ark the record which I will give you. ²² "I will be above the throne of mercy between the angels whenever I meet with you. I will give you all my commandments for the Israelites.

³¹ “You shall make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim. It shall be the work of a skillful workman. ³² Hanging it by gold hooks from four pillars of wood, plated with gold and fixed in silver bases. ³³ You shall hang the curtain from the clasps and bring the Ark of the Testimony there inside the curtain. The curtain shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.

³⁵ He made the veil of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim. He made it the work of a skillful workman.

¹ And Bezalel made the ark of hard wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide and a cubit and a half high; ² He overlaid it with pure gold, inside and outside, and made a gold molding around it. ³ He cast four rings of gold for it, in its four feet; even two rings on its one side, and two rings on its other side. ⁴ Then he made poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold; ⁵ And he put the poles into the rings, on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark. ⁶ And he made an atonement cover of pure gold, two and a half cubits its length and a cubit and a half its width. ⁷ and made two cherubims of thick gold upon the two ends of the mercy seat: ⁸ Placing one at one end and one at the other; the winged ones were part of the cover. ⁹ The cherubim had their wings spread upward. They covered the mercy seat with their wings. The faces of the cherubim were toward the mercy seat and toward each other.

³ You shall put the ark of the testimony in it, and you shall veil the ark with the curtain.

¹⁶ All those numbered by division in the camp of Reuben are 151,450. They will be the second to travel. ¹⁷ Then the tent of meeting with the camp of the Levites will travel in the middle of the camps. They will travel just as they have camped, each as designated under his standard.

²⁷ To Kohath are the families of Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. These are the families of Kohath. ²⁸ The number of all the males from a month old and above were 8,600. ¹⁵ »When Aaron and his sons finished covering the holy things and the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites will come to carry all the holy articles. They must never touch the holy things, or they will die. The Kohathites will carry all the things from the tent of meeting.

⁷ On this mountain He will destroy the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations.

⁵¹ At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
