⁵ But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might have received from me is a gift to God'

⁹ "'If it is an animal, of which men offer an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD becomes holy. ¹⁰ »‘Do not exchange or substitute animals, a good one for a bad one or a bad one for a good one. If you do exchange one animal for another, then both animals will be holy. ¹¹ If it is any unclean animal, of which they do not offer as an offering to the LORD, then he shall set the animal before the priest; ¹² And let the priest put a value on it, if it is good or bad; whatever value the priest puts on it, so will it be. ¹³ and if the person chuse to redeem it, he shall add a fifth to the valuation. ¹⁴ "'If any man dedicate his house, it shall be holy unto the LORD. And the priest shall set it; whether it be good or bad, and as the priest hath set it, so it shall be. ¹⁵ and if he who dedicated it chuse to redeem it, he shall add thereto a fifth of the money at which it was rated, and it shall be his. ¹⁶ And if a man should hallow to the Lord a part of the field of his possession, then the valuation shall be according to its seed, fifty shekels of silver for a homer of barley. ¹⁷ If he gives his field from the year of Jubilee, the value will be fixed by your decision. ¹⁸ But if some time after, the priest shall reckon the money according to the number of years that remain until the jubilee, and the price shall be abated. ¹⁹ And if he that sanctified the field would redeem it, he shall add to its value the fifth part of the money, and it shall be his. ²⁰ "'If you do not buy it back and it is sold to someone else, it may not be redeemed. ²¹ "'When the field is released in the jubilee year, it will be holy like a field claimed by the LORD. It will become the property of the priest. ²² "'If he dedicates to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession, ²³ "'The priest must figure out the field's value until the jubilee year. You will pay its value on that day as something holy, belonging to the LORD. ²⁴ In the year of jubilee the field shall return to him from whom he bought it, to him who owns it in the land. ²⁵ All your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel. ²⁶ However, the first-born of an animal, which should be the LORD's first-born, no man shall sanctify it, whether an ox, or sheep, it is the LORD's. ²⁷ If it be an unclean beast, then let him redeem it as it is set at, and give the fifth part more thereto. If it be not redeemed, then let it be sold as it is rated. ²⁸ However, no devoted thing that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he has, either of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed. Every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD. ²⁹ `No devoted thing, which is devoted of man, is ransomed, it is surely put to death. ³⁰ And all the tenth of the land from the seed of the land, from the fruit of the tree, is to the LORD: it is holy to the LORD. ³¹ If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it. ³² And all the tithe of the herd and of the flock, all that passes under the rod, a tenth shall be holy to the LORD; ³³ "'You must not look to see if it is good or bad or exchange it. If you do exchange it, both the first animal and its substitute will be holy. They may not be bought back.'" ³⁴ These are the commandments the LORD gave Moses on Mount Sinai for the Israelites.

²⁵ It is a snare to the man to declare something is holy, and afterward to reconsider his vows.

¹⁵ But the LORD took me from tending the flock and the LORD kept saying to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.' ¹⁶ Now, then, hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not drop words against the house of Isaac. ¹⁷ 'Therefore this is what the LORD says: "Your wife will become a whore in the city, and your sons and daughters will die by the sword. Your land will be divided and apportioned, and you will die in a foreign land. Israel will surely go into exile, far from its homeland."'"

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ ¹⁷ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred? ¹⁸ And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.’

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your Father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever curses his father or mother must be put to death.’ ¹¹ But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban' (that is, a gift devoted to God), ¹² then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother, ¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this."

¹⁹ But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God.

²⁹ Peter and the other Apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than man.
