¹ The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

⁷ I will tell of the decree. The LORD said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father.

¹⁷ and lo! a voice from heaven said,"This is my son, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased."

³ The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

³³ Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

⁵ While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”

² just as they were handed down to us by the initial eyewitnesses and servants of the word. ³ Therefore, having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,

³⁵ The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.

¹⁰ But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: ¹¹ Today in the City of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!

¹⁴ The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

³⁴ I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

⁶⁹ "We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."

³¹ But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.

¹ In my first book, O Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach, ² until the day He was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen.

¹ Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, ² which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures, ³ concerning His Son, who became a physical descendant of David, ⁴ and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

³ For what the Law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh,

³² He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?

¹ In times past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets in many parts and in various ways, ² But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have touched, concerning the Word of life, ² the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us ³ We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
