1 As they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent out two disciples. 2 said to them, "Go into the village ahead of you. At once you will find a donkey tied up and a colt with it. Untie them, and bring them to me. 3 If anyone questions you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” 4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: 5 Say to the daughter of Zion, "Look, your King comes to you, humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." 6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. 8 And a very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went before him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" 10 When Jesus had entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” 11 The crowds replied, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Untie it and bring it to Me. 3 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?,' say, 'The Lord needs it,' and he will send it back here at once." 4 So they went and found the colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. They untied it, 5 some men standing there asked them, "What are you doing untying that colt?" 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and they let them go. 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, and he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their coats on the road, while others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went in front, and those who followed, shouted, "Hosanna. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. 10 Blessed, is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest! 11 Then Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts.
