¹ the LORD spoke to Moses: ² "Command the Israelites to bring you pure, virgin olive oil for the lamp stand so that the lamps will not go out. ³ Outside of the veil of the Testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. ⁴ He shall order the lamps upon the pure lampstand before the LORD continually. ⁵ "You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve loaves of it: two tenth parts of an ephah shall be in one loaf. ⁶ You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure gold table before the LORD. ⁷ And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, so that it may be on the bread for a memorial, a fire offering to the LORD. ⁸ Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. ⁹ And it shall be for Aaron and for his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, because it is a most holy thing for him from the LORD's offerings made by fire—a lasting rule." ¹⁰ And a son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel and had a fight with a man of Israel by the tents; ¹¹ The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. ¹² They put him in custody, until the will of the LORD should be declared to them. ¹³ And the Lord said to Moses, ¹⁴ Lead the reviler outside the camp; and all that heard [him] shall lay their hands upon his head, and the whole assembly shall stone him. ¹⁵ "Inform the Israelites: 'Those who treat their God with contempt will be punished for their sin. ¹⁶ He who blasphemes the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. ¹⁷ And he that taketh the life of any man shall surely be put to death. ¹⁸ and he who smites the soul of an animal, shalam for it; soul for soul: ¹⁹ If anyone injures his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him: ²⁰ fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has injured someone, so shall it be done to him. ²¹ "'Whoever kills an animal shall replace it, but whoever kills a human being shall be put to death. ²² You shall have one kind of law, for the foreigner as well as the native-born: for I am the LORD your God.'" ²³ Thus Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they brought the curser outside the camp, and they stoned him with stones, and the Israelites did just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

²⁰ "Command the Israelites that the lighting must be provided by pure virgin olive oil so that the lamps will not go out. ²¹ "Keep the lamps lit in the tent of meeting outside the canopy where the words of my covenant are. Aaron and his descendants must keep the lamps lit in the LORD's presence from evening until morning. This is a long lasting law among the Israelites for generations to come.

³⁷ the pure gold lamp stand with its lamps in a row and all its utensils, the olive oil for the lamps,

²⁴ He put the lamp stand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle.

² Speak to Aaron, and say to him, When you bring the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand. ³ Aaron did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lampstand, as the LORD commanded Moses. ⁴ This is how the lamp stand was made: The whole lamp stand, from top to bottom, was hammered out of gold. It was made exactly like the one the LORD had shown Moses.

³ and the lamp of God was not yet gone out and Samuel was laid down in the temple of the LORD where the ark of God was, ⁴ that the LORD called, "Samuel. Samuel." And he said, "Here I am."

¹¹ and they burn to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense. They also set the showbread in order on the pure table; and the lampstand of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening. We keep the instruction of the LORD our God; but you have forsaken Him.

¹⁰⁵ NUN Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

¹³⁰ The unfolding of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

²³ For instruction is a lamp, and law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,

²⁰ To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them.

² The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

¹⁶ the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”

¹⁶ In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

¹ At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. ² Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. ³ The foolish ones took their lamps, but took no oil with them. ⁴ But the wise ones took oil in flasks along with their lamps. ⁵ The bridegroom was a long time in coming, so that meanwhile they all became drowsy and fell asleep. ⁶ At midnight the cry went out: ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ ⁷ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. ⁸ The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

⁷⁹ to shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

³⁵ Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning.

⁴ In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.

⁹ The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

³⁵ John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you were willing for a season to bask in his light.

¹² Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

⁶ For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ and asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him. ¹⁸ I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, ⁹ for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. ¹⁰ Test and prove what pleases the Lord. ¹¹ Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. ¹² For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. ¹³ But everything that is exposed to the light becomes visible, ¹⁴ for the light is making everything visible. That is why it says, "Wake up, O sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.''

¹⁵ so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world ¹⁶ as you hold forth the word of life, in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

³¹ "You shall make a lamp stand of pure gold: the lamp stand and its base and stem shall be of hammered work, and its cups, calyxes, and flowers shall be of one piece with it. ³² Six branches shall proceed out of the sides of the candlestick, three out of the one side and three out of the other. ³³ three cups like almond-flowers, in the one branch apple and blossom, and thine cups like almond-flowers in the other branch apple and blossom, so, for the six branches, coming out of the lampstand. ³⁴ And in the lampstand itself, four cups,—like almond-flowers—its apples, and its blossoms; ³⁵ And under every two branches a bud, made with the branch, for all the six branches of it. ³⁶ Their buds and their branches shall be of one piece with it, all of it one beaten work of pure gold. ³⁷ "Then make a total of seven lamps. Mount the lamps so that they shed light on the space in front of it. ³⁸ Its tongs and trays shall be of pure gold. ³⁹ A talent of pure gold he shall make it, with all these vessels.

⁸ the table and the dishes, the pure gold lamp stand and all its utensils, the altar for incense,

¹⁷ He made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of beaten work. Its base, its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its flowers were of one piece with it. ¹⁸ Six on the two sides: three branches on one side, and three on the other. ¹⁹ three cups like almond-flowers in the one branch—apple and blossom, and, three cups like almond-flowers, in the next branch, apple and blossom, so for the six branches coming out of the lampstand; ²⁰ In the lampstand were four cups made like almond blossoms, its buds and its flowers; ²¹ And under every two branches a bud, made with the branch, for all six branches of it. ²² Their buds and their branches were of one piece with it. The whole thing was one beaten work of pure gold. ²³ And he made its seven lamps, and its wick trimmers, and their trays, of pure gold. ²⁴ He made it and all its vessels from a talent of pure gold.

³¹ Their responsibility was the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altar, and the vessels of the sanctuary, with which they ministered, and the curtain, and all of its use.

⁹ They must take a blue cloth and cover the lamp stand for the light with its lamp, lamp-snuffers, censer, and all the utensils for its oil with which they minister.

⁴⁹ And the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the inner sanctuary, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

¹⁵ the weight of the gold lamp stands and their gold lamps that is, the weight of gold for each lamp stand and its lamps, the weight of silver for each silver lamp stand and its lamps according to the use of each lamp stand for worship,

¹⁹ The captain of the bodyguard took away the bowls, the fire pans, the basins, the pots, the lamp stands, the pans, and the bowls for libations, both those made of gold and those made of silver.

² He asked: "What do you see?" I answered: "I see a gold lamp stand, with a bowl on top and seven lamps. There are seven pipes to each of the lamps, which are on the top. ³ And there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left."

¹¹ Then I asked the angel, "What are these two olive trees, one on the right of the menorah and one on the left?" ¹² And I answered again, and said unto him, What are these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes pour out the golden oil? ¹³ He answered me, "Do you not know what these are?" I said, "No, my lord." ¹⁴ And he said, These are the two sons of oil, whose place is by the Lord of all the earth.

² A tabernacle was constructed. In its first room were the lampstand, the table, and the consecrated bread. This was called the Holy Place.

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

⁵ Therefore, keep in mind how far you have fallen. Repent and perform the deeds you did at first. But if you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

⁴ These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

³⁰ You shall set bread of the presence on the table before me always.

²³ He set the bread in order on it before the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.

⁴ The priest answered David: "There is no ordinary bread available; only consecrated bread, provided that the young men have kept themselves from women." ⁵ David answered the priest: "Women have been kept away from us as usual when we go on a mission. The young men's bodies are kept holy even on ordinary campaigns. How much more then are their bodies holy today?"

³¹ Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes of Jacob's descendants, to whom the message from the LORD had come that "Israel shall be your name."

⁴ He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for them to eat, but only for the priests.

⁷ the promise our twelve tribes are hoping to realize as they earnestly serve God day and night. It is because of this hope, O king, that I am accused by the Jews.

³⁶ the table, with all its furnishings and the bread of the presence,

²² He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the curtain, ²³ He set the bread in order on it before the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.

⁴⁸ Solomon also made all of the vessels which were in the house of Yahweh: the golden altar and the golden table on which was the bread of the presence;

¹⁹ Solomon also made these items for God's temple: the golden altar, the tables for the Bread of the Presence,

⁴⁰ But everything must be done in a proper and orderly way.

¹⁶ "Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the long lasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."

¹⁴ And this day shall be for a memorial to you; and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord in your generations, with an everlasting observance.

⁹ And it will be for a sign to you upon your hand and for a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth, because the LORD has brought you out of Egypt with a strong hand.

¹⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, Write this in a book to keep it in remembrance; and rehearse it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will entirely blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.

² He shall bring it to Aaron's sons, the priests; and he shall take his handful of its fine flour, and of its oil, with all its frankincense; and the priest shall burn its memorial on the altar, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

³⁵ Jesus said, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will never be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty again.

⁵¹ I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.”

⁴ Cornelius stared at him in fear and asked, “What is it, Lord?” The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have ascended as a memorial offering before God.

³¹ and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard. God has remembered your gifts to the poor

²³ For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, ²⁴ and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." ²⁵ In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

⁶ to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One.

²⁵ Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

³ Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. And he was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. ⁴ The smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel's hand.

⁷ And over the table of the presence they will spread out a blue cloth and put on it the plates, dishes, and libation bowls, and the pitchers of the libation; and the bread of continuity will be on it.

³² Some of their Kohathite brothers were in charge of preparing for every Sabbath the bread set out on the table.

²⁹ They were in charge of the bread set out on the table, the flour for the grain offerings, the unleavened wafers, the baking and the mixing, and all measurements of quantity and size.

⁴ Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, to burn before him incense of sweet spices, for the continual show bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.

³³ for the bread set out on the table, for the continual grain offering, for the continual burnt offering, for the Sabbath offerings, for the new moon festivals, for the appointed feasts, for the holy offerings, for the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the service of the temple of our God.

³ He replied to them: "Have you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? ⁴ He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for them to eat, but only for the priests. ⁵ Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and yet are innocent?

³² Aaron and his sons shall eat the meat of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ³³ "They shall eat those things used for their atonement and their ordination and consecration. A layman shall not eat them, because they are holy.

¹⁶ And Aaron and his sons shall eat that which is left of it: it shall be eaten without leaven in a holy place, they shall eat it in the court of the tabernacle of witness.

³ "Gather the entire congregation at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting."

³¹ Moses told Aaron and his sons: "Cook the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Take the meat and the bread in the basket of the ordination offering. Eat them there as I commanded when I said: 'Aaron and his sons will eat it.'

¹⁷ Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, for it is most holy, and He has given it to you to take away the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?

²² "'He may eat the food of his God, what is holy and what is very holy.

⁶ So the priest gave him consecrated bread because no bread was there except the Bread of the Presence that had been removed from before the LORD and replaced with hot bread on the day it was taken away.

¹² "But you profane it, in that you say, 'The LORD's table is defiled, and its fruit, its food, is despised.'

²⁶ During the high priesthood of Abiathar, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which was lawful only for the priests. And he gave some to his companions as well.”

⁴ How he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those with him?

³⁸ Many other people also went with them, along with large numbers of sheep, goats, and cattle.

⁴ Some foreigners among the Israelites had a strong craving for other kinds of food. Even the Israelites cried again and said: "If only we had meat to eat!

¹⁵ God also said to Moses, "Tell the Israelites, 'The LORD, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered from generation to generation.

²² They shall judge the people at all times. Let them bring every major matter to you, but let them judge every minor matter. It will lighten your burden, and they'll bear it with you.

²⁶ And they judged the people at all times; any difficult cause they brought unto Moses, but every small cause they judged themselves.

⁷ “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.

¹⁵ "Inform the Israelites: 'Those who treat their God with contempt will be punished for their sin. ¹⁶ He who blasphemes the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

³³ And they that found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to the whole assembly. ³⁴ And they put him in custody, because it was not declared what should be done to him. ³⁵ And the Lord said to Moses: Let that man die, let all the multitude stone him without the camp.

¹⁴ But because you have utterly scorned the LORD in this matter, the son born for you will certainly die."

¹⁰ Set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, 'You cursed God and the king.' Then carry him out, and stone him to death."

¹³ Then the two men, scoundrels, came, sat opposite him, and the scoundrels witnessed against Naboth before the people, saying, "Naboth cursed God and the king," so they brought him outside of the city and stoned him with stones, and he died.

³⁰ Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, the LORD will surely deliver us and this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

³⁵ Who among all the gods of these lands has delivered their land from my control, so that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from me?"'"

³⁷ Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.

⁶ Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master this: ‘the LORD says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

¹⁰ 'Tell Hezekiah king of Judah this: “Don't let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

²² Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!

¹⁴ Who from all the gods of these nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, which were able to deliver his people from my hand, that your God shall be able to deliver you from my hand? ¹⁵ And now, do not let Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you in this way, nor believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand, from the hand of my fathers; also, surely your god shall not deliver you from my hand. ¹⁶ Sennacherib's officers said more against the LORD God and his servant Hezekiah. ¹⁷ And he had written letters to blaspheme the LORD, the God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah shall not deliver His people from my hand.

⁵ When their time of feasting had concluded, Job would rise early in the morning to send for them and consecrate them to God. He would offer a burnt offering for each one, because Job thought, "Perhaps my children sinned by cursing God in their hearts." Job did this time and again.

¹¹ However, stretch out your hand and strike everything he owns, and he will curse you to your face."

²² In all this, Job did not sin, nor charge God with wrongdoing.

⁵ "But stretch out your hand, and strike his flesh and bones and he will curse you to your face!"

⁹ And his wife said to him, Are you still holding fast to your integrity? Curse God and die! ¹⁰ But he replied to her, "You're talking like foolish women do. Shall we accept what is good from God but not tragedy?" Throughout all of this, Job did not sin by what he said.

¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, LORD. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.

²² Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.

²¹ And they shall pass by it, they shall fall, and be hungry: and when they shall be hungry, they will be angry, and curse their king, and their God, and look upwards.

⁶⁵ Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard his blasphemy.

¹¹ Then they prompted some men to say, “We heard Stephen speak words of blasphemy against Moses and against God.” ¹² So they stirred up the people and elders and scribes. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin. ¹³ They presented false witnesses who said, “This man never stops speaking against this holy place and against the Law.

²⁴ As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

¹¹ and cursed the God of heaven because of their sufferings and sores, but they would not repent of what they had done.

²¹ Huge hailstones, about a hundred pounds each, fell from heaven upon men. And men cursed God for the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

¹⁵ Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to seek God's will. ¹⁶ When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between one and another, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.

²³ If you do this, and God so commands you, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will also go to their homes in peace."

³⁴ And they put him in custody, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

⁵ So Moses brought their case before the LORD.

⁵ So by the direction of the Lord, Moses gave orders to the children of Israel, saying, What the tribe of the sons of Joseph have said is right. ⁶ This is the word that the LORD commanded the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, 'Let them marry whomever they like; only they must marry from within the clan of the tribe of their father.

⁴⁶ For all the days during which the infection is on him, he shall be unclean; he must live alone; his dwelling must be outside the camp."

² »Tell the Israelites: ‘If Israelites or foreigners living among you give one of their children as a sacrifice to the god Molech, they must be put to death. The common people must stone them to death.

²⁷ “'A man or a woman that is a medium or is a wizard shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones. Their blood shall be upon themselves.'”

² "Command the Israelites to send outside the camp anyone who has a serious skin disease or a discharge or anyone who is unclean from touching a dead body. ³ Whether male or female, send them forth out of the camp; and they shall not defile their camps in which I dwell among them. ⁴ So the Israelites did so. They sent them away outside the camp; just as the LORD spoke to Moses, so did the Israelites.

³⁵ And the Lord said to Moses: Let that man die, let all the multitude stone him without the camp. ³⁶ So the whole congregation took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.

⁹ but you must surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. ¹⁰ Stone him to death, because he sought to lure you from the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, from the land of slavery.

⁷ The hands of the witnesses will be the first to put him to death, and after them the hands of all the people. So you are to put away the evil from among you.

²¹ All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.

²¹ they will take the girl to the doorway of her father's house. The men of her city shall stone her to death because she has committed an act of folly in Israel by playing the harlot in her father's house. You must purge the evil from among you.

²⁵ Joshua said: "Why have you troubled us? the LORD will trouble you this day." All Israel stoned them with stones. After they stoned them they burned them with fire.

⁵⁹ At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and slipped away from the temple area.

³¹ Again the Jews took up stones to stone him. ³² Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?" ³³ “We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.”

⁵⁸ They dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. ⁵⁹ While they were stoning him, Stephen appealed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

²⁸ "You shall not blaspheme God or curse a ruler of your people.

¹ And if anyone does wrong by saying nothing when he is put under oath as a witness of something he has seen or had knowledge of, then he will be responsible:

¹⁶ "'If a woman approaches any animal, and lies down with it, you shall kill the woman, and the animal: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. ¹⁷ And if a man takes his sister, daughter of his father or his mother, and has sex relations with her and she with him, it is an act of shame: they are to be cut off before the children of their people; he has had sex relations with his sister, and his sin will be on him.

¹³ But the man who is clean and not on a journey, and he fails to observe the Passover, that person will be cut off from the people because he did not present the offering of Yahweh on its appointed time. That man will bear his guilt.

¹⁰ Set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, 'You cursed God and the king.' Then carry him out, and stone him to death." ¹¹ So the elders and nobles in authority in his town did as Jezebel said in the letter she sent them. ¹² And they proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth in a chief place among the people. ¹³ Then the two men, scoundrels, came, sat opposite him, and the scoundrels witnessed against Naboth before the people, saying, "Naboth cursed God and the king," so they brought him outside of the city and stoned him with stones, and he died.

¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the enemy reproach? Shall the enemy provoke Your name forever?

²⁰ For they go against you with evil designs, and your haters make sport of your name.

³¹ Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

⁶⁶ What do you think?” “He deserves to die,” they answered.

²⁸ Verily I say to you: All sins, and the blasphemies that men may utter, may be forgiven them: ²⁹ But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.”

⁵⁸ “Truly, truly, I tell you,” Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!” ⁵⁹ At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and slipped away from the temple area.

³³ “We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.” ³⁴ Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I have say ye are gods?' ³⁵ If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), ³⁶ then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?

¹¹ I frequently had them punished in the synagogues and tried to make them blaspheme. In my raging fury against them, I even went to foreign cities to persecute them.

⁷ Are they not the ones who blaspheme the noble Name by which you have been called?

⁵ "I will require your lifeblood as an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. I will demand an accounting from each man for the life of his fellow man. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed. For in the image of God he made man.

¹² “One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death, ¹³ but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴ »If a man schemes and kills a man deliberately remove him from my altar and put him to death.

³⁰ " 'If anyone kills a person, the killer will be put to death according to the testimony of witnesses, but someone cannot die on testimony of one person. ³¹ And you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death. But he shall surely be put to death.

¹¹ "But if there is a man who hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and murders him. If he flees to one of these cities, ¹² Then the elders of his city shall send and bring him from there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

²⁴ Cursed is he who strikes his neighbor secretly! And all the people shall say, Amen!

³⁴ the owner of the pit shall pay; he shall give silver to its owner, and the dead shall be his. ³⁵ If any man's bull gore the bull of his neighbour and he die, they shall sell the live bull and divide the money and they shall divide the dead bull. ³⁶ Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead animal shall be his own.

²¹ "'Whoever kills an animal shall replace it, but whoever kills a human being shall be put to death.

²¹ You must show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot."

³⁸ You have heard that it was said, "Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth."

² For with the same judgment you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

²³ And if there is serious injury, you will give life in place of life, ²⁴ eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, ²⁵ burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

³³ If a man opens a pit or digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or donkey falls into it,

¹⁷ And he that taketh the life of any man shall surely be put to death. ¹⁸ and he who smites the soul of an animal, shalam for it; soul for soul:

⁴⁹ There shall be one law to the native, and to the proselyte coming among you.

¹⁰ And any man of the house of Israel, or of the alien who is staying in your midst, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person that eats blood and will cut him off from his people.

³⁴ as the native among you, so shall be the alien who is staying with you; and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the LORD your God.

¹⁴ "'Foreigners living with you may want to celebrate the LORD's Passover. They must follow these same rules and regulations. The same rules will apply to foreigners and native-born Israelites.'"

¹⁵ For the assembly, there will be one decree for you and for the alien who dwells among you; it is an eternal decree for all your generations. You as well as the alien will be before the LORD. ¹⁶ "The same laws and regulations apply to you and to them."

²⁹ The same law shall be for all that sin by ignorance, whether they be natives or strangers.

¹⁴ Lead the reviler outside the camp; and all that heard [him] shall lay their hands upon his head, and the whole assembly shall stone him.

² For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment, ³ how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

²⁸ Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
