²² Guard all my statutes and all my judgments and work them: that the land where I bring you to settle not vomit you.

¹ These are the laws which thou shalt set before them:

⁴ You shall do my ordinances, and keep my statutes, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. ⁵ Keep my laws and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them, I am the Lord.

²⁵ The land was defiled. Therefore I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out her inhabitants. ²⁶ "'Live by my standards, and obey my rules. Neither you nor any foreigner should ever do any of these disgusting things. ²⁷ (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land became defiled); ²⁸ »‘If you make the land unclean, it will vomit you out as it has vomited out the people who were there before you.

³⁷ "'Obey all my laws and all my rules, and live by them. I am the LORD!'"

³³ I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you. Your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

⁴⁵ These are the instructions, decrees, and ordinances that Moses declared to the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.

¹ Moses called all the people of Israel, and said: "Hear, O Israel, the regulations and laws I declare to you today. Learn them and obey them!

²⁵ "the LORD will cause you to be stricken before your enemies. You will go out one way against them, and flee seven ways from them. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ Your bodies will be meat for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth; there will be no one to send them away.

⁸ The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of the LORD are pure, giving light to the eyes. ⁹ The fear of the LORD is clean, standing forever. The judgments of the LORD are true; they are altogether righteous. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb. ¹¹ Moreover by them is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward.

⁴⁵ that they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.

²⁰ My soul is consumed with longing for your decrees at all times.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed.

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn, and have confirmed it, that I will obey your righteous ordinances.

¹⁴⁵ I cried with all my heart. Answer me, O LORD! I will observe your statutes.

¹⁶⁰ All of your words are truth. Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.

¹⁶⁴ Seven times in a day I praise You For Your righteous ordinances.

¹⁷¹ May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes.

¹⁷⁵ Let me live that it may praise you. May your ordinances help me.

⁸ Yes, the LORD, walking in the way of your Laws, we wait for you. Your name and your fame are the desire of our hearts. ⁹ I yearn for you in the night. In the morning I long for you with all my being. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.

²⁷ »I will put my Spirit in you. I will enable you to live by my Laws, and you will obey my rules.
