²¹ “'You shall not give any of your children as a sacrifice to Molech. You shall not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.

² »Tell the Israelites: ‘If Israelites or foreigners living among you give one of their children as a sacrifice to the god Molech, they must be put to death. The common people must stone them to death. ³ And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he has given of his children unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. ⁴ And if the people of the land truly hide their eyes from that man, as he gives his seed to Molech, so as not to put him to death, ⁵ then I will set my face against that man and against his family and will cut him off with all those that fornicated after him, prostituting themselves after Molech.

⁶ They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the food of their God; therefore they shall be holy.

² "Tell Aaron and his sons that they must respect the holy offerings that the Israelites set apart for me. In this way they will not dishonor my holy name. I am the LORD."

³² You shall not profane my holy name, but I will be made holy among the children of Israel. I am the LORD who makes you holy,

³¹ You shall not do so to your God; for they have sacrificed to their gods the abominations of the Lord which He hates, for they burn their sons and their daughters in fire to their gods.

³¹ When you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? Should I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Sovereign LORD, I will not be inquired of by you!

³⁷ That they have committed adultery and there is blood on their hands? They have committed adultery with their idols; and caused their children whom they bore to me to pass through fire for them.

²⁰ "Wherever they went among the nations, they dishonored my holy name. People said about them: 'These are the LORD's people, yet they had to leave his land.' ²¹ But I had respect for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations where they went. ²² Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord, I deal thus with you, not for your sakes, house of Israel, but only for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. ²³ I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD,” says the Sovereign LORD, “when I am proven holy in you before their eyes.

²⁶ Or have you borne the booth of your king and the pedestal of your images--the star of your elohim which you made for yourselves?

¹² "But you profane it, in that you say, 'The LORD's table is defiled, and its fruit, its food, is despised.'

⁴³ You took along the tent of Moloch and the star of your god Rephan, the idols you made to worship. Therefore I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’

²³ and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

²⁴ As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
