¹ And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ² "When a person has on his body's skin a swelling or an epidermal eruption or a spot and it becomes an infectious skin disease on his body's skin, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests. ³ "The priest will examine the sore. If the hairs in it have turned white and the sore appears to be deeper than the surrounding skin, it is a dreaded skin disease, and the priest will pronounce you unclean. ⁴ But if the mark on his skin is white, and does not seem to go deeper than the skin, and the hair on it is not turned white, then the priest will keep him shut up for seven days; ⁵ And the seventh day he shall look on him: and if the leprosy be grown no farther, and hath not spread itself in the skin, he shall shut him up again other seven days. ⁶ And on the seventh day the priest shall look on him again, and if the touch be languid, and hath not spread on the outer skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean; for it is but a mark. And having washed his clothes, he shall be clean. ⁷ But if the scab spreads on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again. ⁸ The priest shall examine him; and look, if the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy. ⁹ When a sore [as] of leprosy is in a man, he shall be brought unto the priest; ¹⁰ and the priest shall examine him. Behold, if there is a white swelling in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling, ¹¹ it is a chronic skin disease. The priest will pronounce you unclean. There is no need to isolate you. You are obviously unclean. ¹² And if the disease comes out all over his skin, from his head to his feet, as far as the priest is able to see, ¹³ then the priest shall examine him. Behold, if the leprosy has covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean of the plague. It has all turned white: he is clean. ¹⁴ But whenever raw flesh appears in him, he will be unclean. ¹⁵ And the priest shall examine the raw flesh, and he shall pronounce him unclean—the raw flesh is unclean; it is an infectious skin disease. ¹⁶ But if the raw flesh stop, and turn white, he shall come to the priest. ¹⁷ and the priest shall examine him, and if the infection has changed to white, then the priest shall pronounce the afflicted person clean—he is clean. ¹⁸ "When the body has a boil on its skin, and it has healed, ¹⁹ and in the place of the boil there is a white swelling, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown to the priest. ²⁰ And the priest shall examine it, and if its appearance is deeper than the skin and its hair has changed to white, then the priest shall declare him unclean—it is an infectious skin disease; it has broken out in the skin sore. ²¹ And if the priest examines it and if there is no white hair in it and it is not deeper than the skin and it is faded, then the priest shall confine him for seven days. ²² If it spreads in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a plague. ²³ But if the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn’t spread, it is the scar from the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean. ²⁴ "Or when a body has a burn-spot from fire on its skin and the raw flesh of the burn-spot is pinkish or white, ²⁵ then the priest shall examine it, and if the hair turns white in the spot and its appearance is deeper than the skin, it is an infectious skin disease—it has broken out in the burn-spot; so the priest shall declare him unclean—it is an infectious skin disease. ²⁶ But if the priest examines it and if there is not white hair in the spot and it is not deeper than the skin and it is faded, then the priest shall confine him for seven days. ²⁷ And the priest shall examine him on the seventh day; if it has spread further on the skin, then the priest shall declare him unclean—it is an infectious skin disease. ²⁸ If the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn’t spread in the skin, but is faded, it is the swelling from the burn, and the priest shall pronounce him clean, for it is the scar from the burn. ²⁹ "When a man or woman has a plague on the head or on the beard, ³⁰ then the priest shall examine the plague; and look, if its appearance is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is an itch, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard. ³¹ And after looking at the diseased place, if it does not seem to go deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest will have him shut up for seven days: ³² And on the seventh day the priest will see the place: and if it is not increased, and there is no yellow hair in it, and it does not seem to go deeper than the skin, ³³ you will shave the head accept the area around the sore. The priest will isolate you for another seven days. ³⁴ On the seventh day, the priest shall examine the itch; and look, if the itch hasn't spread in the skin, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. He shall wash his clothes, and be clean. ³⁵ But, if the scall do indeed spread in the skin,—after he hath been pronounced clean, ³⁶ then the priest shall examine him; and look, if the itch has spread in the skin, the priest shall not look for the yellow hair; he is unclean. ³⁷ But if in his eyes the itch is arrested, and black hair has grown in it; the itch is healed, he is clean. The priest shall pronounce him clean. ³⁸ "When you, male or female, have white spots on the skin, ³⁹ the priest shall examine you. If the spots are dull white, it is only a blemish that has broken out on the skin. You are ritually clean. ⁴⁰ When a man's head is burnished and he is bald; he is clean. ⁴¹ And if his head is burnished from the edge of his face and he has a bald forehead, he is clean. ⁴² But if there is a reddish-white disease in the bald head, or the bald forehead, it is a leprous disease breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead. ⁴³ "The priest will examine you. If there is a reddish-white sore, ⁴⁴ He is a leprous man, he is unclean; the priest shall pronounce him unclean; his plague is on his head. ⁴⁵ »If you have a dreaded skin disease, you must wear torn clothes, leave your hair uncombed, cover the lower part of your face, and call out: Unclean, unclean! ⁴⁶ For all the days during which the infection is on him, he shall be unclean; he must live alone; his dwelling must be outside the camp." ⁴⁷ »When there is mildew on clothing, whether wool or linen, ⁴⁸ or on any woven piece of linen or wool cloth or on leather or anything made of leather, ⁴⁹ if it is greenish or reddish, it is a spreading mildew and must be shown to the priest. ⁵⁰ The priest shall examine the plague, and isolate the plague seven days. ⁵¹ And he is to see the mark on the seventh day; if the mark is increased in the clothing, or in the threads of the material, or in the leather, whatever the leather is used for, it is the disease biting into it: it is unclean. ⁵² And the clothing, or the wool or linen material, or anything of leather in which is the disease, is to be burned: for the disease is biting into it; let it be burned in the fire. ⁵³ And if the priest sees that the mark is not increased in the clothing or in any part of the material or in the leather, ⁵⁴ he will order that it be washed and put away for another seven days. ⁵⁵ And if upon viewing the touch after it hath been washed, the priest see that the touch hath not changed its appearance, though it hath not spread, it is unclean, and must be burned with fire. It is fixed in the garment, or web. ⁵⁶ And if the priest sees that the mark is less bright after the washing, then let him have it cut out of the clothing or the leather or from the threads of the material: ⁵⁷ And if the mark is still seen in the clothing or in the threads of the material or in the leather, it is the disease coming out: the thing in which the disease is will have to be burned with fire. ⁵⁸ And the garment, or the warp, or the woof, or any article of skin, which shall be washed, and the plague depart from it, shall also be washed again, and shall be clean. ⁵⁹ This is the law of the plague of leprosy of a woolen or linen garment, either of the warp, or woof, or any leather article, to pronounce it clean or unclean.

⁶ Again the LORD said to him, "Put your hand into your bosom." He put his hand into his bosom and as soon as he brought it out it was leprous, like snow. ⁷ Then God said, "Put your hand back into your bosom." He returned it to his bosom and as soon as he brought it out, it was restored like the rest of his skin.

³ "The priest will take you outside the camp and examine you. If the disease is healed,

³⁵ "The owner of that house must come and tell the priest that there is something that looks like mildew in his house.

⁵⁶ and for a swelling, and for a scab, and for a bright spot;

¹⁰ When the cloud withdrew from above the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous as snow. Aaron turned around to Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.

¹² "Do not let her become like something born dead with half its flesh eaten away."

⁸ "If a case is too difficult for you to decide with respect to bloodshed, civil claims, assault and battery, or other matters of dispute within your courts, bring it to the place that the LORD your God will choose. ⁹ You shall come to the priests who are Levites and to the judge who shall be in those days. You shall inquire, and they shall give you the verdict.

⁸ "In cases of leprosy, be very careful to observe exactly what the Levitical priests instructed you. Carefully follow what I have commanded them.

²⁷ the LORD will strike you with the boil of Egypt and with the tumours, the scurvy and the itch, from which you cannot be healed.

²⁹ Let it fall upon the head of Joab, and upon all his father's house. And let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has an issue, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.

¹ Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master and honorable, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

²⁷ Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever." He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.

¹⁹ Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the LORD's house, beside the altar of incense. ²⁰ And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him. ²¹ So King Uzziah was leprous until the day of his death, and he lived in a separate house as a leper, for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. And Jotham his son was over the house of the king, judging the people of the land.

⁶ From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven't been closed, bandaged, or soothed with oil.

¹⁷ therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and the LORD will make their scalps bald."

⁷ For the lips of the priest should guard knowledge, and they should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

⁴ And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

⁴⁴ “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

¹⁴ Then he charged him to tell no one; but go and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy purification, as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

¹⁴ When he saw them, he said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

³ He traveled from place to place from the Negev until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier.

¹⁰ And make a division between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

³⁰ How weak is your heart, says the Sovereign LORD, seeing you do all these things, the work of an impudent prostitute,

²³ They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

⁹ Foreigners devour his strength, and he does not know it; mold is also sprinkled upon him, and he does not know it.

¹¹ "Thus saith the Lord Almighty, Ask the priests the law, saying,

¹⁹ I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. ¹⁸ I tell you truly, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

²³ If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you withhold forgiveness from anyone, it is withheld.”

²⁸ Keep watch over yourselves and the entire flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. ²⁰ Therefore no flesh will be justified in his sight by works of the law, for through the law comes knowledge of sin.

⁷ What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet."

⁴ When you are gathered in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of the Lord Jesus, ⁵ hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. ⁶ Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?

¹⁴ If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed. ¹⁵ Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

²⁰ Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

¹⁶ But avoid worldly, empty chatter, for those who practice it will become more and more ungodly, ¹⁷ and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

¹³ while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

⁷ Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

²³ Then I will strike her children dead, and all the churches will know that I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

¹⁵ So Miriam was isolated outside the camp for seven days and the people didn't travel until Miriam was brought in.

¹⁴ then you shall inquire and make search, and ask carefully; and, behold, if the thing is truly established, that this abominable thing has been done among you,

¹⁰ "'But the Levites, who went far from me when Israel went astray, who went astray from me after their idols, will bear the punishment for their iniquity.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the proper time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.

²⁴ The sins of some men are obvious, leading the way into judgment, while those of others trail behind.

²⁵ And whoever carrieth any of their carcases shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until evening.

²⁸ He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.

⁴⁰ And he who eats of the carcass of it will wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. He also who bears the carcass of it will wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

⁸ “He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.

⁵ They have dealt corruptly with him. [They are] not his sons, [it is] their blemish, a perverse and crooked generation.

³⁸ Whatsoever prayer and supplication be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall know every man the affliction of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

⁴⁵ then hear in Heaven their prayer and their cry, and maintain their cause.

¹² Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

⁹ Who can say, "I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin?"

²⁰ Surely there is not a righteous man on earth, who does good and doesn't sin.

³ His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears; ⁴ but with righteousness he will judge the poor, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

³ A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench, but he will bring forth justice in truth.

⁸ Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me. ⁹ “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!” ¹⁰ Jesus said to him, "He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not every one of you."

¹ Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions.

¹ Since we have these promises, dear friends, let's cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit by becoming mature in our holy fear of God.

¹⁰ They consist only in food and drink and special washings—external regulations imposed until the time of reform.

²² let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

² We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to control his whole body.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. ⁸ If we say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

²² And have mercy on those who doubt, ²³ save others by snatching them from the fire; and to still others, show mercy tempered with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

²⁷ And the priest shall examine him on the seventh day; if it has spread further on the skin, then the priest shall declare him unclean—it is an infectious skin disease.

³⁵ But, if the scall do indeed spread in the skin,—after he hath been pronounced clean, ³⁶ then the priest shall examine him; and look, if the itch has spread in the skin, the priest shall not look for the yellow hair; he is unclean.

³ My body is unhealthy due to your anger, and my bones have no rest due to my sin.

⁵ Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. ⁶ From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven't been closed, bandaged, or soothed with oil.

¹² Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires, ¹³ Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. ¹⁴ For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

³ "The priest will examine the sore. If the hairs in it have turned white and the sore appears to be deeper than the surrounding skin, it is a dreaded skin disease, and the priest will pronounce you unclean.

⁷ You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: ⁸ 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

²¹ You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.

¹⁸ For as I have often told you before, and now declare even with tears: Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. ¹⁹ Their destiny is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame. Their minds are set on worldly things.

¹⁹ They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corruption. For a man is a slave to whatever has overcome him.

³ "The priest will examine the sore. ¹ Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge. He that hates reproof is stupid.

¹⁰ You hate the one who reproves in the gate, and abhor him who speaks the truth (with integrity).

¹⁹ And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

⁷ the world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its deeds are evil.

⁴ Behold, I am slight; how can I reply to You? I place my hand upon my mouth.

⁶ Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."

⁶ For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

⁸ And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: ⁹ in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me;

¹⁴ We know that the Law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.

⁸ If we say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.

⁴¹ “If you were blind,” Jesus replied, “you would not be guilty of sin. But since you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”

¹⁴ We know that the Law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. ¹⁵ I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do. ¹⁶ Now if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. ¹⁷ So it is no longer I who do it, but the sin living in me. ¹⁸ I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. ¹⁹ For I do not do the good I want to do; but the evil I do not want to do is what I do. ²⁰ And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. ²¹ So I find this ‘law’, when I want to do good, evil is right there with me. ²² For in my inner being I delight in God’s Law. ²³ But I see another law in the members of my body, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. ²⁴ What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

¹⁴ I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. ¹⁵ But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased ¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not confer with flesh and blood:

⁶ as to zeal persecuting the church, as to the righteousness of the Law blameless. ⁷ But whatever was gain to me, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸ More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ

¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; ¹⁴ the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost.

⁹ It shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boils and blisters breaking out on man and on animal, throughout all the land of Egypt.”

²⁶ He said: "If you will listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what he considers right, if you pay attention to his commands and obey all his laws, I will never make you suffer any of the diseases I made the Egyptians suffer. I am the LORD, who heals you."

⁷ Isaiah said, "Take a cake of figs." They took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

⁷ So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful sores from the sole of his foot to his head.

³ My body is unhealthy due to your anger, and my bones have no rest due to my sin. ⁴ My guilt has overwhelmed me. Like a heavy load, it is more than I can bear. ⁵ My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. ⁶ I am bowed down; I am bent over greatly. All the day I go about mourning. ⁷ For my soul is filled with mockings; and there is no health in my flesh.

²¹ Isaiah said: "Prepare a poultice of figs and apply it to the boil, and he will recover."

⁴⁵ Then it goes, and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they enter in and live there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.

¹⁴ Afterward Jesus found him in the Temple, and said to him, "See! You are well again. Give up sin, or something worse may happen to you."

²⁰ For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled by them, and overcome, they are worse off in the end than at the beginning.

⁵ hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.

²⁶ Judah recognized them and said: "She is more righteous than I, since I would not give her to my son Shelah." He did not sleep with her again.

¹³ David said to Nathan: "I have sinned against the LORD." Nathan replied: "the LORD has taken away your sin. You will not die.

² Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, "Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate the LORD? Because of this, wrath is on you from before the LORD. ³ But good things have been found with you, for you have burned the Asherahs out of the land, and have fixed your heart to seek God.

³¹ "For has any said to God, 'I am guilty, but I will not offend any more. ³² teach me yourself what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not repeat it'?

⁴ Behold, I am slight; how can I reply to You? I place my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ I spoke once, but I cannot answer twice. I will proceed no further."

¹³ He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

⁷⁵ Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

⁷ So instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

¹ Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.

² so that he can live the rest of his mortal life guided, not by human desires, but by the will of God. ³ For you have spent enough time in the past doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry.

²⁴ It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.

⁴ But if the mark on his skin is white, and does not seem to go deeper than the skin, and the hair on it is not turned white, then the priest will keep him shut up for seven days;

¹⁸ "When the body has a boil on its skin, and it has healed, ¹⁹ and in the place of the boil there is a white swelling, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown to the priest. ²⁰ And the priest shall examine it, and if its appearance is deeper than the skin and its hair has changed to white, then the priest shall declare him unclean—it is an infectious skin disease; it has broken out in the skin sore.

⁴ But if the mark on his skin is white, and does not seem to go deeper than the skin, and the hair on it is not turned white, then the priest will keep him shut up for seven days; ⁵ And the seventh day he shall look on him: and if the leprosy be grown no farther, and hath not spread itself in the skin, he shall shut him up again other seven days.

²³ But if the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn’t spread, it is the scar from the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

²⁸ And the king took counsel, and went, and made two golden heifers, and said to the people, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold, here are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

²⁹ then any prayer, any plea that is made by any person and by all your people Israel, each one who knows his own affliction and his own anguish and who spreads out his hands to this house,

⁴ Have evildoers no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call on God?

⁵ Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

²⁰ Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

¹⁵ Elders and dignitaries are the head, and prophets who teach lies are the tail.

¹¹ Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on the LORD, and say, “Isn’t the LORD among us? No disaster will come on us.”

²³ But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

¹⁴ In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. ¹⁵ For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’

² They will put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. ³ They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

³ "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today. ⁴ I persecuted this Way even to the death, detaining both men and women and throwing them into prison,

⁹ So then, I too was convinced that I ought to do all I could to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth. ¹⁰ And that is what I did in Jerusalem. With authority from the chief priests I put many of the saints in prison, and when they were condemned to death, I cast my vote against them.

³ And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. ⁴ The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

¹¹ For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, ¹² and so that all may be condemned who have not believed the truth but have taken pleasure in wickedness.

³⁴ On the seventh day, the priest shall examine the itch; and look, if the itch hasn't spread in the skin, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. He shall wash his clothes, and be clean. ³⁵ But, if the scall do indeed spread in the skin,—after he hath been pronounced clean, ³⁶ then the priest shall examine him; and look, if the itch has spread in the skin, the priest shall not look for the yellow hair; he is unclean. ³⁷ But if in his eyes the itch is arrested, and black hair has grown in it; the itch is healed, he is clean. The priest shall pronounce him clean.

⁵⁴ These are the instructions for any kind of mildew or fungus

³⁰ then the priest shall examine the plague; and look, if its appearance is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is an itch, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard.

⁵ But they do all their works to be seen by men. For they make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long,

⁹ To some who trusted in their own righteousness and viewed others with contempt, He also told this parable: ¹⁰ "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of all that I get.'

²³ You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

²² And have mercy on those who doubt,

² I know about your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. [I know] that you cannot tolerate wicked men and that you have tested those who call themselves apostles, but really are not, and found them to be liars.

⁷ But if the scab spreads on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again.

²² For in my inner being I delight in God’s Law. ²³ But I see another law in the members of my body, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. ²⁴ What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? ²⁵ Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself with my mind am enslaved to the law of God, but with my flesh I am enslaved to the law of sin.

⁴¹ And if his head is burnished from the edge of his face and he has a bald forehead, he is clean.

²³ He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him, "Go up, you baldy. Go up, you baldhead."

¹¹ His head is pure gold, his hair is wavy, black like a raven.

² They have gone up to the temple and to Dibon, to the high places to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and Medeba. Everyone's head is bald and every beard is cut off.

¹⁰ I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all of your songs to dirges. I will cause all of you to put on sackcloth and to shave all of your heads. I will make that time like mourning for an only son, and its conclusion will be like the end of a bitter day."

¹² Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires,

¹⁹ I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

¹⁰ But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet the Spirit gives you life because of righteousness.

¹³ You know that it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you.

¹⁴ "They die in their youth, among male prostitutes of the shrines.

¹ Now there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies that even deny the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. ² Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.

⁸ Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may receive a full reward. ⁹ Anyone who runs ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If any one comes to you and does not bring this Teaching, do not receive him into your house or welcome him;

²⁹ Reuben returned to the pit; and saw that Joseph wasn't in the pit; and he tore his clothes.

⁶ Then Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, "You must not let your hair hang loosely, and you must not tear your garments, so that you will not die and he will be angry with all the community. But your brothers, all the house of Israel, may weep because of the burning that the LORD caused,

¹⁰ And the high priest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes.

¹⁹ Tamar put ashes on her head, and she tore the long-sleeved robe which was on her. She put her hand on her head, and she went away, crying out as she went.

²⁰ And Job rose up and tore his robe, and shaved his head. And he fell down on the ground and worshiped.

³ For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.

⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me.

⁵ "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips (a sinner) and I live among a people of unclean (filthy) lips (speech) (language). My eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

¹¹ Get out of her my people! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of the LORD.

²⁵ Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us; for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day. We have not obeyed the LORD our God's voice.”

²⁴ Yet the king and all his servants who heard these words were not afraid, nor did they tear their garments.

¹⁵ “Go away!” they cried to them. “Unclean! Go away! Go away! Don't touch! When they fled away and wandered, men said among the nations, “They can't live here any more.”

¹⁷ "Groan silently; make no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban and put your shoes on your feet. Do not cover your mustache and do not eat the bread of men."

²² And you shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your faces, nor shall you eat the meat of mourners.

¹³ Tear your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity.

⁷ And the seers shall be ashamed, and the diviners ashamed; yea, they shall all cover their mustache, for there is no answer from God.

⁸ When Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus' knees and said, "Leave me, Lord! I am a sinful man!"

⁶ And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. ⁷ Therefore I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.

¹² As he was going into a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance

¹ the LORD said to Moses: ² "Command the Israelites to send outside the camp anyone who has a serious skin disease or a discharge or anyone who is unclean from touching a dead body. ³ Whether male or female, send them forth out of the camp; and they shall not defile their camps in which I dwell among them. ⁴ So the Israelites did so. They sent them away outside the camp; just as the LORD spoke to Moses, so did the Israelites.

¹⁴ the LORD answered: "If her father had spit in her face, she would have to bear her disgrace for seven days. So let her be shut out of the camp for a week, and after that she can be brought back in." ¹⁵ So Miriam was isolated outside the camp for seven days and the people didn't travel until Miriam was brought in.

³ Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?

⁵ The LORD struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

²¹ So King Uzziah was leprous until the day of his death, and he lived in a separate house as a leper, for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. And Jotham his son was over the house of the king, judging the people of the land.

¹² A generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not washed from their filthiness.

¹ How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a slave!

⁸ Jerusalem has grievously sinned. Therefore she has become unclean. All who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness. Yes, she sighs, and turns backward.

⁹ I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people. ¹⁰ not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, greedy, robbers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. ¹¹ But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. ¹² What business of mine is it to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? ¹³ God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”

⁶ In the name of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is living in idleness and not living according to the tradition that they received from us.

¹⁴ If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.

⁵ and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a means of gain.

¹⁵ See that no one misses the grace of God; that no bitter root spring up to cause trouble and defile many. ¹⁶ See to it that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.

²⁷ But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

¹⁵ Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

¹⁶ Moreover LORD said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet, ¹⁷ therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and the LORD will make their scalps bald." ¹⁸ In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets and the headbands and the crescent necklaces, ¹⁹ the earrings, the bracelets, the veils, ²⁰ the headdresses, the ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume bottles, the charms, ²¹ the signet rings, the nose rings, ²² the fine robes, the capes, the cloaks, the purses, ²³ and the mirrors and the linen garments, and the turbans and the wraps. ²⁴ It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.

⁶ Their webs cannot become clothing, and they cannot cover themselves with their works. Their works are works of iniquity, and deeds of violence are in their hands.

¹⁶ "'You took some of your clothes and made your worship sites colorful. This is where you acted like a prostitute. Such things should not happen. They should not occur.

¹² The night is nearly over; the day is at hand. So let us throw aside the deeds of darkness, and put on the armor of light.

²² You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts;

³ For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

²³ save others by snatching them from the fire; and to still others, show mercy tempered with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

⁵¹ And he is to see the mark on the seventh day; if the mark is increased in the clothing, or in the threads of the material, or in the leather, whatever the leather is used for, it is the disease biting into it: it is unclean.

¹¹ Be careful! Otherwise, you will forget the LORD your God by failing to keep his commands, ordinances, and statutes that I'm commanding you this day.

⁴ But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me in white clothes because they are worthy.

⁴⁴ then the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean.

³³ And any clay vessel into which it falls shall become unclean, and you must break it.

³⁵ And anything on which one of their dead bodies falls shall become unclean: an oven or a stove must be broken—they are unclean and shall be unclean for you.

⁴⁴ then the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean. ⁴⁵ "It must be torn down, and its stones, its wood, and all its plaster must be carried out of the city to an unclean place.

²⁵ "Burn the carved images of their gods with fire. Do not covet the silver or the gold that is on them. Do not take it for yourselves, or you will be snared by it. It is an abomination to the LORD your God. ²⁶ "Do not bring an abomination into your house. You must utterly detest it and you must utterly abhor it, for it is something banned."

²² Then you will dishonor your silver-plated idols and your gold-covered statues. You will throw them away like clothing ruined by stains. You will say to them: "Get out!"

¹⁹ And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books and burned them in front of everyone. When the value of the books was calculated, it came to fifty thousand drachmas. ²⁰ So the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

¹³ In your uncleanness is obscene conduct, because I cleansed you, but you were not clean from your uncleanness; you will not be clean again until ⌊I fully vent my rage⌋ on you.

⁴ It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, ⁵ who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age— ⁶ and then have fallen away—to be restored again to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame. ⁷ Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God. ⁸ But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.

⁹ But whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

²⁰ For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled by them, and overcome, they are worse off in the end than at the beginning. ²¹ It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and turn their backs on the holy commandment that was committed to them. ²² Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are terrified. The godless tremble. Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with long lasting fire?

¹² His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire."

⁷ The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

⁴¹ Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

¹⁰ And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh shall return to you, and you shall be cleansed.

¹⁴ So he went down and plunged himself into the Jordan River seven times, just as the man of God had said, and his flesh rejuvenated like the flesh of a newborn child. And he was clean.

² Wash me from my iniquity, cleanse me from my sin.

⁸ Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
