1 We must pay closer attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,
3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,
4 God also testified about it with signs, wonders, and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit given according to his will.
5 For it is not to angels that He has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
6 But there is a place where someone has testified, "What is man that you are mindful of him, or the son of man that you care for him?
7 You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor
8 You have put everything under his feet!" In thus making everything subject to man, God left nothing that was not subjected to him. But we do not as yet see everything made subject to him,
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
10 In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting for God, for whom and through whom all things exist, to make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering.
11 For he who makes holy and they who are made holy are all of one. For this cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
12 and say, "I will tell your name to my brothers, In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise";
13 And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Here am I, and the children God has given me."
14 Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
16 For surely it is not the angels He helps, but the descendants of Abraham.
17 So He had to be made like His brothers in every way, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.
18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Romans 2:25
25 Circumcision has value if you observe the Law, but if you break the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
Romans 4:16-25
16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may rest on grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
17 As it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations." This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.”
19 Without weakening in his faith, he acknowledged the decrepitness of his body (since he was about a hundred years old) and the lifelessness of Sarah’s womb.
20 Yet he did not waver through disbelief in the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
21 being fully persuaded that God was able to do what He had promised.
22 This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."
23 But the words, "it was reckoned to him," were written not for his sake alone,
24 But also for us. It shall be credited to those of us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
25 He was delivered over to death for our trespasses and was raised to life for our justification.
Galatians 3:16
16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your seed,” meaning One, who is Christ.

19 that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20 So then, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God!

1 Then Jesus was led by the spirit into the desert, to be tempted by the devil.
2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
3 The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 But he answered, "It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' "
5 Then the devil took him to the Holy City and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6 “If You are the Son of God,” he said, “throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command His angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus replied, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 Again the devil took him to a very high mountain, and he showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor,
9 “All this I will give You,” he said, “if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, "Go away, Satan. For it is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me.
8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I am content in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
