³ Go to a land flowing with milk and honey, but I will not go up among you, because you are a stiff-necked people, lest I destroy you on the way."

⁸ I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

⁵ When the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he swore to your ancestors to give you a land flowing with milk and honey you are to observe this ritual in this month.

²¹ Be attentive to him and listen to his voice; do not rebel against him, because he will not forgive your transgression, for my name is in him.

⁹ Yahweh said to Moses, “I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people. ¹⁰ And now leave me alone so that my anger may blaze against them, and let me destroy them, and I will make you into a great nation."

¹⁴ So the LORD changed his mind and did not bring disaster on his people as he threatened.

¹⁵ Then Moses said to the LORD, "If your presence does not go with us, don't bring us up from here. ¹⁶ For how is it known here that I and your people find charism in your eyes? Is it not in that you go with us? And we are distinguished, I and your people, from all the people on the face of the earth. ¹⁷ The LORD said to Moses, "I'll do the very thing that you have said, because you have found favor in my sight and I know you by name."

⁹ He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

²⁴ But I have said to you, You shall surely possess their land; and, I, I am giving it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey; I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the nations.

²⁷ And they told him, "We came to the land that you sent us, and it is flowing of milk and honey; this is its fruit.

⁸ If the LORD delight in us, he will bring us into this land, and give it us, a land that flows with milk and honey;

¹² I will smite them with the pestilence, and destroy them, and will make of thee a nation greater and mightier than they.

¹³ "Is it not enough that you brought us out of a land flowing with milk and honey only to kill us in the desert? Do you also have to order us around?

²¹ "Separate yourselves from this congregation, that I may consume them at once."

⁴⁵ Get away from this congregation so that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

⁶ Know then that it is not because of your own righteousness that the LORD your Elohim is giving to you this good land to tenant it, for you are a stiff-necked people. ⁷ Remember, and don’t forget, how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness. From the day that you left the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD. ⁸ Also in Horeb you provoked the LORD to wrath, and the LORD was angry with you to destroy you. ⁹ when I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant, which the Lord made with you, and I was in the mountain forty days and forty nights, I ate no bread and drank no water. ¹⁰ "Then the LORD gave me the two stone tablets inscribed by God's finger (Holy Spirit). On them were written all the words the LORD spoke to you from the fire on the mountain on the day of the assembly. ¹¹ "At the end of forty days and nights the LORD gave me the two stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant. ¹² "Then the LORD said to me, 'Get going! Go down from here at once! Your people whom you brought out of Egypt have become corrupt. They have turned quickly from the way that I commanded them, and have cast an idol for their use.' ¹³ And the LORD spoke to me saying:I have seen this people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people.

²⁶ I said: "I will scatter them, erasing their memory from the human race, ²⁷ Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should misunderstand, and lest they should say, Our hand has triumphed, and the LORD has not done all this.

⁶ For forty years the Israelites traveled in the wilderness until all the nation, the warriors that left Egypt, perished, because they did not listen to the voice of the LORD. To them the LORD swore that they would not see the land that he swore to their ancestors to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

³⁰ Therefore the LORD the God of Israel says, 'I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before Me forever'. But now the LORD says, 'Far be it from Me. Those who honour Me I will honour, and those who despise Me shall be despised.

⁸ They should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God.

⁵ that I may establish the oath which I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey," as at this day.'" Then I answered, and said, "Amen, LORD."

⁷ At one moment I may speak about a nation or a kingdom to uproot it, pull it down, or destroy it. ⁸ But if that nation about which I spoke turns from its evil way, I'll change my mind about the disaster that I had planned for it. ⁹ At another moment I may speak about a nation or kingdom to build it or plant it. ¹⁰ But if it does evil in my sight, to not listen to my voice, then I will relent concerning the good that I said I would do to it.

¹⁸ "When I tell a wicked man that he will surely die, but you do not warn him or speak out so that he can change his wicked way in order to save his life; that wicked man will die because of his sin. I will hold you responsible for his death. ¹⁹ Yet if you warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

¹³ When I tell the righteous that he will surely live; if he trusts in his righteousness, and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but he will die in his iniquity that he has committed. ¹⁴ Again, when I say to the wicked man, You will surely die, if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, ¹⁵ if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he will surely live. He will not die. ¹⁶ None of his sins that he has committed will be remembered against him. He has done what is lawful and right; he will surely live.

¹³ Hear and testify in the house of Jacob, declares the Sovereign LORD, the God of hosts. ¹⁴ "For on the day I punish Israel for its transgression, I will also punish the altars of Bethel and the horns of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.

⁴ And Jonah began to enter a day's journey into the city. And he cried out and said, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!

¹⁰ And when God saw their works, how they turned from their wicked ways, he repented on the evil which he said he would do unto them, and did it not.

⁵¹ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did.
