¹ The entire congregation of Israelites left the desert of Sin and traveled from place to place as the LORD commanded them. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. ² Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?" ³ The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?" ⁴ Moses cried out to the LORD: "What should I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me!" ⁵ And the LORD said to Moses, Pass on in front of the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel And take in your hand your staff with which you smote the River, and go. ⁶ "Behold! I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb. Strike the rock and water will come out of it. Then the people may drink." Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. ⁷ He called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because the children of Israel quarreled, and because they tested the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us, or not?" ⁸ Then the Amalekites came and fought with the Israelites at Rephidim. ⁹ Moses said to Joshua, "Choose some men for us and go out to fight against the Amalekites. Tomorrow I'll stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand." ¹⁰ So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. ¹¹ As long as Moses held up his hands, Israel would win, but as soon as he put his hands down, the Amalekites would start to win. ¹² When Moses' hands became heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other, and so his hands were steady until the sun went down. ¹³ Joshua defeated Amalek and his army with the sword. ¹⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, Write this in a book to keep it in remembrance; and rehearse it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will entirely blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. ¹⁵ Moses built an altar and named it "The LORD Is My Banner." ¹⁶ He said, "A hand upon the throne of the LORD. The LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.'"

¹ The whole congregation of Israelites moved from Elim to the desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai. This was on the fifteenth day of the second month after they left Egypt.

⁸ Then the Amalekites came and fought with the Israelites at Rephidim.

² They set out from Rephidim, and they came to the desert of Sinai, and they camped in the desert, and Israel camped there in front of the mountain.

¹² They set out from the desert of Sin and camped at Dophkah. ¹³ They set out from Dophkah and camped at Alush. ¹⁴ They traveled from Alush, and camped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

¹ When Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister. She said to Jacob, "Give me children, or else I will die." ² But Jacob was angry with Rachel, and said, Am I in the place of God, who has kept your body from having fruit?

²¹ and they said unto them, The LORD look upon you and judge because ye have made our savour to be a stench before Pharaoh and his slaves, putting a sword in their hands to slay us.

¹¹ They also said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you took us out to die in the desert? What have you done to us, by bringing us out of Egypt? ¹² "Did we not say in Egypt: Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert."

²⁴ So the people murmured against Moses—saying, What are we to drink?

² all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron. ³ The Israelites said to them: "If only the LORD had allowed us to die in Egypt! There we sat by our pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted! You brought us out into this desert to let us all starve to death!"

⁷ He called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because the children of Israel quarreled, and because they tested the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us, or not?"

⁴ Some foreigners among the Israelites had a strong craving for other kinds of food. Even the Israelites cried again and said: "If only we had meat to eat! ⁵ We remember the fish that we ate in Egypt for nothing, the cucumber, melon, leek, the onions, and the garlic. ⁶ "Now we have lost our appetite! Everywhere we look there is nothing but manna!"

² All the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly said to them: Oh that we had died in Egypt or in this wilderness.

²² For all the men having seen my glory and my signs which I did in Egypt and in the desert, and they will try me this ten times, they heard not to my voice.

² There was no water for the community, and they were gathered before Moses and Aaron. ³ And the people quarreled with Moses and spoke, saying, "If only we died when our brothers were dying before the LORD! ⁴ "Did you bring the LORD's assembly into this desert just to have us all die and our animals? ⁵ And, why have you brought us up out of Egypt to bring us to this evil place, not a place of seed, nor fig, nor vine, nor pomegranate; and there is no water to drink?

⁵ The people spoke against God and against Moses, "Why have you brought us from Egypt to die in the desert? There is no food and no water, and our hearts detest this miserable food."

¹⁶ Do not test the LORD your God, as you tested him at Massah.

⁶ Samuel was displeased when they said, "Give us a king to govern us." So Samuel prayed to the LORD.

¹⁸ And they tried God in their heart by asking food for their craving.

⁴¹ Again they put God to the test, and gave pain to the Holy One of Israel.

⁵⁶ But they tested and rebelled against God Most High and did not keep his statutes.

⁹ When your fathers tempted me, proved me, although they had seen my doing.

¹⁴ but gave in to their craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.

¹² But Ahaz said: "I will not ask. I will not put the LORD to the test."

¹⁵ Now we call the proud blessed; indeed, evildoers prosper. They even tempt God and escape.'

⁷ Jesus replied, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

¹ The Pharisees and Sadducees came up and to test him asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ² He replied, "In the evening you say, 'It will be fine weather, for the sky is red;' ³ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times!

¹² But Jesus declared, “It also says, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

¹² The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So the father divided his property between them.

⁹ Peter said to her, "How could both of you agree in such a way to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door; they will carry you out, too."

¹⁰ Now then, why do you test God by placing on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?

⁹ We should not test Christ, as some of them did, and were killed by snakes.

⁹ where your fathers tried Me by testing Me, and for forty years saw My works.

¹⁵ Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move out!

²⁵ And he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There he made a rule and regulation for them, and there he tested them.

¹¹ So he asked: "the LORD, why have you brought me this trouble? How have I displeased you that you put the burden of all these people on me?

¹⁰ But the whole congregation desired to stone them to death. Suddenly, the glory of the LORD appeared at the tent of meeting, to all the Israelites.

¹⁹ Korah assembled all his followers who opposed Moses and Aaron at the entrance to the tent of meeting. The glory of the LORD appeared to the entire group.

⁶ David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because they were grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.

⁵⁹ At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and slipped away from the temple area.

³¹ Again the Jews took up stones to stone him.

⁵⁰ Has not my hand made all these things?

¹⁹ Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowds over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, presuming he was dead.

¹⁹ the LORD then spoke to Moses: "Tell Aaron, Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt; its rivers, canals, ponds, and all its reservoirs. They will turn into blood. There will be blood everywhere in Egypt, even in the buckets of wood and stone pitchers." ²⁰ Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded. Aaron raised his staff and struck the Nile in front of Pharaoh and his officials. All the water in the river turned into blood.

⁸ "Take the staff and summon the community, you and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will give water. Bring out for them water from the rock, and let the community and their livestock drink." ⁹ So Moses took the staff from ⌊before⌋ Yahweh just as he command him, ¹⁰ Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels; shall we bring you water out of this rock for you?" ¹¹ Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice. And abundant water went out, and the community and their livestock drank.

⁶ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, and of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words, nor frightened by their faces, though they are a rebellious house.

²³ I only know that in town after town the Holy Spirit warns me that chains and afflictions await me. ²⁴ But I consider my life of no value to myself, if only I may finish my course and complete the ministry I have received from the Lord Jesus—the ministry of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

¹ ¶ Now as Moses shepherded the sheep of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, he led the flock to the backside of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. ² There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire coming from the middle of a bush. Moses saw that the bush was on fire but that it was not burning up. ³ Moses said, “I will go now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” ⁴ When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from the center of the bush, "Moses! Moses!" He said, "Here I am." ⁵ "Do not come any closer," God said. "Remove your sandals from your feet, because the place where you are standing is holy ground."

¹⁰ While Aaron was speaking to all the congregation of the Israelites, they turned toward the desert, and there the glory of the LORD was seen in the cloud.

¹⁵ who led you through the great and dreadful wilderness, with burning serpent, and scorpion, and thirsty ground where no water is; who brought you water out of the flinty rock;

¹⁵ and gave them bread from the heavens for their famine; and brought them water from the rock for their thirst; and said to them to go in to possess the land which you lifted your hand to give them.

⁴ There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High.

¹⁵ He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. ¹⁶ And he brought streams out of the rock and caused water to flow down like rivers.

²⁰ Yes, he struck the rock and water flowed and streams gushed out, but can he also give food or provide meat for his people?"

⁴¹ He opened a rock, and water gushed out flowing like a river in the desert.

⁸ who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters.

¹⁷ "The poor and needy search for water, but there is none! Their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. ¹⁸ "I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.

¹⁹ Look! I am about to do a new thing! Now it sprouts! Do you not perceive it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. ²⁰ The field life shall glorify Me; the jackals and the ostrich. For I provide water in the wilderness, streams in the desolation, to give drink to My people, and My chosen."

²¹ "They were not thirsty when he led them through the deserts. He made water flow from a rock for them. He split a rock, and water gushed out.

¹⁰ Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

¹⁴ But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”

³⁷ Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. ³⁸ Whoever believes in Me, just as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”

⁴ and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say Come. And let him who hears, say Come. And he who is thirsty, let him come. And whosoever will, let him take of the living water freely.

² Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?"

⁹ He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

¹³ Those were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the LORD, and he showed himself holy among them.

²⁴ "Let Aaron be gathered to his people; he will not come into the land that I have given to the Israelites because you rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.

²² "You provoked the LORD again at Taberah, Massah, and Kibroth-hattaavah.

¹⁷ Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day and I will forsake them and I will hide my face from them and they will be devoured and many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

³¹ Phinehas the priest, son of Eleazar, said to the descendants of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh, "Today we know that the LORD is among us, because you have not committed this treachery against the LORD. Therefore you have rescued the Israelites from the hand of the LORD."

⁷ In a time of need you called out and I delivered you; I answered you from the dark thundercloud; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. [Interlude]

⁸ Do not harden your heart as at Meribah, As on the day of Massah, in the desert;

⁶ "Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."

¹¹ Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on the LORD, and say, “Isn’t the LORD among us? No disaster will come on us.”

¹⁴ The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

³⁷ This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, 'God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren.' ³⁸ He was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. And he received living words to pass on to us. ³⁹ But our fathers refused to obey him. Instead, they rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.

⁸ do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion, in the time of testing in the wilderness, ⁹ where your fathers tried Me by testing Me, and for forty years saw My works.

¹² And Timna was a concubine to Esau's son, Eliphaz, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These were the sons of Esau's wife Adah.

¹⁶ Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah.

²⁰ And he looked at Amalek, uttered his oracle, and said, "Amalek is first of the nations, but his future will be forever ruin."

¹⁷ "Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt. ¹⁸ how when you were very tired and weary, they lay in wait for you on the road and eliminated everyone who was lagging behind. They had no fear of God. ¹⁹ "When the LORD your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance to possess. You will blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget.

² Thus says the LORD of Armies, 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel, opposing them when they came up out of Egypt.

¹ When David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and set it on fire.

⁷ Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the dwellers of Tyre;"

² The LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod."

²⁰ So Moses took his wife and son, put them on the donkey, and headed back to the land of Egypt. Moses took the staff of God in his hand.

¹³ Joshua defeated Amalek and his army with the sword.

¹³ Moses got up with Joshua his servant, and went up on the mountain of God.

²⁸ Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' helper since he was a young man, spoke up and said to Moses: "Stop them, sir!"

¹⁶ These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. But Moses gave Hoshea, son of Nun, the name Joshua.

³ Moses said to the people: "Your men must get ready to go to war against the Midianites. the LORD will use them to get even with Midian. ⁴ "Send one thousand men from each of the tribes of Israel."

⁴⁴ Then Moses came, along with Joshua son of Nun, and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people.

⁴⁵ And having received it in their turn, our fathers brought it in with Joshua when they took the land from the nations whom God drove out before our fathers. So it was until the time of David,

⁸ Now if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.

¹² When Moses' hands became heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other, and so his hands were steady until the sun went down.

¹⁴ He said to the elders, "Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Look, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them."

² See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah

¹⁵ As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

²⁰ and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

⁵ His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he tells you.

¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do what I command you.

⁹ Then my enemies will turn back when I call. This I know because God is for me.

¹ Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and never despair.

⁸ Therefore, I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.

¹⁶ Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

³ And draw the spear and javelin to meet those who pursue me. Say to my soul, "I am your salvation."

³ Strengthen the weak hands, and make the feeble knees firm.

⁴⁰ Then Jesus returned to the disciples and found them sleeping. “Were you not able to keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter. ⁴¹ “Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” ⁴² He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if this cup cannot go away unless I drink it, let your will be done." ⁴³ And coming he again found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ So He left them and went away once more and prayed a third time, saying the same thing. ⁴⁵ Then He returned to the disciples and said, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

³⁷ Then he return'd, and having found them sleeping, he said to Peter, Simon, are you asleep? could you not watch one hour? ³⁸ Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” ³⁹ And again he went away, and prayed, saying the same thing. ⁴⁰ And he returned again, and came and found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to say to him.

¹¹ as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the favor shown us in answer to their prayers.

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

¹⁹ for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance,

² Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful,

²⁵ Brothers, pray for us.

¹² Therefore strengthen your limp hands and weak knees.

⁶ But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

²⁸ That day Joshua took Makkedah, and put it and its king to the sword; every soul in it he gave up to the curse without mercy: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

³² And the Lord gave Lachish into the hands of Israel, and on the second day he took it, putting it and every person in it to the sword without mercy, as he had done to Libnah.

³⁷ and captured it, and struck it by the mouth of the sword, and its king, and all its cities, and every person in it; he did not leave a survivor, according to all that he did to Eglon, and destroyed it and every person in it.

⁴² All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because the LORD the God of Israel fought for Israel.

¹² Joshua took all the cities and all the kings and struck them with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed them. Just as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

¹⁴ And this day shall be for a memorial to you; and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord in your generations, with an everlasting observance.

⁹ And it will be for a sign to you upon your hand and for a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth, because the LORD has brought you out of Egypt with a strong hand.

⁴ Moses wrote down all the LORD’s words. Early the next morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain. He erected twelve sacred stones for the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁷ The LORD said to Moses, "Write you these words: for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel."

² the LORD command Moses to wrote down the places where they went as they traveled. This is the list:

⁹ Moses wrote this Law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi who carried the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.

⁷ then you shall tell them, 'Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.'"

² Thus says the LORD of Armies, 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel, opposing them when they came up out of Egypt. ³ Now, go and attack Amalek. Completely destroy all that they have. Don't spare them, but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, both ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'"

⁷ Saul attacked the Amalekites from Havilah to Shur, which is east of Egypt. ⁸ He took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people.

¹⁸ The LORD sent you on a mission: 'Go and completely destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they're destroyed.'

⁸ David and his men raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. Their territory extends from Telaim to Shur and Egypt. ⁹ David attacked the territory and left no man or woman alive. He also took sheep, cattle, donkeys, camels, and clothing and returned to Achish.

¹⁷ David fought them from twilight to the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.

¹ After the death of Saul, David returned from defeating the Amalekites and he stayed at Ziklag two days.

⁸ He asked me, 'Who are you?' So I answered him, 'I'm an Amalekite!' ⁹ "'Then he said: 'Come here and kill me! I am badly wounded and about to die.' ¹⁰ So I stood over him and killed him, because I knew he would not live after he had fallen; and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was upon his arm, and I have brought them here to my lord. ¹¹ David and all his men tore their clothes in sorrow. ¹² And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening, for Saul, and for his son Jonathan, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword. ¹³ And David said to the young man who brought the news to him, Where are you from? And he said, I am the son of an Amalekite sojourner. ¹⁴ David said to him, "How were you not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?" ¹⁵ David called one of the young men and said: »Execute him!« So he struck him and he died. ¹⁶ David said to him, "Your blood is on your head, for your mouth has testified against you by saying, 'I killed the LORD's anointed one!'"

¹² of Syria, of Moab, of the children of Ammon, of the Philistines, of Amalek, and of the plunder of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

⁴³ They killed the remaining Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.

¹⁴ Shall we again break your commandments and intermarry with the peoples who practice these detestable things? Would you not be angry with us until you destroy us with no remnant or remainder?

¹⁷ "The memory of him perishes from the earth. He has no name in the street.

²³ "Oh that my words were now written. Oh that they were inscribed in a scroll.

⁶ The enemy is finished-in ruins forever. You have uprooted their cities. Even the memory of them has faded.

⁷ The memory of the righteous shall be for a blessing; but the name of the wicked shall rot.

² "Speak now to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying, ³ 'Who among you is left that saw this house in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it seem like nothing to you?

¹⁴ And Abraham called the name of that place "the LORD will provide," for which reason it is said today, "on the mountain of the LORD it shall be provided."

²⁰ And there he set up an altar, and called it El-Elohe-Israel.

²⁴ Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it "The LORD is Peace." To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

⁴ You have rallied those who fear you round a banner out of bowshot, Selah

⁸ Your hand will find all your enemies, your right hand will find those who hate you. ⁹ When you appear, you will set them ablaze like a fire furnace. In his wrath, the LORD will consume them, and the fire will devour them. ¹⁰ You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from among the children of men. ¹¹ Though they plot evil against you and devise schemes, they will not succeed.
