Deuteronomy 5:5 Cross References - VIN

⁵ I stood at that time as mediator between the LORD and you to declare his message to you, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain. He said:

²² And the men turned thence, and went towards Sodom; and Abraham remained yet standing before the LORD.

¹⁶ When morning came on the third day, there was thunder and lightning with a heavy cloud over the mountain and the very loud sound of a ram's horn. All the people in the camp trembled.

¹⁸ The people heard the thunder and the trumpet blast. They saw the lightning and the smoking mountain. They trembled with fear and stood at a distance. ¹⁹ They said to Moses, "Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but do not let God speak with us, lest we die." ²⁰ And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. God has come to test you so that his fear will be before you so that you do not sin." ²¹ The people stayed at a distance, and Moses came near to the thick darkness where God was.

² And Moses alone will come near to the LORD, and they will not come near, and the people will not go up with him." ³ Then Moses came and put before the people all the words of the Lord and his laws: and all the people, answering with one voice, said, Whatever the Lord has said we will do.

⁴⁸ He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

²⁷ "'They spoke to Moses: 'Moses, go and listen to everything that the LORD our God says. Then tell us whatever the LORD our God tells you. We will listen and obey.'

²³ So he said he would exterminate them, had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to reverse his wrath from destroying them.

²¹ Their leader will be one of their own, and their ruler will come from among them. I'll bring him near, and he will approach me, for who would otherwise dare to approach me?' declares the LORD.

¹ And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. ² The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan. Yes, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you. Isn't this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?" ³ Now Joshua was clothed with filthy clothes, and stood before the Angel. ⁴ So the angel continued to tell those who were standing in his presence, "Remove his filthy clothes." And he said to Joshua, "Look how I've removed your iniquity. Now I'm clothing you with fine garments." ⁵ I said, "Let them set a clean turban on his head." So they set a clean turban on his head, and clothed him; and the angel of the LORD was standing by.

¹⁹ Why then was the Law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a mediator.

²⁴ For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

¹⁸ For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom, and storm; ¹⁹ to a trumpet blast and spoken words such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them ²⁰ (because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain it must be stoned!” ²¹ The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, "I am trembling with fear." ²² But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the joyful assembly ²³ and to the church of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven; and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect; ²⁴ to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
