¹ Since then you have been raised with Christ, aim at what is above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God; ² Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. ³ For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. ⁵ Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed, which is idolatry. ⁶ Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. ⁷ You once walked in these when you lived in them. ⁸ But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth. ⁹ Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices, ¹⁰ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. ¹¹ Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free, but Christ is all and is in all. ¹² Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. ¹³ Bear with each other and forgive any complaint you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. ¹⁴ And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. ¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to this; and be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. ¹⁷ And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. ¹⁸ Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. ¹⁹ Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. ²⁰ Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. ²¹ Fathers, do not provoke your children, or they will become discouraged. ²² Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart and fear of the Lord. ²³ Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as work for the Lord and not for men, ²⁴ because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ²⁵ (But he who does wrong will be repaid for this wrong, and there is no favoritism.)

¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

¹⁴ from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children. ¹⁵ By contrast, I in righteousness shall see your face. Upon awakening I will be satisfied seeing your form.

²⁵ Whom have I in heaven but you? and there is none on earth that I desire beside you. ²⁶ My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

²⁴ The path of life leads upward for the wise, to keep him from going downward to Sheol.

²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

³³ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you as well.

⁴⁴ 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet" '?

⁶⁴ “You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

³⁶ David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: 'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand till I put your enemies under your feet."'

⁶² “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

¹⁹ After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

³³ Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with purses that will not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

⁴² David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

⁶⁹ But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."

³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens; yet he saith, "The Lord said to my lord, Sit at my right hand,

⁵⁵ But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked intently into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

⁴ We therefore were buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life. ⁵ For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be raised to life as He was.

⁹ For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. ¹⁰ The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. ¹¹ In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

⁶ The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,

³⁴ Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.

¹⁸ So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

¹⁹ For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. ²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

¹⁹ and the unlimited greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength, ²⁰ which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms,

⁵ made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! ⁶ And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

¹⁰ He who descended is the very one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.

²⁰ But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, ²¹ who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself, will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

¹² And having been buried with Him in baptism, you were raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. ¹³ When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses,

²⁰ If you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to regulations--

² Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

¹³ But to which of the angels did he ever say, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"?

¹ The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,

¹² But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, "he sat down at the right hand of God."

¹³ All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw them and welcomed them from afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. ¹⁴ Those who say such things show that they are seeking a country of their own. ¹⁵ If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. ¹⁶ Instead, they were longing for a better country, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

² Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

²² who has gone to heaven and is at God's right hand, with angels, hierarchies, and powers made subject to him.

¹⁹ "Devote your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the LORD God. That way you may bring the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD and the sacred articles belonging to God into the Temple that will be built for the name of the LORD."

³ And moreover, in my affection for the house of my God I have given of my own property of gold and silver, for the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:

¹¹ Their tombs are their homes forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves. ¹² But man, despite his riches, doesn’t endure. He is like the animals that perish. ¹³ This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah. ¹⁴ Like sheep, they are laid in the grave. Death will shepherd them. The upright will rule them in the morning. Their forms will decay in the grave, far away from their comfortable homes. ¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the hand of Sheol; for He will take me. Selah. ¹⁶ Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases; ¹⁷ For he shall take nothing when he dies; neither shall his glory descend with him.

¹⁰ Do not trust in oppression. Do not become vain in robbery. If riches increase, do not set your heart on them.

¹⁴ Because he loves me, therefore I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name.

³⁶ Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain. ³⁷ Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.

⁵ When you fix your gaze on it, it's gone, for it sprouts wings for itself and flies to the sky like an eagle.

¹⁴ When times are good, be joyful, when times are bad, consider this: God made the one as well as the other, so people won't seek anything outside of his best.

¹⁹ Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

²³ But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

¹⁵ And He said to them, “Watch out! Guard yourselves against every form of greed, for a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

⁸ The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the sons of this age are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the sons of light. ⁹ I tell you, use worldly wealth to make friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, they will welcome you into eternal dwellings.

¹¹ So if you have proved untrustworthy in using your ill-gotten wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

¹⁹ "There was once a rich man, who used to dress in purple and fine linen, and to live in luxury every day. ²⁰ Near his gateway there had been laid a beggar named Lazarus, who was covered with sores, ²¹ and longing to be fed from what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. ²² Now it happened that the poor man died, and the angels carried him into AbrahamÆs bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. ²³ In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham from afar, with Lazarus by his side. ²⁴ So he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. For I am in agony in this fire.’ ²⁵ But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus received evil things; but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

⁴ in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ⁵ Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. ⁶ The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,

²³ I am torn between the two. I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better indeed.

¹⁹ Their destiny is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame. Their minds are set on worldly things. ²⁰ But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁵ Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For the things in the world--the cravings of the earthly nature, the cravings of the eyes, the show and pride of life--they all come, not from the Father, but from the world. ¹⁷ The world and its desires (lusts) are passing away; but he who does the will of God lives forever.

²⁵ At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

¹⁴ But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”

²¹ For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.

⁴⁰ yet you refuse to come to Me to have life.

³⁹ And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. ⁴⁰ For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

²⁸ I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one shall snatch them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one."

¹⁹ And the world will not see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also shall live.

¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!

²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness, to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

² Certainly not! When we have died to sin, how can we live in it any longer?

² For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

³⁴ Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ³⁶ As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” ³⁷ No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, ³⁹ neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁴ The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

⁴⁵ So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being;” the last Adam a life-giving spirit.

⁷ We walk by faith, not by sight.

¹⁴ For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, therefore all died.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

⁵ springing from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel

³ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

⁴ When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

²⁵ Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, ⁵ who through faith are protected by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

⁴ but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.

¹⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna. And I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone which no one knows except him who receives it.'

¹⁵ By contrast, I in righteousness shall see your face. Upon awakening I will be satisfied seeing your form.

²⁴ You shall guide me by Your counsel; and afterward You will take me to glory.

⁸ He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces. He will take away the disgrace of His people from the earth. the LORD has spoken! ⁹ And it was said in that day, Behold, this our God, we hoped for him, and he will save us: this the LORD, we hoped for him, we will rejoice and be glad in his salvation.

⁴³ Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.

³ And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am.

⁶ Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

²⁴ Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

³¹ But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.

¹⁵ You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses of the fact.

⁷ Therefore, you don't lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus the Messiah to be revealed.

⁴³ it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;

¹⁷ For our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles.

²¹ who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself, will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

¹⁷ then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

¹⁰ on the day He comes to be glorified in His saints and regarded with wonder by all who have believed, including you who have believed our testimony. ¹¹ With this in mind we pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and would with power fulfill every good purpose and work of faith: ¹² To the end that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and you in him, according to the grace of our God, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ to keep this commandment without spot, blameless until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus,

⁸ In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

¹³ Looking for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;

²⁸ so the Messiah was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. And he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly wait for him.

¹³ Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep a clear head, and set your hope completely on the grace to be given you when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed.

⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have touched, concerning the Word of life, ² the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us

²⁸ And now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.

¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep them from stumbling and to present them before His glorious presence without fault and with exultation—

⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.'

¹ Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander.

²¹ For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, ²² Greed, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, haughtiness, folly;

²⁶ For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

²⁹ They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and hatred. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,

⁶ We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

¹³ Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.

⁵ For when we lived according to the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the Law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for death.

⁷ What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet." ⁸ But sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from the Law, sin is dead.

²³ But I see another law in the members of my body, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

¹³ For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹ It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: a man has his father's wife.

¹⁰ not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, greedy, robbers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. ¹¹ But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

⁹ Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

¹³ “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food,” but God will destroy them both. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

¹⁸ Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a man can commit is outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

⁶ These things took place as examples to keep us from craving evil things as they did. ⁷ Do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written: “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and got up to revel in idolatry.” ⁸ We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.

²¹ I am afraid that when I come again, my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of their acts of impurity, sexual immorality, and debauchery.

¹⁹ The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions, ²¹ and envy; drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁴ Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

¹⁹ Having lost all sense of shame, they have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, with a craving for more.

³ But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality or impurity or greed. ⁴ Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or crude joking, which are out of character, but rather thanksgiving. ⁵ For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.

³ For it is God’s will that you should be dedicated to Him, [that is], you should avoid sexual immorality.

⁵ not in the passion of lust like the heathen, who do not know God;

¹⁶ See to it that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.

⁴ Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

¹ What causes conflicts and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from the passions at war within you?

¹¹ Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires which wage war against your soul,

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

¹⁵ Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

⁴ Against whom are you mocking? Against whom do you make a wide mouth, and stick out your tongue? Aren't you children of rebellion, offspring of liars,

⁴⁵ You are the daughter of your mother, who loathes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite. ⁴⁶ '"Now your older sister is Samaria, who lives north of you with her daughters. Your younger sister, who lives south of you, is Sodom with her daughters.

¹⁸ The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

² in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. ³ We all lived among them at one time in the cravings of our flesh, indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath.

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.

¹⁴ As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires as in your ignorance,

¹⁴ They have eyes full of adultery, that never cease from sin; they entice unstable souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!

¹⁹ I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. ²⁰ For when you were the slaves of sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

¹¹ And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

² in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience.

¹³ When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses,

³ For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

³ For you have spent enough time in the past doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry. ⁴ They think it strange that you do not run with them into the same excess of dissipation, and they speak evil of you:

¹¹ The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. ¹² They put him in custody, until the will of the LORD should be declared to them. ¹³ And the Lord said to Moses, ¹⁴ Lead the reviler outside the camp; and all that heard [him] shall lay their hands upon his head, and the whole assembly shall stone him. ¹⁵ "Inform the Israelites: 'Those who treat their God with contempt will be punished for their sin. ¹⁶ He who blasphemes the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

⁸ Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing.

¹⁴ Starting a quarrel is like spilling water so drop the dispute before it escalates.

¹⁹ A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.

²² An angry man stirs up arguments, and a hot-tempered man causes many transgressions.

²² But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell.

²² Greed, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, haughtiness, folly;

¹³ Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

³ for you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and dissension among you, are you not worldly? Are you not walking in the way of man?

²⁰ For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you what I wish you to be, and you may not find me what you wish me to be; I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.

¹⁵ But if you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out, or you will be consumed by each other.

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions,

²⁶ Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.

²² You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts;

²⁶ In your anger, do not sin! Do not let the sun set while you remain angry.

²⁹ Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.

³¹ Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. ³² Be kind and tender-hearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.

⁴ Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or crude joking, which are out of character, but rather thanksgiving.

⁹ Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices,

¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

²⁰ Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

²³ Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know that they produce quarrels. ²⁴ And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome, but he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, patient when wronged,

¹ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us.

²⁰ for man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness that God desires. ²¹ Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and every expression of evil, and humbly receive the word planted in you, which can save your souls.

⁷ Are they not the ones who blaspheme the noble Name by which you have been called?

⁴ Consider ships as well. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot is inclined. ⁵ So also the tongue is a small member and makes great boasts. Behold, how great a forest is set on fire by a little spark! ⁶ The tongue also is a fire, a world of wickedness among the parts of the body. It pollutes the whole person, sets the course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth. ¹⁵ Such wisdom does not come from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. ¹⁶ For where there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice.

¹ Therefore, ridding yourselves of all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,

⁷ and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men

¹⁸ With lofty but empty words, they appeal to the sensual passions of the flesh and entice the ones who are just escaping from those who live in error.

⁸ Yet in the same way, these dreamers defile their bodies, reject authority, and slander glorious beings.

¹³ They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.

⁹ Men were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues, and they did not repent and give him glory.

¹¹ "'Do not steal. Do not deal falsely. Do not lie to one another.

⁸ He said: They are my people, sons who will not lie to me. So he became their Savior.

³ They use their tongues like a bow. Lies rather than truth fly throughout the land. They progress from one evil to another, and they don't know me," declares the LORD. ⁴ Everyone beware of his neighbor, and do not trust any brother! For every brother will supplant his neighbor, and will walk with slanders. ⁵ Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves commiting iniquity.

¹³ The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid."

¹⁶ These are the things that ye do: Speak ye truth each with his neighbour, Truth and peaceful judgment judge in your gates,

⁴⁴ You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

²⁵ Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

⁸ But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth.

¹⁰ for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

¹² As one of their own prophets has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” ¹³ This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sternly, so that they will be sound in the faith,

²⁷ But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

²⁶ Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness. Let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground." ²⁷ And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.

¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my justice was as a robe and a turban.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

¹ Awake, awake, O Zion, put on your strength. Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.

¹⁷ He put on justice as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head: he put on the garments of vengeance, and was clad with zeal as with a cloak.

¹⁹ and I will give them another heart and put a new spirit in them; and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh

³¹ Cast away from you all your sins by which you have sinned; and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

²⁶ I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you: I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and give you a heart of flesh:

³ Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

² Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

¹² The night is nearly over; the day is at hand. So let us throw aside the deeds of darkness, and put on the armor of light.

¹⁴ But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about gratifying your physical cravings.

⁵³ For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. ⁵⁴ When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

¹⁸ And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

⁶ For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!

²⁷ For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

¹⁵ For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation.

¹⁰ For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

¹⁵ by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace

²³ And be made new in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

¹² Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

¹⁴ And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

⁶ and then have fallen away—to be restored again to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.

¹⁴ As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires as in your ignorance, ¹⁵ But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do,

³ By this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commands.

⁵ But whoever keeps his word, God's love has truly been perfected in him. This is how we know that we are in him:

⁵ Then He who was seated on the throne said, "See! I am making everything new." He continued, "Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true."

² For his mercy is great toward us; and the truth of the LORD [endureth] for ever. Praise ye the LORD

²³ In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will come to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. ²⁴ In that day Israel will be the third together with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the earth: ²⁵ the LORD Almighty has blessed, saying: Blessed is Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.

⁶ yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.

¹⁰ the LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁸ And I know their works and their imagination. I am going to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. ¹⁹ "I will set up a sign among them and send some of their survivors to the nations: to Tarshish, Put and Lud, Meshech, Rosh, Tubal, Javan, and to the distant coastlands who have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will tell about my glory among the nations. ²⁰ They will bring all your brothers from every nation like a grain offering to the LORD. They will come on horses, in chariots, in wagons, on mules and camels to my holy mountain, Jerusalem, declares the LORD. They will come like the people of Israel who bring their grain offerings in clean dishes to the LORD’s temple. ²¹ And I will also take some of them for myself as priests and Levites," says the LORD. ²² For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will remain before me, says the LORD, so will your seed and your name remain.

¹⁹ O LORD, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and will say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, even vanity and things in which there is no profit.

²³ I will plant my people in the land for myself. I will show mercy on her who has received no mercy I will say to those who are not my people, 'You are my people!' and they will say, 'You are my God.'"

¹² so that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations on whom My name is called, declares the LORD who is doing this.

² And many nations will come and say, "Come! Let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the temple of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways, and that we may walk in his paths," for the law will go out from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

¹¹ "Many nations will join themselves to the LORD in that day, and will be my people! I will dwell in the your midst, and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you."

²⁰ Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come; ²¹ and the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to supplicate the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also. ²² And many peoples and powerful nations will come to seek Yahweh of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat ⌊the favor of⌋ Yahweh.' ²³ Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'In those days ten men from all the nations of every language will take hold of the hem of a Judean man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you!" '"

¹¹ For from the east to the west, My name shall be great among the nations, and everywhere incense shall be offered to My name; and a pure food offering; for My name shall be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts.

¹⁸ “Here is My servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom My soul delights. I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will proclaim justice to the nations. ¹⁹ He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear His voice in the streets. ²⁰ A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish, till He leads justice to victory. ²¹ In His name the nations will put their hope.”

⁵⁶ Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will live because of me.

²³ Jesus replied. "If any loves me he will obey my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.

²³ I in them, and you in me; that they may become perfectly one, and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them even as you have loved me.

³⁴ Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism, ³⁵ but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. ⁴⁷ For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” ⁴⁸ When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

¹⁷ so that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who bear My name, says the Lord who does these things

¹⁷ I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them ¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

² The islanders showed us extraordinary kindness. They kindled a fire and welcomed all of us because it was raining and cold.

⁴ When the islanders saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “Surely this man is a murderer. Although he was saved from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”

¹⁴ I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish.

²⁹ Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,

¹⁰ In what context was it credited? Was it after his circumcision, or before? It was not after, but before. ¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So he is the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.

¹⁰ But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet the Spirit gives you life because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit indwelling in you.

²⁴ us whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? ²⁵ As He says in Hosea: “I will call them My people who are not My people, and I will call her My beloved who is not My beloved,” ²⁶ "And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.'"

³⁰ What then will we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; ³¹ but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it.

¹² For there is no difference between Jew and Greek: The same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on Him,

⁹ so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.” ¹⁰ Again, it says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.” ¹¹ and again, "Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and praise him, all you peoples"; ¹² And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.” ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

²⁹ that no flesh may boast before him. ³⁰ It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.

²¹ So let no one boast in men; for all things .are yours: ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Kephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future-all things are yours! ²³ And you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

¹⁹ Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commandments is what matters.

²¹ Were you a slave when you were called? Do not let it trouble youbut if you can gain your freedom, do so. ²² For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman. Conversely, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.

¹³ For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.

¹¹ If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

¹⁴ But as for me, may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. ¹⁵ For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation.

²³ which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills everything in every way.

⁶ This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

⁸ because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

⁷ But whatever was gain to me, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸ More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ ⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christthe righteousness that comes from God and is by faith,

¹⁰ And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

⁹ Anyone who runs ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

¹ "Look my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom my soul delights. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice to the nations.

⁴ "For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen one, I have called you by name. I have given you a title of honor, although you do not know me.

¹⁵ Look from heaven, and see from the lofty residence of your holiness and glory. Where are your zeal and strength? Your compassion and mercy to me hold themselves back.

⁹ I will bring forth offspring from Jacob, and from Judah those who will possess my mountains. My chosen people will inherit them and my servants will live there.

²² "No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people. My chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands.

³ the LORD appeared to him from afar, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

²⁰ "Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? Indeed, as often as I've spoken about him, I surely still remember him. Therefore I deeply yearn for him. I'll surely have great compassion on him," declares the LORD.

⁸ And I passed by you, and I looked on you, and, behold, your time was the time of love. And I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness. And I swore to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign LORD. And you became Mine.

²² If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened.

²⁴ For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible.

³¹ And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

²⁰ If the Lord had not shortened those days, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom He has chosen, He has shortened them.

²² For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible.

²⁷ He will send out his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven."

⁷⁸ because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the Dawn will visit us from on high,

⁷ And will not God bring about justice for his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?

⁷ To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ And those He predestined He also called, those He called He also justified, those He justified He also glorified. ³¹ What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? ³³ Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

¹¹ Yet before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad, in order that God’s plan of election might stand,

⁵ So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. ⁶ And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace. ⁷ What then? What Israel was seeking, it failed to obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,

⁹ Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. ¹⁰ Be devoted to one another with brotherly love; honour one another more than yourselves;

⁶ in purity, knowledge, patience, and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

⁴ For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love

⁴ But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, ⁵ made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!

² with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

²⁴ and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

³² Be kind and tender-hearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.

⁸ God is my witness how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

¹ Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, ² make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. ³ Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. ⁴ Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

¹⁰ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

³ and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁴ For we know, brothers so beloved by God, that He has chosen you, ⁵ because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction—just as you know we lived among you for your sake. ⁶ You became imitators of us and of the Lord. In spite of a great deal of suffering, you welcomed the word with the joy that the Holy Spirit produces.

¹⁵ Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Instead, always pursue what is good for each other and for everyone else.

¹³ But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord; because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ He called you to this through our gospel, that you may share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the eternal times.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹ Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth which leads to godliness,

⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. ¹⁸ Peacemakers who sow in peace reap the fruit of righteousness.

² who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling with his blood: may grace and peace be yours in abundance.

⁸ Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble in spirit. ⁹ Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. ¹⁰ For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. ¹¹ He must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.

⁵ For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; ⁶ and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; ⁷ and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. ⁸ For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall;

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. ¹⁵ Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. ¹⁷ If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ —yes, by this we know that we are of the Truth and may put our hearts at ease in His presence, ²⁰ whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

¹⁹ We love, because he first loved us.

¹³ The children of your eminent sister send you their greetings.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb and the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those called and chosen and faithful with him.

⁴⁴ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

¹² And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors;

¹⁴ For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ »If you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.

¹⁵ "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. ¹⁶ But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ ¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

²¹ Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?” ²² Jesus answered, “I tell you, not just seven times, but seventy-seven times! ²³ Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a king, who was minded to settle accounts with his servants. ²⁴ And as he began to settle up, one debtor of ten thousand talents was brought to him. ²⁵ And as he was not able to pay, his master ordered that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. ²⁶ Then the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Have patience with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ ²⁷ His master had compassion on him, forgave his debt, and released him. ²⁸ But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe me.’ ²⁹ So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you back.' ³⁰ But he refused. Instead, he went and had him thrown into prison until he could pay his debt. ³¹ When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and went and told their master all that had happened. ³² Then his master called for him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I canceled all of your debt because you begged me to. ³³ Should you not have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had on you?’ ³⁴ In his anger, his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should repay all that he owed. ³⁵ That is how My Heavenly Father will treat each of you, unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”

²⁵ And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive it, so that your Father in Heaven may also forgive your sins.

²⁰ When Jesus saw their faith, He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” ²¹ But the scribes and the Pharisees began to argue, saying, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" ²² Jesus saw that they were arguing, and answered them: "Why are you arguing so in your hearts? ²³ Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? ²⁴ But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on the earth to forgive sins...” He said to the paralytic, “I tell you, get up, pick up your mat, and go home.”

³⁵ But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. ³⁶ Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. ³⁷ Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” ⁴⁹ The other guests began to say to themselves, "Who is this that even forgives sins?" ⁵⁰ Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

⁴ And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

³ "Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. ⁴ And if he should offend you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn to you and say, I repent; forgive him.

³⁴ And Jesus said: Father, forgive them. For they do not know what they do. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

¹ We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. ² Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

⁷ Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God.

⁷ The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you are thoroughly defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? ⁸ Instead, you yourselves defraud and do wrong, and you even do this to your brethren.

¹⁰ If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And if I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven it in the presence of Christ for your sake,

² Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ.

² and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

¹³ For judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

²¹ For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,

³⁴ A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another.

¹² This is my command, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

⁸ Be in debt to no man — apart from the debt of love one to another. He who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law.

¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ If I give all I have to the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. ⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not rejoice with evil, but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ endures all, trusts all, hopes all, abides all: ⁸ Love never fails; but where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ But when perfection comes, what is imperfect will pass away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. ¹² Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. ¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.

³ Make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the tie of peace.

² that they may be encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ,

⁹ Now about brotherly love, you do not need anyone to write to you, because you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.

⁵ Now the goal of that command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith;

¹ Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith in God,

⁸ Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

⁷ and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

²³ And this is his commandment: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus the Messiah, and to love one another as he commanded us.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. ⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Dear friends, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

²¹ Indeed, we have this Command from God-- 'He who loves God must also love his Brother.'

¹¹ May the LORD give strength to his people. May the LORD bless his people with peace.

⁴ Enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name.

²² Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and talk about his works with shouts of joy.

¹⁷ I will bring you a thanksgiving offering and call on the name of the LORD!

³ You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you.

⁵ "Let them come to me for refuge. Let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty one who resides forever, and whose name is holy: "I reside in a high and holy place, and with the contrite and humble of spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

¹⁹ creating fruit of lips. Peace, peace to the far and near," says the LORD, "and I will heal him.

⁹ But as for me, with a voice of thanksgiving I will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Deliverance is the LORD's!"

¹⁶ He fell on his face at Jesus feet and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ Jesus said, Were not ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? ¹⁸ Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"

²⁷ Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.

³³ I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!”

²¹ Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but their thinking became nonsense, and their foolish heart was darkened.

¹ Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁵ But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace.

¹⁵ For all this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ So then, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God! ²¹ God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

¹¹ You will be enriched in everything, so you can be generous, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

¹² that at that time you were apart from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, ¹⁵ by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which he put to death their enmity. ¹⁷ He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. ¹⁸ For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

⁴ There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

¹⁶ From Him the whole body is fitted and held together by every supporting ligament. And as each individual part does its work, the body grows and builds itself up in love.

¹ Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children,

²⁰ always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.

⁷ rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

¹⁷ And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

¹ I urge therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men;

¹⁵ Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.

¹² saying, "Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!"

⁶ These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; ⁷ Repeat them to your sons, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you arise. ⁸ Tie them as reminders on your forearm, bind them on your forehead, ⁹ and write them on the door frames of your house and on your gates."

¹⁸ Lay up these words in your hearts and minds, and hang them for a sign on your hands, and place them between your eyes. ¹⁹ Teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you arise. ²⁰ "Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

⁹ So give your servant an understanding mind to govern your people, so I can discern between good and evil. Otherwise, how shall I be able to govern this great people of yours?" ¹⁰ The LORD was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, ¹¹ And God said to him, Because your request is for this thing, and not for long life for yourself or for wealth or for the destruction of your haters, but for wisdom to be a judge of causes; ¹² "I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had. There has never been nor will ever be anyone like you.

²⁸ And when all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had given, they feared the king; for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to exercise justice.

⁷ They and their relatives who had been skillfully trained in singing to the LORD, numbered 288.

⁴⁶ For of old, in the days of David and Asaph, there were the chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgivings to God.

¹² "I have not departed from the command of his lips. I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

⁷ The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I received help. My heart exalts, and I give thanks to him with my song.

⁴ Thus will I bless thee while I live: and in thy name I will lift up my hands. ⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise. ⁶ when I remember you on my bed I meditate on you in the watches:

²³ My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you, whose life you have redeemed.

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

¹ Let me sing to my loved one a song of my beloved concerning his vineyard: My loved one had a vineyard on a fertile hill.

² to keep back the poor from judgment, and to steal justice from the poor of My people; that widows may be their prey; that they may rob orphans.

¹ In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah: "We have a strong city. He appoints salvation for walls and ramparts.

²⁹ You will have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept and gladness of heart, as he who goes with a pipe to come to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel.

¹⁶ But to me your word is a joy, making my heart glad; for I am named by your name, O Lord God of armies.

³⁰ When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

⁵¹ Then He went down to Nazareth with them and was subject to them. But His mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

³⁹ You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me, ⁴⁰ yet you refuse to come to Me to have life.

⁷ If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

¹⁷ Consequently, faith comes of hearing; and hearing, through the word of Christ.

¹⁴ I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, brimming with knowledge, and able to instruct one another.

¹⁵ What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.

²⁶ What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.

¹⁷ and asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him.

¹⁷ Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

¹⁹ Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord,

⁹ For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

²⁸ We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

⁶ Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

¹⁸ Therefore encourage each other with these words.

¹¹ Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as indeed you are doing. ¹² Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and rule over you in the Lord and admonish you,

¹⁵ Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

¹⁷ Charge the rich of this world not to be arrogant, nor to set their hopes on such an uncertain thing as riches, but on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

¹⁵ From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

⁶ whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

¹² For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. ¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

¹² Therefore strengthen your limp hands and weak knees. ¹³ Make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame will not be debilitated, but rather healed. ¹⁴ Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. ¹⁵ See that no one misses the grace of God; that no bitter root spring up to cause trouble and defile many.

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere.

¹³ Is anyone of you in trouble? let him pray. Is anyone thriving? let him sing praise.

¹¹ trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. ¹² It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

¹⁴ I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

²⁴ As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father.

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him.

² because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

³ They were singing a new song in front of the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

³ and they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the ages!

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

²⁰ This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah. He did what was good and right and true to the LORD his God. ²¹ And in every work which he undertook in the service of the house of the Lord, and in the law and in the statutes, he sought his God with his whole heart, and did it and prospered.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

⁵ Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods; but we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

³⁰ as You stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

¹⁷ This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, and fear came over all of them. So the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

⁶ He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. ⁷ For none of us lives to himself alone, and none of us dies to himself alone. ⁸ If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

³¹ So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.

¹¹ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

¹¹ and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

²³ Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as work for the Lord and not for men,

¹ Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you.

¹ Now then, brothers, you learned from us how you ought to live and to please God, as in fact you are doing. We ask and encourage you in the Lord to do so even more. ² For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and work.

⁵ For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?

⁵ you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God; that you should declare the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

¹¹ If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

²³ No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and in truth.

¹⁶ He said to the woman: "I will greatly increase your pains in childbirth; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

²⁰ "When the king's order is made public through all his great kingdom all the wives will give honor to their husbands, great as well as small."

²⁹ Peter and the other Apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than man.

³ But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

³⁴ women are to be silent in the churches. They are not permitted to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.

³ But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality or impurity or greed.

²² Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.

¹² I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

⁴ so they can train the young women to love their husbands and children, ⁵ to be chaste and holy, and to take good care of their households, and to be obedient to their husbands; so that no one may reproach the word of God.

¹ You wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without a word by the behavior of their wives, ² when they see how pure and reverent you are. ³ Your beauty should not come from outward adornment such as braided hair or gold jewelry or fine clothes, ⁴ but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight. ⁵ For so of old the holy women who hoped in God adorned themselves. They were submissive to their own husbands, ⁶ Thus Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: and you are her daughters, if you do right, and do not give way to fear.

²³ The man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh! She will be called 'woman', because she was taken out of Man. ²⁴ This is the reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife. They will become one flesh.

⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah. And he took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother.

¹⁸ May your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth. ¹⁹ A loving doe and a graceful deer-- let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love.

⁹ See life with a wife whom you love all the days of your vain life, Which He gives to you under the sun--all your vain days, For this is your portion in life And in your toil that you are toiling under the sun."

¹⁴ Yet you ask, 'For what reason?' Because the LORD acts as a witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you broke faith with her, your partner, the wife of your covenant. ¹⁵ Did he not make them one? And the vestige of the spirit remains in him. And why did he make them one? He was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and don't break faith with the wife of your youth. ¹⁶ "For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and he who covers his clothing with violence," says the LORD of hosts. "You must be attentive to your spirit and you must not be unfaithful."

²⁶ “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple.

¹⁴ Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.

³¹ Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

²⁸ In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹ Indeed, no one ever hated his own body, but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church.

³³ Nevertheless, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

²¹ Fathers, do not provoke your children, or they will become discouraged.

¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth.

⁷ Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with honor as the weaker partner, since you are joint heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

⁷ and [that] Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-Aram.

¹² "Honor your father and your mother, so that your days can be long on the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

³ Each of you must revere your mother and your father, and you must keep my Sabbaths; I am the LORD your God.

¹⁸ "If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not listen or obey his father or his mother when they chastise him, ¹⁹ then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place. ²⁰ "They shall say to the elders of his city: This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious! He will not obey us! He is a glutton and a drunkard. ²¹ All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.

¹⁶ Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen!

²⁰ My son, keep your father's commandment, and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

²⁰ He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in obscure darkness.

¹¹ There is a generation that curse their father, and do not bless their mother.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks his father, and rejects obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley pick it out, and the young eagles eat it.

⁷ In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

⁶ "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? says the LORD of hosts to you, priests, who despise my name. You say, 'How have we despised your name?'

⁴ For God said: ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’ ⁵ But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might have received from me is a gift to God' ⁶ he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

¹⁹ honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’”

²⁴ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ² "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: ³ “that it may go well with you and that you may be long-lived on the earth.”

¹⁸ I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

¹⁰ so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

²² Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart and fear of the Lord.

⁹ Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not to talk back to them,

²¹ equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹³ Like a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

¹² because the LORD corrects the person he loves, just as a father corrects the son he delights in.

¹ Listen, sons, to a father's instruction. Pay attention and know understanding; ² for I give you sound learning. Do not forsake my law. ³ For I was a son unto my father, a tender and an only child before my mother. ⁴ Father taught me. He said: »Remember my words in your heart. Obey my commandments and live.

⁴ Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

¹¹ For you know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children.

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. ⁶ For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he punishes every son he accepts." ⁷ Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? ⁸ If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have all had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them. Should we not much more submit to the Father of our spirits and live? ¹⁰ Our fathers disciplined us for a short time as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in His holiness. ¹¹ No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a peaceful harvest of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

¹⁸ On the third day Joseph said to them, "Do this and you will live; I fear God.

⁹ So I said, "What you're doing isn't right! Shouldn't you live in the fear of our God to avoid shame from our foreign enemies?

¹⁵ But the former governors that were before me laid burdens upon the people, and took of them for bread and wine above forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants lorded over the people; but so did not I, because of the fear of God.

² Look, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to the LORD, our God, until he has mercy on us.

⁷ For in many dreams and vanities, there are many words; Therefore fear the One, Elohim."

¹² Though a sinner commits crimes a hundred times, and lives long, yet surely I know that it will be better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.

¹³ Now that all has been heard, here is the final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

²² The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.

⁹ For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

⁴⁶ "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

⁸ For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes; and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”

⁴⁶ And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

¹ Since we have these promises, dear friends, let's cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit by becoming mature in our holy fear of God.

¹⁰ Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

⁵ Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear and sincerity of heart, just as you would show to Christ. ⁶ And do this not only to please them while they are watching, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. ⁷ Serve willingly, as if you were serving the Lord and not merely people,

²⁰ Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

⁴ Instead, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, not in order to please men but God, who examines our hearts.

¹ As many as are under the yoke of slavery should consider their own owners to be worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and doctrine not be slandered. ² Moreover, those who have believing masters should be respectful to them, because they are fellow believers. In fact, they must serve them even better, because those who benefit from their service are believers and dear to them. These are the things you must teach and exhort.

⁹ Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not to talk back to them, ¹⁰ and not to steal, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in everything they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

¹⁶ no longer as a slave but better than a slave as a dear brother, especially to me, but even more so to you, both as a person and as a believer.

¹⁸ Servants, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but even to those who are unreasonable. ¹⁹ For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

²¹ And in every work which he undertook in the service of the house of the Lord, and in the law and in the statutes, he sought his God with his whole heart, and did it and prospered.

¹ {Of David} Praise the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me praise his holy name.

¹⁰ I have sought you with all of my heart; do not let me drift away from your commands.

³⁴ Make me understand, and I will preserve Your law And keep it with all my heart."

¹⁴⁵ I cried with all my heart. Answer me, O LORD! I will observe your statutes.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do—do it with all your might; for in Sheol—where you are going—no one works, plans, knows, or thinks about anything.

¹⁰ Yet even in all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to me with all her heart, but only in pretense," declares the LORD.

⁵ "Say to all the people of the land and to the priests: 'When you fasted and lamented in the fifth and seventh months for these seventy years, did you really fast for me? ⁶ And when you are feasting and drinking, are you not doing it only for yourselves? ⁷ Are not these the words that the LORD proclaimed through the former prophets, when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were inhabited and at ease, and the Negev and the Shephelah were inhabited?'"

¹⁶ When you fast, do not be somber like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward.

²² Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth, so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.

¹³ Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to the king as the supreme authority,

¹⁵ For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorance of foolish men.

¹ After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."

¹² May the LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

¹⁸ A wicked man earns deceitful wages, but he who sows righteousness [has] a sure reward.

¹² Rejoice and celebrate, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.

⁴⁶ If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?

¹ Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. ² So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be praised by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward.

⁵ And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward.

⁴¹ Every one who receives a prophet, because he is a prophet, will receive a prophet's reward, and every one who receives a righteous man, because he is a righteous man, will receive a righteous man's reward.

³⁵ But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

¹⁴ and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you—you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

³² And now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified.

¹ Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,

⁶ For he will render to everyone according to what he has done, ⁷ To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.

⁴ Now the wages of the worker are not credited as a gift, but as an obligation. ⁵ However, to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness,

¹⁸ For whoever serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

⁸ He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.

²² For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman. Conversely, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.

¹⁷ For if I transact this voluntarily, I have a reward: but if involuntarily, an administration is entrusted to me. ¹⁸ What then is my reward? That in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not use up my rights in preaching it.

⁶ And do this not only to please them while they are watching, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

¹⁸ Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you with speculation about what he has seen. Such a man is puffed up without basis by his unspiritual mind,

¹⁵ For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

³⁵ So do not throw away your confidence; it holds a great reward.

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please God, for anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:

¹ Judas, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James, to those who have been called, who are beloved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ:

¹⁵ "'Do no injustice in judgment. Do not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great. Judge your neighbor fairly.

¹⁷ "You will not show partiality in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great. You will not fear man for the judgment is God's. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.'

¹⁷ For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, mighty, and awesome, who regards not persons, nor takes reward:

¹⁴ For we must die and are as water split on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; God does not take away life, but devises means that he who is banished is not an outcast from him.

⁷ So let the fear of the LORD rest upon you, be on your guard, and act carefully, because with the LORD our God there is neither injustice, nor partiality, nor bribery."

¹⁹ who does not respect the persons of rulers, nor regards the rich more than the poor. For they all are the work of his hands.

²⁴ Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”

²¹ So they questioned Him, saying: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and you do not show favoritism but teach the way of God in truth.

³⁴ Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism,

¹¹ For God does not show favoritism.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his due for the things done in the body, whether good or bad.

⁹ And masters, do the same for your slaves. Give up your use of threats, because you know that He who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.

¹ Masters, supply your slaves with what is right and fair, since you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

⁶ that no one trespass and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such behavior, as, indeed, we have already told you and warned you.

¹⁸ If he has caused you any loss, or owes you anything, charge it to me.

² For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,

¹⁷ Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives in reverent fear during your temporary stay on earth.

¹⁶ These men are grumblers and complainers, living according to their own evil desires; they talk big, flattering people to gain advantage.
