¹⁴ Then Joseph sent for his father Jacob, and for all his family, seventy-five in all.

⁹ Hurry, and go up to my father, and tell him, 'This is what your son Joseph says, God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me. Don't wait. ¹⁰ You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you, your children, your children's children, your flocks, your herds, and all that you have. ¹¹ And I will provide for you there, because there are still five years of famine—lest you and your household and all that you have become destitute.'

¹² The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

²⁶ All the souls who came with Jacob into Egypt, who were his direct descendants, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were sixty-six. ²⁷ And the sons of Joseph which were born to him in Egypt, two souls: to the house of Jacob coming to Egypt, seventy.

⁵ All those who descended from Jacob totaled 75 persons. Now Joseph was already in Egypt.

²² Your ancestors went down to Egypt with seventy people, but the LORD your God has now made you as numerous as the stars in the sky."
