¹ When the king lived in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies all around, ² the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I live in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains. ³ Nathan replied to the king, "Go do everything you have in mind, because the LORD is with you." ⁴ And that night the Word of the LORD came to Nathan saying, ⁵ "Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says the LORD: "Are you the one to build for me a house for my dwelling? ⁶ For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought up the Israelites from Egypt until this day; rather, I was going about in a tent and in a tabernacle. ⁷ Wherever I moved among the Israelites, did I ever ask even one tribal leader of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, 'Why haven't you built me a cedar temple?' ⁸ "Say this to my servant David: 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture where you followed sheep so that you could be the leader of my people Israel. ⁹ I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth. ¹⁰ And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant it and they shall continue in one place and shall move no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as they did at the beginning, ¹¹ In the manner that I appointed judges over my people Israel, I will give you rest from all your enemies. And the LORD declares to you that the LORD will build a house for you. ¹² When your days are full and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you who will go out from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ It is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. ¹⁴ "'I will be his father. He will be my son. When he does wrong I will correct him just as parents correct children. ¹⁵ But my mercy I will not take away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before my face. ¹⁶ Your house and your kingdom shall endure forever before you; your throne shall be established forever." '" ¹⁷ Nathan spoke to David all these words, and according to all this vision. ¹⁸ Then King David went in and sat before the LORD. And he said, Who am I, O Sovereign LORD? And what is my house, that You have brought me here? ¹⁹ And yet this [is] little in Your eyes, Sovereign LORD, and You do speak also concerning the house of Your servant afar off; and this [is] the law of the Man, Sovereign LORD. ²⁰ What more can David say to You? For You know Your servant, Sovereign LORD. ²¹ "For the sake of your Word and according to your will you have done this great thing. You have made it known to your servant! ²² Therefore you are great, my Sovereign LORD, for there is no one like you, and there is no god except you, in all that we have heard with our ears. ²³ "And who is like your people, like Israel, the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, to make a name for himself, and to carry out for them great and awe-inspiring accomplishments, driving out nations and their gods in front of your people, whom you redeemed to yourself from Egypt? ²⁴ You have established your people Israel for yourself as a people forever, and you, O LORD, have become their God. ²⁵ And now, O Lord God, raise up for ever the word that thou hast spoken, concerning thy servant and concerning his house: and do as thou hast spoken, ²⁶ Your name shall be great forever, and they will say, 'the LORD Almighty is God over Israel'; and the house of your servant David shall be established before you. ²⁷ For You, O LORD Almighty, God of Israel, have revealed to Your servant, saying, I will build you a house. Therefore Your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to You. ²⁸ Now, O Sovereign LORD, You are God, and Your words are truth, and You have promised this good thing to Your servant. ²⁹ Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue everlasting before you, for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken it. And with your blessing let the house of your servant be blessed forever.

⁴⁴ the LORD gave them rest on every side, according to all that he had sworn to their ancestors, and nobody from all their enemies withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hand.

¹ Now after many years, when the Lord had given Israel rest from all their enemies round about, Joshua being far advanced in years,

⁴ But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side: there is neither adversary nor evil event.

¹ David settled in his palace. He said to Nathan the prophet: "Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD is under a tent." ² Nathan replied to David: "Do what you have in mind, for God is with you." ³ That same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying, ⁴ "Go tell my servant David, This is what the LORD says: 'You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in. ⁵ "I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt to this day. I have moved from one tent site to another, from one dwelling place to another. ⁶ "In all the places where I have moved with the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people: Why have you not built me a house of cedar?" ⁷ Therefore, tell my servant David: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I took you from the pasture and from following the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel. ⁸ "'I have been with you wherever you have gone. I have destroyed all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men of the earth. ⁹ »‘I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning. ¹⁰ "'They have done this since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies. I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you! ¹¹ "'When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you. It will be one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹² "'He is the one who will build a house for me. I will establish his throne forever. ¹³ "'I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. ¹⁴ "'I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever! His throne will be established forever.'" ¹⁵ Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation. ¹⁶ Then King David went and sat before the LORD and said, "Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house that you have brought me thus far? ¹⁷ "If this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men, O LORD my God. ¹⁸ "What more can David say to you for honoring your servant? For you know your servant ¹⁹ "the LORD. For the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made known all these great promises. ²⁰ "There is no one like you the LORD and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. ²¹ And who is like your people Israel, the one nation upon earth whom God went to redeem for himself, to establish for you a reputation for great and awesome things, to drive out nations from before your people whom you redeemed from Egypt? ²² "You made your people Israel your very own for a very long time, and you, O LORD, have become their God. ²³ "Now, the LORD, let the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house be established from generation to generation. Do as you promised! ²⁴ "It will be established and your name will be great forever. Then men will say: "the LORD Almighty, the God over Israel, is Israel's God! And the house of your servant David will be established before you. ²⁵ "You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. ²⁶ "O LORD, YOU ARE GOD! You have promised these good things to your servant. ²⁷ Now it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, LORD, have blessed, and it is blessed forever."

⁶ He built fortified cities in Judah and the land had peace. There was no war during those years because the LORD gave him a time of peace.

¹ For the music director. Of David, the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said: "I love you, O LORD, my strength."

⁷ When a man's ways please the LORD He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

²⁹ About a year later, as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, ³⁰ The king spoke: "Is this not great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling-place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?"

⁷⁴ to be redeemed from the hand of our enemies; and that we should worship before him, without fear, ⁷⁵ in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

¹ "Construct the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet material. Make them with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman. ² Every curtain is to be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide, all of the same measure. ³ And five curtains shall be joined, each to its sister-piece. ⁴ And you will make loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain, at the end in the set; and you will do so on the edge of the end curtain in the second set. ⁵ Fifty twists on one curtain and fifty on the other, the twists to be opposite one another. ⁶ »Make fifty gold fasteners. Use them to link the two sets of curtains together so that the tent is a single unit. ⁷ And work curtains of goats for a tent on the tabernacle; work eleven curtains: ⁸ "Each of the eleven curtains will be forty-five feet long and six feet wide. ⁹ »Sew five of the curtains together into one set. Sew the remaining six into another set. Fold the sixth curtains in half to hang in front of the tent. ¹⁰ You shall make 50 loops along the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and 50 loops along the edge of the curtain of the other set. ¹¹ Then make fifty brass hooks and put the hooks into the twists, joining the tent together to make it one. ¹² As for the excess that remains of the curtains of the tent the half curtain that remains shall hang over the back of the tabernacle. ¹³ The nine inches that remain on either end of the length of the curtains of the tent shall hang over each side of the tabernacle to cover it. ¹⁴ And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams skins dyed red, and a covering of sealskins above.

²¹ and he brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the veil of the curtain and covered the ark of the testimony, as the LORD commanded Moses.

¹¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar wood, and carpenters, and stone masons; and they built a house for David.

¹⁷ They brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

¹⁷ Nathan spoke to David all these words, and according to all this vision.

¹ the LORD sent Nathan to David. Nathan came to him and said: "There were two men in a certain city. One was rich and the other was poor.

¹ Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David. He also sent cedar logs, stonemasons and carpenters to build a palace for him.

¹ And they brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it. And they offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before God.

²⁹ Now, the acts of David the king, first and last, behold them! written in the records of Samuel the seer, and in the records of Nathan the prophet, and in the records of Gad the seer:

⁴ But David had brought the ark of God up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

⁵ until I find out a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."

¹³ Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness and his upper rooms without justice; his neighbor serves without pay, and he does not give him for his work; ¹⁴ who says, I will build myself a wide house and large upper rooms. And he cuts out windows for it and covers with cedar, and paints with vermilion. ¹⁵ Do you become a king because you are competing in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

⁴ "Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies waste?

¹⁷ His disciples remembered that it is written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."

⁴⁶ who found favor in God's sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

⁷ When these signs come to you, do for yourself what your hand finds to do, for God will be with you.

⁷ But the LORD said to Samuel, Don't look at his appearance or height, because I have rejected him. I do not look at the things man looks at; man looks at the outward appearance but the LORD looks at the heart.

¹⁷ "My father David wanted to build a temple for the name of the LORD God of Israel. ¹⁸ And the LORD said to my father David, Because it was in your heart to build a house to My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

²⁷ So she came to the man of God at the mountain, and she caught hold of his feet. Then Gehazi came near to push her away, but the man of God said, "Let her alone, for her soul is bitter, and the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me."

⁷ David said to Solomon: "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God.

² And King David rose to his feet and said, "Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I myself wanted to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the footstool of our God, and I prepared to build.

⁴ He will give you according to your heart, and fulfill all your plans.

⁴ Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him.

⁶ He said: "Listen to my words: 'When there are prophets of the LORD among you, I make myself known to them in visions or speak to them in dreams.

³ That same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

⁷ "The Sovereign LORD will do nothing without revealing his secrets to his servants the prophets.

³ "Thou knowest of David my father, how he could not build a house unto the name of the LORD his God for war which he had on every side, until the LORD had put them under his foot. ⁴ But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side: there is neither adversary nor evil event.

¹⁶ 'From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city among any of the tribes of Israel, to build a house, that my name might be there: But I have chosen David to be ruler over my people Israel.' ¹⁷ "My father David wanted to build a temple for the name of the LORD God of Israel. ¹⁸ And the LORD said to my father David, Because it was in your heart to build a house to My name, you did well that it was in your heart. ¹⁹ Nevertheless, you are not to build the temple, but your son who will be born to you shall build a temple for my name.'

⁴ "Go tell my servant David, This is what the LORD says: 'You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

⁷ David said to Solomon: "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God. ⁸ "The word of the LORD came to me, saying: 'You have shed much blood and have fought many wars. You are not to build a house for my name. This is because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.

³ The Levites thirty years old or older were counted, and the total number of men was thirty-eight thousand. ⁴ David said: Of these, twenty-four thousand are to supervise the work of the LORD’s Temple and six thousand are to be officials and judges. ⁵ Four thousand are to be gatekeepers and four thousand are to praise the LORD with musical instruments I have provided for that purpose. ⁶ David divided the Levites into groups corresponding to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. ⁷ Belonging to the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei. ⁸ The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the first, Zetham and Joel, three in all. ⁹ The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel and Haran, three in all. These were the heads of the families of Ladan. ¹⁰ The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, Jeush and Beriah. These were the sons of Shimei, four in all. ¹¹ Jahath was the first and Ziza the second, but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons so they were counted as one family with one assignment. ¹² The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel, four in all. ¹³ The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart, he and his descendants from generation to generation, to consecrate the most holy things, to offer sacrifices before the LORD, to minister before him and to pronounce blessings in his name as long as they live. ¹⁴ The sons of Moses the man of God were counted as part of the tribe of Levi. ¹⁵ The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer. ¹⁶ The descendants of Gershom: Shubael was the first. ¹⁷ The descendants of Eliezer: Rehabiah was the first. Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very numerous. ¹⁸ The sons of Izhar: Shelomith was the first. ¹⁹ The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth. ²⁰ The sons of Uzziel: Micah the first and Isshiah the second. ²¹ The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish. ²² Eleazar died without having sons: he had only daughters. Their cousins, the sons of Kish, married them. ²³ The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jerimoth, three in all. ²⁴ These were the descendants of Levi by their families, the heads of families as they were registered under their names and counted individually, that is, the workers twenty years old or more who served in the Temple of the LORD. ²⁵ For David had said: "Since the LORD, the God of Israel, has granted rest to his people and has come to dwell in Jerusalem from generation to generation, ²⁶ the Levites no longer need to carry the Tabernacle or any of the articles used in its service." ²⁷ According to the last instructions of David, the Levites were counted from those twenty years old or more. ²⁸ The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron's descendants in the service of the Temple of the LORD: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the House of God. ²⁹ They were in charge of the bread set out on the table, the flour for the grain offerings, the unleavened wafers, the baking and the mixing, and all measurements of quantity and size. ³⁰ They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD. They were to do the same in the evening ³¹ and whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on Sabbaths and at New Moon festivals and at appointed feasts. They were to serve before the LORD regularly in the proper number and in the way prescribed for them. ³² So the Levites carried out their responsibilities for the Tent of Meeting, for the Holy Place and, under their brothers the descendants of Aaron, for the service of the Temple of the LORD.

¹⁴ He said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." ¹⁵ Then Moses said to the LORD, "If your presence does not go with us, don't bring us up from here.

¹⁸ When Moses set up the tent, he put the sockets in place, put up the frames, inserted the crossbars, and set up the posts. ¹⁹ And he spread out the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent over it; as the LORD commanded Moses.

³⁴ Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ³⁶ In all their travels, when the column of smoke moved from the tent, the Israelites would break camp. ³⁷ But if the cloud was not lifted, they did not set out until the day of its being lifted. ³⁸ For the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and the fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel in all their journeys.

²³ And if over these things you should not be corrected, but should go to me sideways, ²⁴ I also will walk contrary to you, and will strike you seven times for your sins.

²⁷ "'If in spite of this you do not listen to me and still resist me, ²⁸ then I will go against you in hostile anger, and also I myself will discipline you seven times for your sins.

³³ And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days' journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days' journey, to seek a resting-place for them. ³⁴ and the cloud of the LORD was over them by day when they set out from the camp. ³⁵ When the ark went forward, Moses said, “Rise up, the LORD, and let your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate you flee before you!” ³⁶ And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, to the many thousands of Israel.

¹⁴ For the LORD your God is on the move within your camp to deliver you and to hand your enemies over to you. Therefore your camp must be holy so that he will not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you."

¹ After this, the entire assembly of the Israelites gathered together at Shiloh and set up a Tent of Meeting there, where the land lay conquered before them.

¹⁶ 'From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city among any of the tribes of Israel, to build a house, that my name might be there: But I have chosen David to be ruler over my people Israel.'

⁵ "I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt to this day. I have moved from one tent site to another, from one dwelling place to another. ⁶ "In all the places where I have moved with the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people: Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"

⁴⁴ Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony with them in the wilderness. It was constructed exactly as God had directed Moses, according to the pattern he had seen.

¹⁶ What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”

¹ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of Him who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

¹¹ I will make my dwelling place among you, and my soul shall not loathe you. ¹² I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.

² In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. the LORD said to you, 'You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.'”

⁶ "In all the places where I have moved with the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people: Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"

⁷¹ From following the suckling-ewes, he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. ⁷² David shepherded them with a devoted heart, and led them with skillful hands.

¹¹ He tends his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those that have young.

¹⁵ And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

⁴ I will set up shepherds over them, who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.

² Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to them, to the shepherds, So says the Sovereign LORD: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who are feeding themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock?

¹⁵ I will feed My sheep, and I will make them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD.

²³ "'I will place one shepherd over them, my servant David. He will take care of them. He will take care of them and be their shepherd.

⁴ And he will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live, for now he will be great unto the ends of the earth.

⁶ 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.'"

¹⁵ When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." ¹⁶ A second time he said, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me? He answered, Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. Jesus replied, Tend my sheep. ¹⁷ He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he asked him a third time: Do you love me? And he said to him: Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep.

²⁸ Keep watch over yourselves and the entire flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.

²⁸ crying, Men of Israel, help; this is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place, and besides he has brought Greeks into the temple, and defiled this holy place.

¹ The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellowelder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a sharer in the glory that is to be revealed;

¹⁶ About the time to-morrow I will send to thee a man from the land of Benjamin, and anoint him for leader over my people Israel; he shall save my people from the hand of Philisteim; for I saw my people, for their cry came to me.

¹ Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it over his head and kissed him and said, "Has not the LORD anointed you as leader over his inheritance?

¹¹ "Are these all the sons you have?" Samuel asked. "There is still the youngest one," Jesse answered. "He is tending sheep." Samuel responded: "Send someone to get him. We will not continue until he gets here." ¹² He sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with a beautiful face and handsome appearance. the LORD said, Arise, anoint him, for this is the one.

²¹ And David said to Michal, It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than thy father, and than all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel; and I played before the LORD.

⁷ Nathan said to David, "You are the man. This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.

⁷ Therefore, tell my servant David: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I took you from the pasture and from following the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.

⁷⁰ He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds; ⁷¹ From following the suckling-ewes, he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

² "I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. You will be a blessing.

⁸ he raises the poor from the dust; and lifts the needy from the dunghill - to set them among volunteers - to inherit the throne of honor: for the pillars of the earth are unto Yah Veh and on them he set the world.

¹⁴ And David had great success in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.

⁶ So Saul died, and his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men together that same day.

¹⁰ David continued to grow more powerful because the LORD God of Hosts was with him.

⁶ Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

¹⁴ He erected garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became subservient to David, while the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

¹ Then David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

³⁰ For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.

³⁴ He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me upon the high places. ³⁵ He trains my hands for the war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. ³⁶ And You give to me the shield of Your salvation, And Your lowliness makes me great. ³⁷ you enlarge my paces under me so that my ankles waver not. ³⁸ I pursued my enemies and conquered them; I didn't return until they were consumed.

⁸ "'I have been with you wherever you have gone. I have destroyed all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men of the earth.

³⁷ I chased my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back until they were finished off. ³⁸ I crushed them, and they were not able to rise: they fell under my feet. ³⁹ You armed me with strength for battle. You made my opponents bow at my feet. ⁴⁰ You made my enemies turn their backs to me. I destroyed those who hated me. ⁴¹ They cried, but there was none to save; even to the LORD, but he did not answer them. ⁴² And I ground them like dust in the wind, I emptied them out like mud of the streets.

³ Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah. ⁴ I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me. Look, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia: "This one was born there." ⁵ Yes, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one was born in her;" the Most High himself will establish her. ⁶ The LORD shall count in the register of the peoples: 'This one was born there.' Selah

²³ I will crush his enemies before him and strike those who hate him.

⁷ He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the dunghill ⁸ to seat them with princes, with the princes of his people.

⁵² He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has exalted the humble.

¹³ They forced the Israelites to work hard as slaves. ¹⁴ and they made their lives bitter with hard labor, in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of labor in the field, all their labors which they ruthlessly made them do.

²² Then Pharaoh commanded all his people: Every son who is born must be thrown into the Nile River. However, keep every daughter alive.

¹⁷ You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance, the place, O LORD, which you have made for you to dwell in, the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.

³ Jabin had nine hundred iron chariots, and he ruled the people of Israel with cruelty and violence for twenty years. The people of Israel cried out to the LORD for help.

² And when the hand of the Midianites was sore upon Israel, the children of Israel made them dens in the mountains and caves and strongholds. ³ When the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites and the Amalekites along with the desert tribes attacked them. ⁴ and they encamped against them, and destroyed the crops as far as Gaza, and left no sustenance in Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. ⁵ They came with their livestock and tents, as thick as locusts. It was impossible to count the men and their camels. They entered the land and destroyed it. ⁶ Because Israel was deeply impoverished due to the Midianites, they cried out to the LORD.

¹⁷ Raiding parties left the Philistine camp in three companies. One company turned on the road to Ophrah to the region of Shual.

⁹ »‘I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning.

⁴ You are my King, my God, who commands victories for Jacob.

⁸ You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it.

²² No enemy will tax him, no wicked man will oppress him. ²³ I will crush his enemies before him and strike those who hate him.

² He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in its midst, and also cut out a winepress in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.

⁷ For the vineyard of the LORD Almighty is the house of Israel, and the man of Judah is the plantation of his delight. And he waited for justice, but look! Bloodshed! For righteousness, but look! A cry of distress!

¹⁸ Violence will no more be heard in your land, desolation nor destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.

⁹ At another moment I may speak about a nation or kingdom to build it or plant it.

⁶ »‘I will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them to this land again. I will build them up and not overthrow them. I will plant them and not uproot them.

²⁴ And there is no more to the house of Israel A pricking brier, and paining thorn, Of all round about them--despising them, And they have known that I [am] the Sovereign LORD."

²⁵ "'"They will live in the land that I gave my servant Jacob, the land where their ancestors lived. They, their children, and their grandchildren will live in it for a very long time. My servant David will be their prince for a very long time. ²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them. It will be an everlasting covenant with them. I will place them, multiply them, and will set my sanctuary among them forever more. ²⁷ "'"My dwelling place will be with them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

¹⁸ And in that day I will make a covenant for them, with the wild beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the reptiles of the earth; and bow and sword and battle I will crush out of the land; and I will settle thee securely

¹⁵ I will plant the people of Israel in their own land, never again to be torn out of their land that I gave them," says the LORD your God.

⁴ He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

²¹ And so because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.

¹⁴ Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies. ¹⁵ Wherever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for harm, as the LORD had spoken, and as the LORD had sworn to them: and they were in great distress. ¹⁶ And the LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.

⁹ But they forgot the LORD their God, so he sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the hosts of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them. ¹⁰ So they cried out to the LORD and said, 'We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD and have served the Baals and the Ashtoreths. But now deliver us from the hand of our enemies and we will serve you!' ¹¹ Then the LORD sent Jerubbaal, Barak, Jephthah, and Samuel and he delivered you from the hand of your enemies on every side, so that you lived securely.

²⁸ Please forgive the offense of your servant. For the LORD will certainly make a strong dynasty for your majesty, for your majesty is fighting the LORD's battles. May evil not be found in you for all of your life.

¹ When the king lived in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies all around,

²⁷ For You, O LORD Almighty, God of Israel, have revealed to Your servant, saying, I will build you a house. Therefore Your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to You.

²⁴ And now [as] the LORD liveth, who has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

³⁸ And it will be, if you will listen to all that I command you and will walk in my ways and do what is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did. That I will be with you and will build you a sure house as I built for David and will give Israel to you.

¹⁰ "'They have done this since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies. I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you!

¹⁰ "'He is the one who will build a house for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for a very ong time.'"

¹⁸ For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole. ¹⁹ From six troubles he will deliver you, and in seven evil shall not touch you.

²⁹ "If he is remains silent, who will condemn him? If he conceals his face, who can see him? He watches over both nation and individual alike,

⁹ He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire.

³ “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant, ⁴ I will establish Your seed forever, and build up Your throne to all generations. Selah.

⁴² Their enemies oppressed them and made them subject to their power.

¹ A Song of Ascents. By Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.

¹ The wise woman built her house but the foolish will pull it down with her hands.

⁴ Behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, This man will not be your heir, but he who will come out of your own body will be your heir.

¹⁶ And the Lord said to Moses, Now you are going to rest with your fathers; and this people will be false to me, uniting themselves to the strange gods of the land where they are going; they will be turned away from me and will not keep the agreement I have made with them.

²¹ Otherwise, as soon as your majesty is laid to rest with his ancestors, I and my son Solomon will be branded as traitors."

¹ And the days of David drew near for him to die. And he charged Solomon his son, saying,

²⁰ the LORD has carried out his promise which he had made; I have risen in place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel as the LORD promised, and I have built the house for the name of the LORD the God of Israel.

¹¹ "'When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you. It will be one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.

²⁹ I will establish his dynasty forever, and his throne as long as heaven endures.

¹¹ The LORD made an oath to David from which he will not retreat: "One of your sons I will set in place on your throne. ¹² If your sons keep my covenant and my statutes that I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever."

⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

¹ And a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit. ² The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. ³ His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;

¹⁰ In that day the root of Jesse, who standeth for an ensign of the people, him the Gentiles shall beseech, and his sepulchre shall be glorious.

² Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

⁴² "What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?" "David's," they said. ⁴³ He said to them, How is it then that David through the Spirit calls him Lord? For he said, ⁴⁴ 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet" '?

³⁰ But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that He would place one of his descendants on his throne.

³⁶ For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep. His body was buried with his fathers and saw decay.

⁵¹ Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—

¹⁴ For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.

¹⁶ Your house and your kingdom shall endure forever before you; your throne shall be established forever." '"

⁵ Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, 'Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.'

¹² As for this house, which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments, walking in them, I will fulfil my word to thee, which I spoke to David thy father.

¹⁹ Nevertheless, you are not to build the temple, but your son who will be born to you shall build a temple for my name.'

¹¹ "'When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you. It will be one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹² "'He is the one who will build a house for me. I will establish his throne forever.

⁹ »‘You will have a son who will be a man of peace and rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon (peace), and I will grant Israel peace and quiet during his reign. ¹⁰ "'He is the one who will build a house for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for a very ong time.'"

⁶ He said to me, 'Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. ⁷ I will establish his kingdom forever, if he continues to do My commandments and My ordinances as he does at this time'.

¹⁰ Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for him as a sanctuary. Be strong, and do it."

⁴ I will establish Your seed forever, and build up Your throne to all generations. Selah.

²¹ For My hand shall support him; and My arm shall strengthen him.

³⁶ His offspring will endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me. ³⁷ It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky." Selah.

⁸ Thus says the LORD, "In a season acceptable I answer you. And in a day of salvation I help you. And I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to set up the land, to allot the desolated allotments,

¹³ And he will build the temple of the LORD, and he will bear majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he shall be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two of them." '

¹⁸ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it!

³¹ And now, you shall be with child and give birth to a son, and you shall give him the name Jesus. ³² He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, ³³ and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end!”

³ Jesus has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.

⁵ you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁵ Be convinced in your heart that as a father disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

¹³ "'I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.

⁶ He said to me, 'Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

¹⁷ "Blessed is the person whom God corrects. Do not despise discipline from the Almighty.

²⁰ I have found David my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him, ²¹ For My hand shall support him; and My arm shall strengthen him. ²² No enemy will tax him, no wicked man will oppress him. ²³ I will crush his enemies before him and strike those who hate him. ²⁴ My faithfulness and gracious love will be with him, and in my name his power will be exalted. ²⁵ I will place his hand over the sea, and his right hand over the rivers. ²⁶ He will call out to me, 'You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.' ²⁷ I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. ²⁸ I will keep my mercy for him for ever; my agreement with him will not be changed. ²⁹ I will establish his dynasty forever, and his throne as long as heaven endures. ³⁰ If his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments, ³¹ if they profane my statutes; and do not keep my commands, ³² then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. ³³ But I will not annul My mercy from him, and I will not be false in My faithfulness. ³⁴ I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered. ³⁵ Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; that I will not be false to David.

¹² Blessed is the man whom you discipline, LORD, and teach out of your Law; ¹³ to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.

¹¹ My son, do not reject the LORD's discipline, and do not despise his correction, ¹² because the LORD corrects the person he loves, just as a father corrects the son he delights in.

¹¹ "I am with you. I will rescue you," declares the LORD. "I will completely destroy all the nations where I scattered you, but I will not completely destroy you. I will correct you with justice. I will not let you go entirely unpunished."

¹⁷ and lo! a voice from heaven said,"This is my son, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased."

³² But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.

⁵ For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. ⁶ For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he punishes every son he accepts." ⁷ Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? ⁸ If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have all had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them. Should we not much more submit to the Father of our spirits and live? ¹⁰ Our fathers disciplined us for a short time as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in His holiness. ¹¹ No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a peaceful harvest of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

¹⁹ Those I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be earnest and repent.

²³ For rebellion is like the sin of divination; arrogance is like iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you from being king!"

²⁸ And Samuel said to him, the LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.

¹⁴ Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.

²⁴ He stripped off his clothes and he also prophesied before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

¹⁴ "'I will be his father. He will be my son. When he does wrong I will correct him just as parents correct children.

¹³ But I will not rend all the kingdom; one tribe I will give to thy son for sake of David my servant, and for sake of Jerusalem which I chose.

³⁴ But I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David My servant, whom I chose, because he kept My commandments and My statutes. ³⁵ "'I will take the kingdom away from Solomon's son and will give you ten tribes. ³⁶ I will give one tribe to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.

²⁸ I will keep my mercy for him for ever; my agreement with him will not be changed.

³⁴ I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.

³⁵ "'I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!'"

³ Give ear and come to me; listen to me, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

³⁴ In fact, God raised Him from the dead never to see decay. As He has said: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings I promised to David.’ ³⁵ Further, it is stated elsewhere, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay’. ³⁶ For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep. His body was buried with his fathers and saw decay. ³⁷ But the One whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.

¹⁰ The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.

¹³ It is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

³⁴ And I will defend this city to save her for my sake and for the sake of David my servant.'"

¹³ "'I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. ¹⁴ "'I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever! His throne will be established forever.'"

⁶ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

⁵ and continue, as long as the sun and moon, through all generations.

¹⁷ His name endures forever, his name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed in him, all nations will call him blessed. ¹⁸ Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. ¹⁹ Blessed be to his glorious name forever. May the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and amen!

⁴⁴ “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.

¹⁴ And there was given him dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

³⁴ The crowd replied, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain forever. So how can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”

⁸ But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of Your kingdom.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."

¹⁵ Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation.

²⁰ You know how I did not hesitate to declare to you anything that was helpful, and taught you in public, and from house to house,

²⁷ For I did not hesitate to declare to you the whole counsel of God.

³ For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

¹⁰ I am not worthy of all the loyal love and all the faithfulness that you have shown your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps.

¹¹ But Moses said to God, "Who am I? How can I go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"

¹⁵ He said to him, O Lord, how can I save Israel? My family is the poorest in Manasseh and I am the least in my father's house.

²¹ Saul answered, Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And is not my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?

¹⁷ Samuel said, "Though you were little in your own sight, weren't you made the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel;

¹⁸ David said to Saul, "Who am I and what is my life or my father's family in Israel that I should be the king's son-in-law?"

¹⁶ Then King David went and sat before the LORD and said, "Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house that you have brought me thus far?

⁴ what is man, that You are mindful of him, and the son of man, that You care for him?

¹⁴ Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. He went to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.

⁸ Though I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

⁹ Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of the LORD's tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;

¹³ "Is it not enough that you brought us out of a land flowing with milk and honey only to kill us in the desert? Do you also have to order us around?

¹¹ In the manner that I appointed judges over my people Israel, I will give you rest from all your enemies. And the LORD declares to you that the LORD will build a house for you. ¹² When your days are full and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you who will go out from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ It is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. ¹⁴ "'I will be his father. He will be my son. When he does wrong I will correct him just as parents correct children. ¹⁵ But my mercy I will not take away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before my face. ¹⁶ Your house and your kingdom shall endure forever before you; your throne shall be established forever." '"

⁸ I gave you your master's house, and your master's wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that would have been too little, I would have added to you many more such things.

¹⁷ "If this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men, O LORD my God.

⁷ How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

⁸ "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. ⁹ "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

⁷ in order that in the coming ages, he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

¹⁹ and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. ²⁰ Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us,

¹⁹ For I know him that he will command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do after right and conscience, that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that he hath promised him."

¹ For the music director. Of David. A psalm. O LORD, you have searched me, and you know me.

²⁵ He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.

¹⁷ He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he asked him a third time: Do you love me? And he said to him: Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep.

¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

²³ Then I will strike her children dead, and all the churches will know that I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of humankind, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

⁵ It is not because of your righteousness and because of the uprightness of your heart that you are coming to take possession of their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God is driving them before you, and in order to confirm the promise that the LORD swore to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

¹⁴ Look! I am about to die, and you know in all your hearts and souls that not one thing failed from all the good things that the LORD your God promised concerning you; everything has been fulfilled; not one thing failed. ¹⁵ However, just as all of the good things have come about that the LORD your God promised, so also the LORD will bring upon you all of the threats until he has destroyed you from possessing this good land that he has given you.

¹ Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to your name be given glory on account of your gracious love and faithfulness.

² I will bow down toward Your holy temple, and give thanks to Your Name for Your grace and for Your truth; for You have exalted above all things your name and your word.

²⁶ Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

³⁵ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

⁵⁴ He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful, ⁵⁵ toward Abraham and his offspring for ever, as he spoke to our fathers.

⁷² to show mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

²¹ At that time, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.

³² Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

¹ Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

⁹ he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,

¹¹ according to the eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

² so you may tell your children and your grandchildren how I toyed with the Egyptians and about my miraculous signs that I performed among them, so all of you may know that I am the LORD.

¹¹ "Who is like you among the gods, LORD! Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in splendor, and working wonders!

²⁴ “Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do works like yours, and mighty acts like yours?

³⁵ It was shown to you so that you might know that the LORD is God, and no one else beside Him.

³⁹ See, now, that I, even I am he, and there is not a god besides me; I put to death and I give life; I wound and I heal; there is not one who delivers from my hand!

² There is no one holy like the LORD, indeed there is no one besides you, there is no rock like our God.

²⁵ For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

⁵ “The house which I am building will be great; for our God is greater than all gods.

¹ [To the Chief Musician for the Sons of Korah, a maschil.] We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.

¹ Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain

⁸ Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; none are like Your works.

¹⁰ For You are great, and do wondrous things, You alone are God.

⁶ For who in the skies compares to the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the divine beings?

⁸ O LORD God of hosts, who is like You, O mighty the LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds you.

⁴ For great is the LORD, and highly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods

⁵ For I know that the LORD is great, and our Lord is greater than all gods.

³ Great is the LORD, and very worthy of praise, and his greatness is unsearchable.

¹⁸ To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to?

²⁵ "To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?" says the Holy One.

⁵ I am the LORD, and there is no other. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not known me;

¹⁸ the LORD says: "Who created the heavens? He who is God. He fashioned and made the earth. He founded it and he did not create it to be empty but formed it to be inhabited." He says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.

²² Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

⁶ There is no one like you, O Lord; you are great and your name is great in power. ⁷ Who would not revere you, O king of the nations? For you it is fitting. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like you.

²² Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord, I deal thus with you, not for your sakes, house of Israel, but only for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.

³² "'I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake,' proclaims the Sovereign LORD. 'Be ashamed and disgraced because of your ways, people of Israel.'

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not keep His anger forever, because He delights in mercy.

⁷ The LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. ⁸ I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

¹⁶ but indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth;

¹² For on that night I will go through the land of Egypt, sending death on every first male child, of man and of beast, and judging all the gods of Egypt: I am the Lord.

⁵ ‘If you will obey me and are faithful to the terms of my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, for all the earth is mine. ⁶ but you, you will belong to me as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites."

¹³ Moses said to the LORD, "Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them; ¹⁴ And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that you LORD are among this people, that you LORD are seen face to face, and that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them, by daytime in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

⁷ For what great nation is there, that has a god so near to them, as the LORD our God is whenever we call on him? ⁸ And what other great nation has for it just rules and regulations just like this whole law that I am setting before you today?

³² For ask now to the former days which were before thee from the day that God created man upon the earth, and from the end of the heavens to the end of the heavens, Has there been as this great word, or was heard like it? ³³ that a nation hath heard the voice of God speaking out of fire as thou hast heard, and yet lived? ³⁴ Or has a god ever attempted to go to take for himself a nation from the midst of a nation, using trials and signs and wonders and war, with an outstretched arm and with great and awesome deeds, like all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? ³⁵ It was shown to you so that you might know that the LORD is God, and no one else beside Him. ³⁶ From heaven he made you hear his voice to teach you, and on the earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from the midst of the fire. ³⁷ And because he loved your ancestors he chose their descendants after them. And he brought you forth from Egypt with his own presence, by his great strength, ³⁸ Driving out before you nations greater and stronger than you, to take you into their land and give it to you for your heritage, as at this day.

²⁶ I prayed to the LORD and said Sovereign LORD, don't destroy Your people and Your inheritance that You have redeemed through Your greatness, that You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

²¹ "He is your praise! He is your God! He performed for you those great and awesome things you saw with your own eyes.

¹⁵ "Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you. Therefore I command you this today!

²⁹ How blessed are you, Israel! Who can be like you, a people delivered by the LORD, your shield of help and your finely crafted sword. May your enemies cower before you. You will tread down their high places.

⁹ The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of this, and they will surround us and cut off our name from the land. What will you do, for your great name?"

²¹ And who is like your people Israel, the one nation upon earth whom God went to redeem for himself, to establish for you a reputation for great and awesome things, to drive out nations from before your people whom you redeemed from Egypt?

¹⁰ and they are your servants and your people whom you redeemed by your great force and by your strong hand.

⁵ O LORD my God, Many are the wonders that you have done and your thoughts toward us. None can compare with you. If I would declare and teach about them, they would be too numerous to report.

⁵ By awesome deeds you answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation. You are trusted to the ends of the earth and the farthest sea.

³ Say to God: "How awesome are your works! Because of your great strength your enemies cringe before you."

²² wonders in the land of Ham, awesome deeds by the Red Sea.

⁹ He sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant forever: holy and awesome is his name.

⁶ And they will speak of the power of your awesome deeds, and I will tell of your greatness.

²⁰ He has not done this for just any nation. They do not know his ordinances. Praise the LORD.

⁷ The kindnesses of the LORD will I mention, the praises of the LORD, according to all which the LORD requites us, and the vast good to the house of Israel which He requites them, according to His compassions, and according to His many kindnesses." ⁸ He said: They are my people, sons who will not lie to me. So he became their Savior. ⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. ¹⁰ But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. Therefore he turned and became their enemy, and he himself fought against them. ¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?” ¹² Who caused his glorious arm to be at Moses' right hand? Who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? ¹³ Who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble? ¹⁴ As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused them to rest. So you led your people to make yourself a glorious name.

⁹ But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

¹ What advantage, then, does the Jew have, or what value is there in circumcision? ² Much in every way. First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.

⁶ to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God; that you should declare the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

⁷ "I will establish my covenant as a long lasting covenant between us. It will be for your descendants after you, for the generations to come. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

⁷ I'll take you for my own people, and I'll be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

² The LORD is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

¹⁸ And the LORD has declared you today to be for him as a people, a treasured possession, as he promised to you, and that you are to observe all his commandments,

⁹ Then Moses and the priests, the Levites, said to all Israel, Be quiet and give ear, O Israel; today you have become the people of the Lord your God.

²³ "And who is like your people, like Israel, the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, to make a name for himself, and to carry out for them great and awe-inspiring accomplishments, driving out nations and their gods in front of your people, whom you redeemed to yourself from Egypt?

²² "You made your people Israel your very own for a very long time, and you, O LORD, have become their God.

¹⁴ For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even to death.

² "Truly God is my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid. the LORD… the LORD is my strength and my song! He has become my salvation."

¹ "At that time," declares the LORD, "I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they will be to me a people."

³³ "But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days," says the LORD: "I will put my law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

³⁸ "They will be my people, and I will be their God.

¹⁰ The number of the children of Israel will be like the sand of the sea that cannot be measured or counted; and in the place where it is said to them, "You are not my people," it will be said to them, "Children of the living God."

⁹ And I will bring the remaining third into the fire, and I will refine them like one refines silver, and I will test them like one tests gold. They will call my name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'the LORD is my God.'"

¹² But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

²⁵ As He says in Hosea: “I will call them My people who are not My people, and I will call her My beloved who is not My beloved,” ²⁶ "And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.'"

¹⁰ Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

¹² And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

⁴⁹ ZAYIN Remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope.

⁴ which I commanded to your ancestors on the day I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace. I said, 'Obey me and do everything that I commanded you. Then you will be my people and I'll be your God.' ⁵ that I may establish the oath which I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey," as at this day.'" Then I answered, and said, "Amen, LORD."

³⁷ "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'I will also let the people of Israel ask me to make them as numerous as sheep.

¹⁸ Abraham said to God: "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!"

²³ "Now, the LORD, let the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house be established from generation to generation. Do as you promised! ²⁴ "It will be established and your name will be great forever. Then men will say: "the LORD Almighty, the God over Israel, is Israel's God! And the house of your servant David will be established before you.

¹⁰ and blessed the Lord in the presence of the assembly, saying, Blessed art thou Lord God of Israel, our Father, from everlasting to everlasting. ¹¹ Yours, O Lord, is the strength and the power and the glory, and the authority and the honour: for everything in heaven and on earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are lifted up as head over all. ¹² Wealth and honour come from you, and you are ruler over all, and in your hand is power and strength; it is in your power to make great, and to give strength to all. ¹³ "Now, our God, we give you thanks, and we praise your glorious name.

³⁶ His offspring will endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.

⁹ So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,

²⁸ Father, glorify your name." Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again."

⁴ I thought to disclose it to you saying, 'Buy it in the presence of those who sit here, and of the elders of my people'. If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then let me know. You have first right to redeem it; and I am next in line. He said, I will redeem it.

¹⁵ Now one day before Saul's arrival, the LORD had revealed to Samuel:

²⁵ "You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. ²⁶ "O LORD, YOU ARE GOD! You have promised these good things to your servant.

¹⁷ LORD, you heard the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen them, you will listen carefully,

⁶ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me. Whole burnt offering and sin offering you did not require.

⁶ And the LORD passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "the LORD, the LORD, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness,

¹⁷ Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

² Which rests in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the beginning of time;

²⁴ The LORD bless you, and keep you: ²⁵ the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. ²⁶ the LORD lift up his face toward you, and give you peace.’

⁵¹ He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his descendants, until forever."

²⁷ Now it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, LORD, have blessed, and it is blessed forever."

¹² The LORD remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron. ¹³ He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great. ¹⁴ May the LORD give you increase, you and your children. ¹⁵ May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
